Bully stick (once $18, is now $25 with tax)

I reviewed a few months ago that they had jacked prices up 22% and now the price of the item I always bought has gone up FIFTY PERCENT. Not one person I know has gotten more than a 3% raise, and I highly doubt HF has given their employees a 50% raise too. There is zero chance that I will recommend Hollywood Feed at this point and I'm not buying anything there until prices are back down to their old overpriced levels. (Photo I posted a few months ago is the old raised price, the new price is even higher now). Price gouging your customers is unAmerican and shows you don't value them sticking around.

I placed an online order for my pups 5th birthday so that we could make sure to celebrate after work. The awesome team at Hollywood Feed/Pet People made sure not to disappoint!! They prepared our order quickly and even left a sweet birthday card for our baby. I couldn't be happier. I've left another review about this store before but I had to come back and leave another. How can you not with this kind of service?! We love our team!! I hope they get to see these pictures! Jaxon (in photo), Harper, Bailey, and I appreciate you all!

Location. Location. Location. The adage, used with real estate, is true here. Hollywood Feed, a pet specialty store offers holistic and natural food, treats, and toys. They've opened a location in an ideal spot in Waverly. It's a franchise store, with multiple locations primarily in the southeast and this store is the first venture into NC. As was explained to me, most of the foods are from the US and Canada and maybe Australia, and some are from small regional manufacturers. The treats, the beds, and toys are mostly USA-made but some of the seasonal toys are not. There are beds from Mississippi, dog treats from Tennessee, cat litter from Wyoming, and so on. There's a cooler near the front of the store with the pet foods that require refrigeration. For the humans, Hollywood Feed has self-labeled coffee beans and mugs. The obviously well-trained associate offered practical advice on the food and the treats and was generally more than willing to answer my questions and offer recommendations. She was quick to point out that if a pet doesn't like something, it can be brought back. The layout of the store is basic: dog treats, supplies, and food taking the front half and then the pet beds and crates in the center and cat foods and litter in the back. Toys are on one-side and more dog food on the other. It's a manageable size with enough variety to ensure something for everyone. The humans can shop for their natural and organic foods next door and then here for their four-legged friends. It's a win for both man and beast.

I stumbled into this store around Christmas. I was drawn in due to a Santa event. I thought it was so adorable that the owners were bringing their pets in for pictures with Santa. The store is smaller than the chain pet stores but it seems like the items tower from the ceiling to the floor. There are many options for dogs and a small section in the back for cats. Cat lovers, do not let that drive you away, it is still worth the visit. They have the cutest cat toys I have ever seen. The prices vary but are reasonable. I bought two cat toys at ~$4 and ~$5. My cat loves to play with them and they seem durable. For such a fancy store, I expected that their cat treats would be overpriced but they actually seemed like a good deal and of better quality compared to those I find at the larger department store retailers. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out and was informed that the cat treats I was purchasing were buy one get one free...what a deal! Upon my next visit, I hope to include an update with further details on the dog items. My first visit was very exciting and I got a bit distracted. The service is great. We were approached while shopping to see if we needed any help. They were eager to assist and very welcoming and the check out was quick. Parking is a breeze as they are within a shopping center.

‍Reactive dog owner here!…read more I'd like to start off by saying I have never had a bad experience at any of the Unleashed locations! The staff at each store are absolutely phenomenal. I frequent this store for their dog bathing station. General Unleashed info: I always call ahead to reserve a spot for a bath- you must do this to ensure they have time for you. Baths are reserved for an hour. They usually fill up quickly for a weekend spot but I've never had any issues with same day reservations so long as you are flexible. I also really appreciate that the staff has always been super considerate and understanding when I specify that my dog is reactive to both other dogs and some people. I usually let them know while he looks super approachable because he's so fluffy and cute () he's kind of a butthead with strangers (). They always respond with kindness and politely give him plenty of space when we come in- and also let us know if there are other dogs in the store when we come in! I cannot tell you how much reassurance this gives us as owners to a reactive dog- we appreciate this courtesy so much! Protip: buy the frequent bather card! $60 for 4 baths and your 5th is free! They link this to your phone number so you don't have to worry about losing the card and it is good for use at any of their locations! Cary specific: The bathing area is in the back of the store where they stock bigger items. There is a baby gate and curtain you can use for some privacy but as my dog is reactive and as the location of the bath is open to the public I do wish there was a door just for peace of mind. We have had instances where other curious customers try to peek in the bathing area which has caused my pup to freak out a bit. The room is a little tight but you can make do with two adults plus your pup. I would say the bathing station is a good size for dogs up to the 60-ish lb range. 70 and up might be a tight squeeze. The always are stocked with plenty of soap/conditioner/ear cleaning/grooming tools! TL;DR $15 self bathing station, well worth the price for not having to clean up/well stocked bathing area and very accommodating staff.

Obviously, they have everything we need. But, more importantly, the staff is friendly and happy to talk about any needs you may have. We took training with Jessica which has been very successful in training both my dog and me. We've had such a good experience at this location that we even signed up for grooming. Justin took plenty of time getting to know me and my dog before starting which allowed my dog to get really comfortable with him. She came out looking super sweet and smelling good for days! Long story short, this has been a one-stop-shop for all our needs from dog food, treats, toys, training and grooming! I can't wait for the store remodel to be finished.

They always remember my mantises (which is pretty niche). Sometimes I even just come in and roam the shelves because they have so many things that I can just look at and try not to buy haha. I may have to come back by and get some cat grass for my (kind of evil) little cat.

This was my second visit and both times I had to *ask* for help -- no one greeted me when I came in or asked if I needed help, although my body language should've clearly communicated that I did (i.e., constantly looking around for someone to help me). By the time I found some help, I was very frustrated and decided not to buy the pet rabbit my daughter was admiring after all. Also, there is not a huge selection of items for smaller animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters. And to make things worse, when I left, two employees were outside taking a smoke break. On a positive note, this store has some pets that other local pet stores may not have -- like the rabbits, for instance. And I like that they host a good number of adoption events. I wish I could give more stars because I love local businesses, but the staff just didn't have the level of professionalism and courtesy that warrant a higher rating. I was there months ago so hopefully service has gotten much better.
