I had a lemon Danish from the limited choices and I have to say it was very good. It was large, had lots of lemon filling, and the pastry was puffy and light, unlike the usual dense flat types I'm used to. The shop itself seemed quite ordinary, despite a wall mounted fireplace near the entrance. The brick floor felt very dated. The lone server was very friendly and she was doing a good job of maintaining the cleanliness of the place. If the other donuts are as good as the Danish, I'll have to come back. read more

Very good homemade donuts in Durham region. Probably my favourite for fresh and homemade donuts in Durham. They aren't designer made donuts, simple classic flavours with what you'd expect them to be. Usually they always have plenty of extras 10 AM range non weekend days. Donut flavours like: Boston cream, glazed, apple fritter, cinnamon roll, Dutchie, maple glazed, chocolate glazed, sour cream glazed, strawberry filled, etc... Quite a bit of options. They offer "Hollywood bites" too - like "Tim bits"but much freshier and better Service.... I find the two ladies who I see most a bit unfriendly. I don't want to say rude, but they're not the nicest. They've got a lot of rules with the half dozen/dozen donuts; they only allow one-two gourmet donuts (apple filled, apple fritter, strawberry filled, Boston cream, Cinnamon roll, etc). I think this is so they don't sell out fast out of these "premium flavours" When they weren't busy, I have asked nicely if I could purchase donuts separate (aka pay more) to get the donuts I wanted. They allowed it. I saw on google review, someone said they didn't allow. I think it depends how busy they are and maybe how nice you ask. When the store is open for seating, quite a bit of people come for breaks...sobeys employees, bankers, construction crews, and the retired people, etc. Stop by - see if you like! read more

Been a regular since I moved to Ajax in 2002. Went there today for the first time since lockdown began. The woman serving me wore a mask AROUND HER NECK and talked constantly while preparing food. Rather than make a scene I paid for my food order and threw it away once I got outside. The sad thing is that I used to go here for coffee every morning. Like the reviews say, best donuts in town. What a joke... came in on a morning to have breakfast with my wife. I asked the cashier what type coffee are available. She didn't had any clue what I was asking for. Then I said okay how about soups? She goes "I don't know, they are posted there and points out the far corner in the store. Small coffee shops that are old school donut places are mostly gone just like traditional old diners (pity as they are real deal no fuss no muss places that serve good grub). This place has excellent donuts. Busy place - was out of quite a few of the varieties and it was around 9am on a week day. Busy with people heading in an out before heading to their offices/worksites/jobs etc. Had the danish (lemon and strawberry), they are on a donut pastry (not a traditional danish pastry) - thumbs up: - freshly made - soft and moist with excellent texture - nice consistency - taste excellent - busy place, clean with good selection (by the time we got there though a lot of the selections were sold out Wayyyyyy better than Tim Hortons (but that's a given as donuts at Tim Hortons are lame at best). Definitely a good place to pick up a box of donuts and take them into your colleagues too. Good place, will go again for sure read more

Tried this place for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised by how good the doughnuts were! They were nice and fresh even at 6 pm, and tasted great. I had the maple dipped doughnut which was really good, and it only cost ~70 cents since it was the end of the day. Would definitely recommend if you are a doughnuts fan. read more

Went in a few weeks before my daughters first birthday to order three dozen donuts. Owner said she was closed the day of the party which was the civic holiday so we agreed my parents would pick them up Sunday at 530 pm. Took my information 3 dozen assorted donuts. My dad went in to pick them up and they claimed there was no order and they had no donuts left... my daughters birthday was a donut theme around their donuts.
