I came here two days ago for a pedi and eyebrow wax. Well, after my trimming and toes being painted, this lady that was doing my big toe on my right, cut an unnecessary amount of my nail and skin on the side!! Two other women started working on me and told me $50 when all was said and done and I went to pay it was $100 and I still tipped them $15.... I have never been at Holly nails in Alvarado TX before today. However, my regular nail salon closed on a holiday to travel with their families. My daughter suggested we try our luck at this nail salon. I tried to remain hopeful. I called them and let them know my daughter and I wanted a manicure. They said to come in, and that they weren't busy. I scheduled a 5:30pm appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early and they were slammed! My daughter was on her way there and the service was awful because I waited and every pedicure chair was full! There were no nail techs available to assist! I was greeted by the women nail techs who were doing pedicures, however, the patrons were very rude. I waited 15-20 more minutes, then left. I called my daughter and told her-it was a no-go. I will never use Holly Nails in the future! Also, I won't recommend them to anyone! read more

Had a great experience. Walked in and got seated and started right away. I work nights , the girl had no problem with me sleeping all the way a pedicure and Manicure. I tipped her extra Just in case I was snoring the whole time. I hope not. Lol read more

Well, my experience from Holly Nails was much better. My daughter got French tip nails and they did not turn out as great as we hoped them too. They were really dirty they're really uncleaned, and the guy who was working with her was rushing the whole entire time it was really bad. but my other daughter, the lady who was working with was really nice another thing when my daughter who wanted French tip wanted glitter on the but instead they gaslighted my daughter it was horrible so for my full experience it wasn't that great but when u go there ask for the young lady who is working there . read more

I decided to try this place as I am new to the Alvarado area. I should have just not even gone. The place is very unsanitary and dirty. While getting my pedicure I noticed the lady wanting to use dirty tools with me that she just pulled out of a plastic cart. Then while getting my pedicure I noticed what looked like bags of used Paraffin wax. And what do you know when it was time to get my nails I turned and look and my pedicure lady is recycling the used wax. Then the gentleman doing my nails I asked for a dip manicure but all I got was the dip and cuticles cut which were cut to short and my nail bed bleed. When it was all said and done I ended spending $140 for horrible service. They tried to charge $160 but I asked for an itemized list of the charges. To my surprise they charge a $25.00 manicure on top of the $45.00 dip on my natural nail. I will just to steer clear of this place and I recommend anyone who cares about cleanliness to as well. I just hope I don't get some kind of infection or anything in my feet. read more

I gave them a chance, I really did. I liked the idea of having a place close by. One time I went there the gal cut my regular nails so short she clipped the skin under my nail and I bled. I decided to give them another chance as accidents do happen. Another time I went in to have them remove my existing acrylic nails. Instead of soaking or filing them off, she took an unused nail tip, jammed it in between my regular nail bed and the acrylic nails and popped them off. This not only removed several layers of my nail, but it ripped the nail on 2 fingers down to the bed and I bled again. I wound up losing the nail entirely on 2 fingers and spent MONTHS waiting for them to grow out. Never again. Never, ever again. Avoid Avoid Avoid! read more

Very slow and not very clean. I made a reservation for 4 people and had to wait over an hour after arriving on time.

This place only had one star so even though it is only 5 miles from my house, I decided to steer clear. However, my neighbors nails look great and she said that she got them done here so I decided to give it a try today. On the other person's review they said that instead of soaking her nails off they pop them off so I made sure that I told them that I wanted to soak off my old set and get a new set so there were no issues there and they did a great job. My nails actually turned out great but my only complaint is that it took an extremely long time. I got a pedicure and had three different girls working on my pedicure because every time someone came in that needed their eyebrows waxed or one of their regular customers, the girl would get up and service whoever else instead of finishing what she had started with me. That was a little frustrating and I felt like my pedicure took a lot longer than it should have. But my full set of nails turned out great and my pedicure was also perfect. I just moved here from South Florida and I could not believe the friendly personalized service I received at the nail spa. The owner worked on my nails, she wasn't in a hurry, and they never looked better. The big surprse was the price list - about half what I paid at home for the same service. Amazing place!!! I called and they were already closed, they told me to come on in anyways and stayed an hour and a half late just to help me. They took their time and did an amazing job and she was very friendly and and not at all rude. Even lay me sit longer for everything to dry. And allowed me to relax in the chair!!! I was impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of the New Owner and New Staff. Got a gel manicure and a pedicure/callus removal. Both were great, Sau did a great job and even added an extra top coat to my gel manicure, as she felt it wasn't shiny enough. Now that's customer service! I also noticed many regulars coming in and they were greeted with hugs, obviously lots of loyal customers. Count me as one! read more
