I've just ordered and they tell me it's another 25-30 minute wait. I'll be back with a review of the food and more details then. I'm back after a total wait of one hour! Let me say,it was worth the wait. If they are still open when you read this,it's worth the trip. I've had this place book marked several years. Opened in 1951, it's the quintessential small town burger stand. I just forgot about it until the other day when I read they're closing. Don't cry,it's because of real estate values. It's no longer economically feasible to make small profits working hard no matter how good the burgers are. The burgers are really good. This place is slammed. I saw two large door dash orders go out and a lot of people that must have ordered online Coming and going. Finally my name was called and I took my piping hot brown paper sack to the hood of my truck. Looking into the sack, loose fry, pull it out, bite it, perfect. Unwrap burger, looks fantastic, bitting into it.... satisfaction! I'm a sucker for small towns but Anna is no more. In only five years the influx of migrants from other states have fueled exponential growth. It's happening everywhere and places like Spurlocks are the victims. It's our loss too,as these quaint old places harbor a lot of history. The kind that built America. Usually the Yelp community competes to be the first to Review a new business. I find it satisfying in this case and honored that I may be the last to Review... The Malt Shop

And we were not wrong... We tried the cookies and cream malt, fried Oreos, as shown in the picture, and of course we had to get some fries. All came out piping hot, except for the malts, of course. My kid said it was one of the best malts they have ever had, which is a strong statement because they are ice cream connoisseur lol. Their fries were crinkle cut which just added to the old school feel the fried Oreos were cooked to perfection and exactly what I wanted There is a cute little indoor seating area next to the kitchen, but we didn't take advantage of it because we got our food to go. However, we will definitely be back now that we are locals.

Our drinks and appetizers came out in a reasonable amount of time, which we appreciated. The mango margarita was a great choice along with the crispy , well seasoned fried pickles . I absolutely loved the bread with cinnamon butter they brought out while we waited for our meals. My husband ordered the Road Kill and really enjoyed it; he said the meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and topped perfectly with sautéed mushrooms, cheese, and onions. My son went with the country-fried sirloin steak and said he liked it, though he didn't finish because he filled up on too much bread beforehand. I ordered the Steakhouse Filet Salad. It was okay, but the filet had a slightly different flavor that was hard to describe and just wasn't my thing. Overall, aside from the initial wait (which we expected and were prepared for), everything moved along smoothly once we were seated, and we were out at a good time. We'd definitely come back again.

Warm wood tones, beautiful lighting, and that perfect upscale-yet-cozy feel make the whole place feel special. The location is ideal too -- easy to get to and surrounded by that lively Shops at Legacy energy without any of the chaos. But the food? Next level. The elk tacos were straight-up fantastic -- perfectly seasoned, tender elk, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of heat. I could have eaten a second order without hesitation. Then came the chicken fried steak, and it did not disappoint. Crispy, golden crust, juicy and flavorful meat, and that classic creamy gravy that tastes like it was made with love. Every bite was pure comfort food elevated. Everything about the experience felt thoughtful and elevated, yet still warm and welcoming. If you're in Plano and want a restaurant that nails both the food and the atmosphere, Haywire is it. I'm already planning my next visit. Hands-down 10/10. Go now -- you'll thank me later!

It's got that Texas feel to it, but cleaned up a bit. Comfortable, but still a little polished. The food was really solid across the board. You know how brunch can sometimes just be... fine? This wasn't that. Everything tasted like someone actually cared about it. Good seasoning, cooked right, and just enough creativity without overdoing it. It still felt like brunch, just done properly. Drinks were great too. Not over-the-top, just well-made and easy to enjoy. Definitely the kind of place where one turns into two without much convincing. Service was smooth--friendly, attentive, but relaxed. Nobody hovering, nobody rushing you out. Just a good flow to the whole meal. We ended up sitting there longer than we planned, just hanging out and enjoying it, which probably says the most. If you're in Frisco and want a brunch spot that actually feels worth going to, Haywire's a safe bet.

You have to seat yourself - there were enough vacant tables to pick from. Within a few minutes, our server was over and helped us narrow down on what we wanted to order. I went for a Crushed Velvet Mule in addition to Cali, Buffalo (both grilled versions) and Burg B Q. We told our server that between me and my wife, we will be sharing the chicken sandwich and hence requested that it be sliced into 2. Not only were the burgers sliced, it was served in separate plates with sides as well - that was a really nice touch. Cali was a bit bland, Buffalo and Burg B Q were both really nice. The drink was nice as well. There was live music but we were seated near a table that was pretty boisterous, could hardly hear anything. The outdoor seating overlooking greenery and events they do at the restaurant make the place quite different - we will definitely be back soon to try other options on the menu.
