It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. He pleasantly explained the drink and dining menus and took good care of us all evening. My bride had her favorite drink, The French Martini, and you guys nailed it for her! I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! So thoughtful of them to treat us and to top off a memorable meal and milestone in our lives.

Went to Hardware in North Aurora and came away with mixed feelings…read more The good: ambiance is great and the drinks were on point. Had the Marilyn saison and a solid dark beer. Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

Ace Hardware (Buikema's) - Naperville, around 8:40 PM this morning February 4th…read more I had a great start with the first cashier who was genuinely helpful showing me how to use coupons in the Ace app. But she got pulled away to handle something with another customer and asked another employee to finish checking me out and apply the remaining discounts. That second employee (older woman, blonde hair pulled back, glasses) made a very obvious full-body "really?/come on" reaction and rolled her eyes while I was pulling up the last coupon. She used a rude tone, pointed the scanner at my phone impatiently, and acted annoyed the entire time I was trying to show the final discount. I asked calmly if she was aggravated that I used coupons. She walked away while responding, wouldn't engage, and said I "misinterpreted" her with her back turned. It was crass and uncomfortable -- especially since I was polite and simply using the store's own app discounts. I shop here because I expect friendly, respectful service. I hope management addresses how customers are treated when using coupons. I'm not trying to play the senior citizen card but I am near 65 and I do fuss with apps. I wasn't born with a cell phone in my hand!

Longtime Customer, but Disappointed by Recent Service ChargeI've been a customer of Fullers…read moreHardware ever since I moved to Clarendon Hills, and over the years, I've relied on them not just for hardware needs but also for home repair services. They've always been helpful, knowledgeable, and a great local resource -- which I really value. However, my most recent experience in October 2024 and May 2025 left me a bit disappointed. A heavy picture had fallen in our bedroom, and since I couldn't lift it myself, I called Fullers for help. They sent two people, who re-hung the picture in about 10 minutes. I also asked them to recaulk a small section (about 10 inches) in the shower, which took another 10 minutes. I was surprised to receive a bill for $175.00. I assumed this was a minimum service charge, and I paid it, but it still felt quite steep for a total of roughly 20 minutes of relatively simple work. The first week in May 2025, I called and told them the calking they had done was again in bad shape and been done right the first time. They sent someone. Took 10 minutes to repair and charged me another $175.00. I called to complain.was given no relief and I think was treated discourteously. While I appreciate the responsiveness a of the service, I think it would be helpful if the pricing structure -- especially for small jobs -- was more transparent. I won't call them again for minor home repairs in the future. There is a saying often heard in Hinsdale---"I've been 'Fullerized'. Now I know what it means. Caveat Emptor

This ACE has repeatedly saved me time and money by suggesting better solutions for home repair. The selection is surprisingly good also and usually has at least a couple of solutions to every home repair problem. Just ask and they will tell you the best solution! On one occasion I had called a professional plumber who declared my kitchen plumbing problem "too hard" with the plumber complaining about the depth of the sink and the relatively high location of the single drain pipe (for three drains). The plumber then slipped out the back, leaving me to solve my own problem. I took a trip to the ACE and the associate at this ACE spent over an hour helping me solve this plumbing problem, with the ACE associate placing more than a dozen plumbing parts on the floor in the proper order... I went home and by the end of the day it was working. On another occasion, I went to this ACE thinking I would buy some WD-40 to loosen rusted screws in order to remove a broken screen door. The ACE associate showed me the WD-40 but then suggested an alternate product "PB Blaster" which I purchased on their recommendation. I returned home and applied the PB Blaster to the rusted screws on the screen door. Several screws were rusted on tight and resisted my efforts to loosen them. The instruction for the PB Blaster advises waiting a few minutes for the Blaster to soak in, so it seemed like a good time to take a lunch break. I returned from lunch to find the rusted screws popped out, and the screen door on the ground. Wow, just wow. So, if there is such a thing as a home repair magician, these guys are it! Highly recommended.

Both staffers in the aisles were helpful and friendly, pointed me in the right direction for what I needed. I headed to check out and the total should have come to about $75 minus the two sales which were advertised on the shelf: $5 off one of the grass seeds if you are an Ace member (we are) and $6 off another grass seed, also need to be a member. I entered my ACE number and the clerk confirmed it. I should have saved $11 tonight, but the advertised discount didn't show up at the register, full price only. I asked the clerk and I pointed to the two sales tags hanging in front of the products on the shelf. She called the manager and explained that the sales were not showing up, but then we realized it is still August 30th and the sales tags' say "September". So the manager said I would have to COME BACK in two days if I wanted to get the sales price, even though the tags on the shelf advertised the sale. I suggest they don't put up the September sales tags until it is actually September if they are not going to honor the prices that are being advertised. This will most likely happen to the customers tomorrow as well, August 31st. I don't fault the clerk at all. She tried her best to request that I get the sales price, but the manager was firm. Nope, come back in September. What the heck? I will never come back, actually. I will keep driving the 7 miles out to Menards where they honor the prices they advertise.
