This was a few miles from a business training I had and was the obvious (almost only) choice. Check in was a breeze and apparently they are tow happy, so we were told a few times about placing the parking pass in the car. The room was identical to the photos online. Not sure if I got the model room, but all the pictures were accurate. Great use of space, with full desk, bench, armoire , loveseat, mini fridge, and microwave. Had all bottled toiletries I'd need and had notecard by sink saying the front desk could provide any other toiletries you may have forgotten, like a toothbrush. Comfortable bed and dark curtains finished out my needs. Breakfast was continental but had everything I'd normally look for, pastries, juice, oatmeal, alternative milk, and fruit. There was also a waffle maker and several coffees. I didn't have much need to interact with staff, but when I did, they were quick and friendly. I'd recommend a stay here and, with the slim choices, I'm glad this one keeps things clean and friendly.

Rude & hostile front desk employee

Front desk employee was extremely unprofessional, rude, hostile, and a terrible representation of Holiday Inn Hotels. She was very condescending and disrespectful for no reason, when I was very kind to her and polite. She was extremely rude, and it felt discriminatory and targeted. She did not know the policies of the hotel, and did not understand that you can take a temporary license issued by the DMV. The TSA took my ID for my flight which was valid, and the way the employee handled it was very difficult and over the top. She made me stand there for an extra hour and was wasting everyone's time. The other manager came over and said my ID was completely valid, and that the employee was in the wrong. This employee never apologized for her wrongdoing, and honestly should be removed from working the front desk because she does not know how to speak in a polite and professional manner. I am a platinum IHG member and have stayed at this hotel for 5 years regularly. Every one of the staff knows me, and is nice so it's not okay to harass loyal customers.

Very small building from the outside, but nice check in desk. Doors lock at 6 pm, so there's an easily accessible bell and video system to get into the lobby. I used the key accessible stairwell most of the time. Check in was simple and efficient. You can tell it's a recent update, which suits the establishment. All doors are wireless touch entry with your key card. My room was spacious, nicely laid out. I discovered later that screen over the window was the only covering, no curtain, no blackout. I kept trying to shut out the sun and couldn't. After having come from work, I wanted to shower and discovered no hot water. I let it run, thinking maybe old pipes, but no avail. The sink had hot water. Weird. Tried to call the front desk and phone didn't work. Went downstairs and while I was happy with my room, I decided to switch rooms. There are cameras over the parking lot, so I wanted a view where my car wad accessible. I checked my new room. Oddly, minimal water pressure in the sink, but I wasnt going to complain. Then I turned on the TV and the remote didn't work. Smdh. I went back downstairs for a new remote bc the battery door is screwed into the remote. Front desk brought me one. Sigh. Breakfast was actually offered in the morning downstairs, all packaged, of course. Bagels, pastries, oatmeal, and coffee.

We were charged for audiovisual services that were not functional when our seminar began. Staff onsite were unable to operate the equipment and acknowledged they were not trained. We had to bring in outside equipment at our own expense to keep the event going. The hotel later refunded the AV charge, but refused to cover the additional cost we incurred due to their failure. Even more concerning was the behavior of the Catering Manager, who was confrontational and unprofessional in front of guests and staff. This included a heated exchange that was visible to attendees and others present, including representatives from a nonprofit organization we were supporting. That level of conduct is not what you expect when hosting a professional event. This property has a lot of potential, but based on this experience, I would be very cautious about hosting an event here without clear assurances around on-site management.

When I arrived at check-in time, my Digital Key wasn't ready and I had to wait 30 mins in the lobby until the room was ready. They did clam to refund the parking fee ($17) for the inconvenience so that's nice. The room itself was fine. Though they didn't have linens for the pull out sofa bed nor did they have shampoo in the shower. The toilet handle was malfunctioning and the shower drain was wacky too so those were minor inconveniences. Beds were comfy and the room was fine so good there. The pool was closed starting on Christmas Day to January 31. No reason was given. I'm not blaming them for it but it was a bummer for my kids. Fitness Center was there too but I can't comment on it as we didn't use it. The evening complimentary reception was decent. Adults get two free alcoholic beverages and kids have their choice of unlimited juices of soda. The food was tortilla chips, veggies, fruit, cookies (which ran out and not replaced), and cheese/crackers. Breakfast consisted of made to order food as well as a buffet of sorts. Eggs, potatoes, chicken sausage, and biscuits/gravy were the hot food choices. Bagels, fruit, and cereal other options as well. No waffle maker in sight which is unusual for Hilton hotels. All in all it was a decent stay and is conveniently right off 95. Would I come here again if I need too? Maybe, but it wouldn't be something I'd be over the moon looking forward to.

I would strongly recommend staying away from this hotel. The…read morephotos online are completely misleading compared to what you actually get. Check-in was easy enough, and while the staff was polite, they weren't particularly personable. The bigger issue started the very first night. Someone had clearly tampered with my car in the parking lot--my windshield wiper was lifted, which is often used as a way to monitor whether a car is being checked on or moved. It didn't feel random--it felt intentional and concerning. I counted four cars tampered with. All with license plates not belonging to the area. I brought it up to the front desk and asked if they could check the cameras. I even asked if staff might be involved or aware of anything like this happening. They denied any involvement and, more concerningly, didn't seem to care that someone was going around the lot messing with guests' vehicles. The manager (possibly the owner) said he would review the cameras and follow up, but his attitude made it clear it wasn't a priority. His only suggestion was to move my car somewhere else on the property, which didn't exactly inspire confidence. If you're staying somewhere and have to worry about your car being messed with--or worse, stolen--and the staff shows little concern, that's a serious problem. Guests should feel safe, and that was not the case here. Beyond that, the property itself has issues. The fire-rated doors to the rooms appear compromised--there's about a 2-3 inch gap underneath them. That defeats their purpose, reduces privacy, and allows noise and visibility into the room, which is unsettling from a safety standpoint. The only somewhat positive note is that the bathroom looked more updated than the rest of the room--but even there, I noticed signs of black mold developing. Between safety concerns, lack of staff accountability, and the overall condition of the property, I would not recommend staying here.

You missed your alarm and that is when my nightmare began. Here is the story. Folks, I tell you what, everything was fine until check out at 11a. I booked for one night and at 11:10 am a knock on the door. I woke in a panic and said, "give me ten minutes." and "I will be right out." Another knock five minutes later while I was in the bathroom. I said, "what?" I responded, "I will be right out." Not even a minute later, a phone call from the front desk. They hung up as I picked up the phone. I call back and asked the front desk woman, Paula, what her problem was and told her I would be leaving in just a minute. She said, "get out." I then went to Priceline, booked another night, and called back to the front desk and told her that I was staying as I had booked another night and would drop by the front desk to have my room key remade. Paula then told me she was calling the police officers on me and that sent me through the roof. Never in my memory have I ever had the police officers called because of a 31 minute late check out. This woman is unreasonable and needs to have her attitude checked at the front door. And the Hotel does not want to give me the money back for the room, nor does Priceline want to give me the refund. And I admit that toward the end as I was walking out of the hotel, I gave that woman the finger and called her a b****. And while on the phone after being transferred to a "supervisor" that was clearly reading off a script, I said some choice words to them as well, but folks this is what is wrong with greedy corporations and businesses, they are quick to take your money and hide behind the phone or front desk and taunt you with stuff. But they fail to remember we pay their bills, not the shareholders and not the employees of the company. Both of those are liabilities to the company. Employees cost them money and shareholders cost them money. The customers receiving the service are the only ones that are an asset. Do you know that gives us a heck of a lot more power than they want to admit and hence they are scared when someone pushes back to their outdated and civilly corrupt polices of not refunding money. Hello somebody, had that lady been my employee, she would have been fired and she would then pay me for the loss of the money for the room, and before you say wait a minute, think about it. Had she been more polite with me and listened to me and I was telling her I would be right out and if she had left it at that, this situation would have not happened, but by me getting up late somehow justifies her coming at me like a bull in a China shop, I think not. I get so sick of the injustice and the entitlement people feel. It is not cool and do not do business. Everything is fine if you smile and take up it the rear, but as soon as you have one concern, or issue you bring up boy does that situation change quickly? It is all a money fraud if you want to know the truth. In the future do yourself a favor, DO NOT BOOK WITH A THIRD PARTY EVEN IF IT IS TWO DOLLARS CHEAPER, GO DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL. Most of these substandard two star and 2.5-star hotels are run by horrible property management businesses that have convinced the Hotel companies to franchise their name. One day the hotel will be of one hotel group and then suddenly being named something else due to a change in franchise agreement or they breached an agreement of some sort. And do not get me started about the smell of this hotel, like wet dog and the amount of hair that was in the bathroom was nasty and gross. I would not even walk on the carpet with my bare feet. I have learned my lesson. Go with Marriott folks, I should have booked a room with them because they will do the right thing and put humans first. I have never had an issue. Do not let these third-party websites take your money, they are inconsistent in their polices and it takes too much time for them to even consider refunding you your money. Horrible experience, stay away unless you enjoy getting harassed for waking up 10 minutes after checking out. What a great morning? Yes, indeed. Paula must have had a rough morning herself wanting to come to work and treat people like we were in jail or something, it is so sad really. So, sad. That hotel will not survive if they let people like her continue to stay and work there and then threaten the freedoms of the guests there by calling the police. I do not take kindly to that.

This is easily a top 3 WORST experience I've ever had at a Marriott. Check in: the lady at the desk was cold and barely even acknowledged my existence. Not a word about being a good member or lifetime status member. The pool was closed. We had a very large group and part of why we chose this hotel was for the pool so the kids could play in it. Not a single word at check in about it being closed, not was it on the website or in an email. Simply unacceptable. There was an extremely large group or groups of teenage kids there for DC tours or sporting events. The hallways were extremely loud ALL night long and made it impossible to sleep. If your hotel knows about these large groups (and they know exactly how many there are) they should be placing them in one area, together, away from everyone else so families and travelers can get rest. Putting all these kids and groups around families is begging for disaster. Simply unacceptable. My room was next to a busy street and ALL night long I could hear cars going by, another reason I didn't get much sleep during my stay. My room smoke detector was beeping all night long, when it started I called down to the front desk and the phone rang for 10 minutes and yet no one picked it up. I went down to find the front desk worker and no one was around, even after I waited about 10 minutes. The next day I told the workers at the front desk about the beeping and asked for it to be fixed. When I returned to my room that night the beeping was still there. Completely unacceptable to not fix that after being asked to. The fire alarm went off at 630am, waking every person and forcing us to go outside where it was freezing temperatures. After we finally got back inside we were told it was just a false alarm, not someone pulling the alarm. Our family has a special needs child and he was absolutely terrified the rest of the trip, he kept asking if we were going to die in a fire because of the fire alarm. The rooms are old and outdated, we had one room where the wall paper was falling off the walls all over the place. My pillows were terrible, they had different styles but none of them provided any kind of softness or comfort. I am still looking for the managers direct email, I am demanding my points be returned to me for this stay, it was truly a terrible experience from the time I steeped onto that property. This hotel should be stripped of the Marriott name because it completely ruins the brand.
