Updating this review to confirm objective observations: - the room layouts here are better than at the Holiday Inn across the street - the rooms are immaculate. NO spider webs anywhere. Not a spec of imperfection. Impressive - staff is quiet and not super talkative but they are very efficient. I quite appreciated this as I checked in fairly late and was too exhausted to small talk. I had my room key in seconds and was on my way to bed - as I ate my breakfast, they brought out more bacon. This is the way to make my heart sing. If you're weighing whether to stay here or at the Holiday Inn across the street, I'll gladly say there's no comparison. The Holiday Inn across the street is not 80% better and does not justify its rate. Stay at the Hampton. read more

Ebony front desk person wasn't at all welcoming didn't even look at me gave me points (??????) instead of water and snacks, room smells like smoke, was told no other rooms dirty towels left in bathroom. Hugh disappointment! Not at Hilton standards digital key doesn't work well and can't share. Guess it's a place to sleep nothing more. Update checking out Tiarra first class employee sweet and kind offered me a gift certificate which made me feel really good! Thank you for starting my day off better. read more

Great choice to stay, conveniently located just off 95 south of DC. Friendly staff, indoor heated pool, clean, quiet rooms, and nice buffet breakfast. We spent a night here on our drive to Florida. Really pleased with my experience here. The staff was wonderful and welcoming, the check-in and check-out processes were super efficient, everything was clean, and the hotel is easily accessible while traveling around Quantico/DC. Free parking and free WiFi don't hurt either. I stayed here overnight while traveling to Mt. Joy, PA from Carolina Beach, NC... and it was a great place to relax and spend the night. Only complaint is that my AC was kinda loud. The indoor pool, hot tub, and gym are all clean and maintained very well though, so that's a highlight that helps balance anything else out. :) TL;DR Delightful stay. Great staff. Would stay here again and/or recommend this place, for sure. read more

This hotel claims to allow service dogs on their website (in compliance with the law) but at check in Ebony insisted that animals are not welcome to stay there and they preferred I stay elsewhere. I was told I'd be unable to speak to the manager til the following day, which wasn't helpful in my opinion. Ebony also told me that my credit card had been charged since she checked me in and the stay was non refundable since it was less than 24 hours notice. I would never recommend this location or chain to anyone. read more

This is probably one of the newer hotels in the area. It's pretty close to a couple of malls and there are lots of restaurants close by. Stayed here for a week and I have to admit the rooms were pretty nice. I had a single room that had a king sized bed, sofa, dresser, and desk. The room was pretty spacious and didn't feel cramped at all. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy. The offered breakfast every morning and it ranged from biscuits and gravy to omelets. They usually had bacon or sausage available as well as a waffle bar. They had fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal every morning so you could have a pretty hearty breakfast if you wanted. They also had a coffe bar in the lobby that they kept stocked 24/7. Best part of my stay? The hot, fresh cookies they put out daily around 5pm. Would definitely stay here again. read more

My elderly parents have stayed here for over 20 years. The staff has always been very attentive and the service, exceptional. My husband and I stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend to ride in Rolling Thunder. There were many bikers that stayed here. The night before Rolling Thunder there was a huge rainstorm. Many of the motorcycles were parked under the awning at the entrance but the majority of the bikes were in the parking lot, open to the elements and uncovered. Early the next morning the hotel had breakfast for all who were riding in Rolling Thunder and the night manager, Kevin, had placed clean towels on each and every bike to mop up the water that was left over from the rainstorm-- all this before 6:30 a.m. What a kind and thoughtful gesture! This touched many of these tough and gruff bikers! Thank you to all the staff for your service! read more

I wish I could give 6 stars to be honest. My experience staying at the Hampton Inn was exceptional! I came in for a weekend trip and my stay was so enjoyable! I came in a lot earlier than I anticipated and I was so exhausted, my check in time was scheduled for 3pm and I arrived around noon. I asked the front desk attendant if it was possible for my family and I to check in early because we were exhausted and she checked to see if our room was ready, it was and she let us check in. I appreciated the kindness all the staff displayed throughout my stay because it helped a lot. The breakfast was very tasty and I enjoyed the assortment of breakfast food options! The pool was luxurious and my bed was so comfortable! If you're able to stay anywhere I recommend here, I LOVED it! read more

Well, checked in went to the room- towels on the floor in the bathroom, trash in the trash and the bed looks slept in- ok they had another room- seems like this one is clean and nice- Rooms are updated have a small fridge and a microwave- Morning shower was nice- good water pressure- Breakfast was just above average- they had an ok selection of bread and bagels etc for toasting- they have a waffle maker and some nice toppings- they had egg patties and Canadian Bacon all of which was like a tasteless microwave breakfast and rather disappointing. They did have hot coffee and a juice machine as well as some fruit- I expect a little nicer breakfast from the Hilton Group.. So due to the first room not being cleaned, and what I feel was a very average breakfast I can only offer 3 out of 5 stars but I will follow up with I would stay here again. read more

I write this review as a loyal Hilton honors member. I booked two rooms at this hotel through booking.com (never again) and had to cancel the rooms due to a change in plans. I canceled the rooms through booking.com only to find out a few weeks later that I was charged for the rooms I did not use. When I called the hotel, the person I spoke to said there was nothing he could do for me. He said try calling booking.com because the Hampton inn had nothing to do with the booking. I called booking.com and they said I had to call the Hampton inn for a refund and that they had no record of a cancellation. I called Hampton Inn back and they were of no help. Needless to say I am out $335 dollars for two rooms I never used and neither company was any help. I will not be using Hilton anymore nor will I be using booking.com. They obviously are so big they don't care about the little people. read more

Traveling with full reservation. Landed post red eye flight; needing a shower, shave to attend a conference. Upon arrival I was informed there were no rooms available. I told them I had a reservation and gave them my confirmation number...they found my reservation for a 3-night stay. I was informed that they marked me a "no show" and that there was nothing they could do. Now I am 2+ hours late to the conference and cannot find another hotel! Called a nearby Hilton property and they had a room available right now, but they would not lower the price to the government per dime rate. As a weary traveler this place was my clean cozy haven in a bed bug laden circle of hotels. Bruce at the front desk was a gem! I pulled in at midnight and got a room for just one night. He was nice and kind. I didn't use the shower but they offered up shampoo, body wash and CONDITIONER avail from na name brand. pretty cool. esp. since most hotys skip the conditioner which for me is essential. Next morning the continental breakfast was impressive!! There was multiple roasts of coffee....many teas too as well as three or four types of juice. There was a Belgian waffle maker(standard for most hotels nowadays), oatmeal bar with grains, nuts and fruits to mix in, hot scrambled eggs and sausage slices as well as hard boiled eggs, cold cereal, fruit, pastries, yogurt, bagels/English muffins...........etcetcetc. they seating area is cool with a large rectangular breakfast table and other little tables too. Dont sit on the green bench side unless you DO NOT want to get up! haha super uncomfortable thou on that side of seating. Also they have at the front desk breakfast bag to go. Don't care what people thought I had the continental breakfast as well as taking a to go bag. I had many miles to goooo. Room really spacious, clean and quiet. Bed sheets were a little scratchy/rough and yes i thoroughly checked for bed bugs. Happy to report there were none! One room was $119. Tax made it come out to like $135. Best to pay a little more than $89 and NOT go home with a new pet. read more

Rented a shower and it came with a room. You know there is a story here. Was at my place in Virginia when a water pipe began to leak and flooded the basement. That is the bad news. The good news is that I could have been at home in Florida, and rather than the water leaking for several hours, it could have leaked for weeks. So, house is fine to live in, just need a place to shower and clean up while the contractor looks for, finds and repairs the leak. Thus I went to an inexpensive hotel not unreasonably far away and rented a room for the shower and sink. I will say, this hotel is small, yet well maintained inside and out. No idea if the beds sleep well, if the WiFi signal is strong, or how many channels the TV carries. I do know the staff at the front desk have been very friendly, the water in the shower stayed hot for a long time, and it was good to brush my teeth without having to use water from a jug. :-) This is not the Bellagio or the Setai, but it does not pretend to be. It is a clean, comfortable hotel with a friendly staff. So, if driving along I-95 just south of DC and you need a quiet, comfortable place to stay (or need to rent a shower), I recommend this hotel. read more

So far a very nice place. My employer is paying. Greeted by friendly,"polite and professional woman at check in. Check in was fast. Nice room. very clean, smells nice, according was on and working as I opened the door, nice after 5 hours in the car. Newish working HD TV, wifi but information on the computer screen says it is free for one day. , hope I don't have to pay in 24 hrs. Breakfast downstairs in the morning. It has been a while since I have stayed in a regular hotel. So far things are good including the fresh baked. cookie in the lobby. read more

Very pleased with our experience here! We arrived and checked into our non smoking room, but smelled smoke immediately. The front desk clerk immediately offered to move us to another room, which was much cleaner and no trace of smoke for our noses to find. A longtime Hilton Honors member, I booked a room here on behalf of my 18 year old son, who wanted to arrive in town the night before an early morning school field trip in the area. After confirming with a real person verbally that my son could indeed check in and stay by himself as an 18 year old, he made the 3.5 hour trip, arriving at 11 p.m. only to be refused his reservation because of his age. When I called the front desk to investigate, I was met by a rude and unsympathetic front desk agent who informed me that it was past the cancellation policy and that his credit card would still be charged. The agent then begrudgingly said she would waive the cancel fee and charge, making it clear she was doing me a big favor (this as my son was heading back home at 11 p.m.). I find it incredibly helpful to understand this is how HH regards their members and their families. I'll be acting accordingly with my choice of hotels for personal and work trips in the future. read more

Two words... BED BUGS! I checked into this hotel and just after putting my bag down in my room the phone rang. It was the front desk asking how my room was. This caught me off guard because I stay at many different Hampton Inns almost every week and I've never had a courtesy call. After I hung up I checked the bed as I normally would and sure enough as soon as I lifted the pillow there were 3-4 bedbugs. I checked the other bed which was also full of bed bugs! I immediately got my bags and went back down to let them know and the concierge tried to reassure me that it may have just been bugs. Luckily I had taken a video and showed them which only then did they decide to take that room out of commission. read more

Easy to find off of 95 (and near the highway which is always helpful). Check-in was easy and friendly. Wifi was free and worked great. Room was clean. Free breakfast had good choices, good coffee. Stayed/staying at this location as I am relocating from the Northern Virginia area and needed a place for a week and a half before the final leg of my move, the hotel staff is always friendly and very pleasant. Upon checking in Marie Kelley (Front Desk) provided a thorough explanation of all of the hotel amenities and information. I have been staying at Hilton properties for more than 10 years and was starting to feel frustrated by their customer service, but this hotel has renewed my hope in the brand. We had a delightful stay thanks to my mom & stepdad,while visiting the family for my kids birthday week. This made the trip even more special, which I did not believe was possible. The indoor pool, hot tub (Really Hot=104°F!!),& gym facilities were clean & well-maintained. Even had towels there, so handy! The front desk staff were friendly, helpful,& accommodating. I managed to forget several items,& they had complimentary shower cap, sewing kit, even personal kit w/ A qtip, A cotton ball (yes, literally ONE of each!! O:-) & emery board (broke another nail!!). Our nites were all weekdays, but even though they were fully booked, they made us feel like their only guests. We Missed fresh baked cookies the first night, but the aroma still greeted us. The Free, Hot Breakfast allowed us to graze on fresh fruit,make your own waffles, yogurt, oatmeal & various yummy bagels & muffins for several hours each morn. There was complimentary coffee, tea AND COCOA round the clock!! W/WiFi, microwave, mini fridge & coffee maker in the room,we were set!! :-D Check in was smooth, check out even swifter!! We departed Friday, just in time, as a battalion of retired military had overtaken the entire breakfast area ;-) but a couple gents gave us their table,& they moved to a couple open stools at the bar seating, instead. Yes,folks,chivalry is alive & well in Dumfries/Quantico!! :-) Would gladly stay here again, this was a hotel w/indoor elevators & room-access, not the motor-inn type I remember along I-95 further south. I got the suite with the wirlpool. I loove the space and the privacy. Only thing i feel needs upgrading is the ac/heating unit. Thermostats are out of date and only heat up certain sections on the room. Still would recommend this hotel. read more

Beware of the infinitely incapable Elmar, the desk clerk that we encountered at this facility. My 19 year old daughter traveled to Quantico to attend a friend's graduation from Marine Officers' Training. She and I booked a room at this facility on line and called to ensure that all documentation and information needed would be taken care of prior to her arrival. We were assured that all was in order and that nothing further was needed from us for her to stay there. When she arrived and tried to check in, Elmar refused to check her in, refused to get the manager and harangued her while she waited for help from her friend's parents, who were staying at a different facility. Elmar told her that renting her a room would be "like giving alcohol to a minor" and stated that he was canceling her reservation and that she should "just go away". I spoke with Elmar and he went on endlessly about what he couldn't do. I asked to speak to the manager and was repeatedly only offered his voicemail. I left a message for the manager, who did not return my call. When I called my daughter back 10 minutes later, she told me that the manager had come out of the office immediately after I left the voicemail and had check her into the reserved room. The infinitely incapable Elmar was either poorly trained, incompetent, predjudice or some combination of the three. To try to throw a 19 year old young woman out on the street rather than get the manager, as a properly trained, competent clerk would have done, is inexcusable. read more

This hotel was one of the most clean, friendly and comfortable places I have stayed in quiet a while. Booking on a whim I didn't expect anything too exceptional and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely kind, even giving us a lengthy late check out and snacks to take to the room. The cleanliness was outstanding, I met the sweet cleaning staff in the hallway and just had to thank them. Normally hotel showers aren't my thing but I felt so comfortable because of the level of cleanliness. The beds were very comfortable, having us re think our mattress at home status. The breakfast in the lobby was delicious. Overall, I was compelled to write a review because of how surprised and satisfied I was with this hotel. If we need a place to stay in the area again I wouldn't think twice about re booking. read more
