There's always that fear factor whenever reserving budget accommodation, and this was no exception. The published reviews really didn't help put my mind at ease, either. All in all though, it was a decent two-night stay although not without some hesitation. - What's with these so-called non-smoking rooms that smell like anything but?! Clothes smelled just like the room as we left. - Water pressure both in the shower and the tap was very weak, and I ended up having to gyrate in the shower just so I could rinse all around. - Thin walls and noise issue...at least the baby stopped crying and the neighbours stopped yelling just long enough for us to stay asleep a decent amount. On the plus side, it's just up the road from Waffle House and a convenience store, although we didn't need either. Staff were reasonably friendly and we appreciate free WiFi and parking. read more

When we walked it it was hot and musty like someone had just taken a shower... we thought we were in someone else's room there were towels on the floor, wash cloths on the hangers, the room was absolutely DISGUSTING! Dirty used towels left on the sink, hair in the shower, coffee stains on the sink... DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE!! read more

Whatever you do. DO NOT stay here. I was in town for a conference at the base in Quantico. It looked so much better online. But when you get here. It's the complete opposite. This is by far the worst and I mean worst motel I ever stayed at. The overall place looked like total crap on the outside. The makeshift pool was filled with green water from all the rain. Parking lot had rocks and stuff all over it due to mostly truckers staying here because waffle house is right next door. When i got to the room. I noticed the door was already kicked in prior due to all the wedge marks on the door. Once I walked in the room I couldn't believe my eyes. It looked like a motel room from the show "Hotel hell" but far worst. Took some pictures to alert people on TripAdvisor and Yelp and left this dump. The lady at the desk wouldn't refund me even though i was only there for less then 30min. I just said whatever and left. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. read more

We are beyond grateful for staff and their hard work. They have been nothing but amazing towards my family and I. The rooms went above expectation from cleanliness and smelled great. They truly have made our stay amazing. Great job guys! read more

This place is absolutely disgusting. First the receptionist was rude. When I got to the room it smelled. The chair is ripped and the only way the toilet flushes is by removing the back of the rant and pulling the chain. I gotta say. After reading reviews on Yelp- I was expecting the worst. After 6 hours on the road... This place isn't the worst. If you're looking for somewhere to stay for the week- keep looking. However. If you're looking for a place to lay your head for a night or two this is a cheap spot that'll get the job done. read more

This Motel 6 is so disappointed and nasty! It's supposed to be one of the newer motels in the area which makes it even worst how bad it is. The receptionist was even like "if you decide to stay check out is at 10am" it's like she knew we were going be disappointed. There is no nice factor or wow even in the receptionist area. The only good thing this motel has it's a lot of parking. We got charged $20 more to check in at 2sh because check in was at 3pm which I have never had to pay especially when there is a such a low occupancy. The room was so bad!! My phone turned off that I couldn't even take pictures but I can tell you all the pictures and reviews here are true! The shower curtain was broken, black on the bathroom tiles, water wasn't even hot or cold no pressure and such a small tub. Dirty Dirty Dirty. She smell of weed so strong on a non-smoking area! I wouldn't recommend this place even to my worst enemy. This place needs new management, cleaning crew and front desk. read more

I will start off by saying that I needed a room because of the power outage in Stafford in January 2022 and I needed a room. My reservation was made online and I proceeded to the hotel. Once I arrived there was a couple and a single woman with about 4 children waiting to check in. The head clerk advised us that we would have to wait until 3:00 PM to check in and it was 2:40 PM. Mind you that there was a woman with small children and we were in the midst of one of the worst storms this area had in decades, so we waited while the clerk remained behind the glass counter until approximately 2:55 PM to check us in. Once checked in, we went to our room which was filthy, the linens and towels had a filthy appearance and the bathroom had cheap sparkle repairs and was at the least, atrocious. I regretted leaving my powerless house and will not even entertain staying in this hotel for any reason and would rather sleep in my truck! read more

Horrible do not stay here. The room was disgusting there was dust everyone it smelled like cigarettes. We wanted to leave early and the front desk said would only be charged for one night. We arrived on Thursday night and were planning to leave Friday morning but she charged me for 2 nights she said that we technically stayed for 2 night because we were still in the room Friday morning even though check out time was not until 11:30 and it was barely 10am. I work at a hotel and Im positive that that only counts as 1 night no matter what time you checked in as long as you're planning on leaving by check out time why would you charge an extra night that I did not stay there for!?! It took their dumbasses 2 hours to realize THEIR mistake! NEVER AGAIN! read more

A girlfriend and I are headed to Savannah in the morning and just wanted a place to stay for 1 night so we could avoid DC traffic (coming from MD). The first thing I noticed was that the pool was still filled and glowing blue, pretty sure the Motel 6 doesn't have a year round heated pool for their guests so not sure what the deal was. We ended up being put in a room that faced the pool and several times it sounded like kids running past our window (mind you it was after 11 pm). The beds were comfortable enough and for the most part the room was clean but it's clear this place has been neglected but we only needed the room for essentially 8 hours and they do allow pets so no biggie. I did notice all kinds of odd marks and gobs of God knows what all over the bathroom wall - kinda hard to miss since the toilet provides a direct view. I was hoping that a hair dryer would be supplied but this place just had the basics and not even all of those (why have a tissue dispenser if you're not gonna fill it?). We checked out super early the next morning and as we pulled up to the front desk entrance the desk clerk was out front with what was most definitely a prostitute who looked like she had yet to go to bed from the night before but skipped off to her room in a hurry when we got out of the car. Not sure if the Red Roof Inn next door is any better but if I'm ever thru this way again I'll definitely look for a better option. read more

I frequent Motel 6 because it's cheap, and I travel a lot for a living. I don't expect a cheap motel to have a ton of amenities. I just expect a clean room, and maybe a tv. This location is close to the interstate and just a few minutes away from Walmart and various fast food restaurants. So it is conveniently located. The rooms had potential to be really nice once, but they definitely weren't during my stay. The room was dirty and falling apart. The water didn't get hot, nor the heat. It was about 65 in the room and the heat kept shutting off, despite the fact the gap in the door let in a ton of cold air. Despite being a non smoking room, it smelled strongly of stale smoke. What scared me the most was the door. The door would not close properly. I had to body slam it to get the latch to take. Housekeeping failed to do this and the door was wide open when I came in from work. It was not a pleasant experience. The front desk was very nice, however, overall, I was disappointed with this location. read more

I am only giving one star because the front desk lady was nice. As a past housekeeper, your housekeepers need fired. Like the day after you hired them. We found blood and pubic hair all thru the beds meaning they were not changed. How lazy and gross. Also The towel at sink have shaved facial hair still wiped on it with blood as well. This place scares me. It was so dirty. Theres black long hairs clumps everywhere on the floor that got stuck on our feet so we wore shows at all times after that. Honestly you just need to better your cleaning because its atrocious. There was dirt piles in every corner meaning they havent cleaned floors in while or are terrible at using a broom. I wish I could get my money back but didnt want to argue for it and to find a new hotel after driving 6 hours. My mothwrs room had food crumbs all they the sheets and pubic hair as well. They moved us to a new room thankfully and the sheets looked better but we went to Walmart for antibacterial wash and cleaner. Anyone who thinks these rooms are acceptable probably needs to work on their personal hygiene as well. read more

Over the last 20+ yrs I must have stayed in 75-100 Motel 6s across the country. I am a pretty loyal customer. I usually stay anywhere from 1-4 nights depending on my purpose for traveling. Up until this weekend, the nicest Motel 6 I had ever stayed in was one in San Francisco. Beyond a doubt, my new favorite Motel 6 is this one that recently opened in Dumfries, VA. There's a few different reasons this location stands out: first of all it is clean- the lobby, grounds and especially the rooms. Spotless, yet comfortable. 2nd is the staff here. Normally, I forget staff members names, but the manager- Hiren Desai, not only greeted us, but made sure we had the exact type of room I hoped for and any requests we made were immediately responded too. He ensured I received a discount for being a disabled veteran. The customer service and attention to detail by the staff was of a caliber that is rare nowadays. The cleanliness and design of the interior of our room surpassed that of many more expensive motels I've stayed in the past. We felt so comfortable here we decided to stay an extra day. It truly was that much of a treat. Finally, not only was our room more affordable than less desirable motels. I would gave expected to pay at least 150% of what I paid, but it is also conveniently located by a freeway exit, a nice selection of restaurants and major shopping malls. My visit here was personal- visiting family members in nearby Woodbridge. Its nice to know there's such a nice place to stay during future visits. In general I'd give most Motel 6s around 2-3 stars. I stay for the convenience and affordability. But if you decide to stay at this location in Dumfries, I'm positive that compared to ANY other affordable Motel, you too will rate Dumfries Motel 6- Five Stars also. My loyalty to Motel 6 has just been renewed this weekend. It was such a pleasant surprise. read more

Motel 6 Dumfries, VA - Hotels Near Me - Dumfries, Virginia

I managed to stay here for $46 and was shocked I could find a place for so cheap. The guy who checked me in was perfect - friendly, polite, and to the point. Heater warmed up the room in January winter quickly. And pets stay free! The motel isn't luxurious, and for the price, that doesn't bother me at all. The place is not being properly cleaned as it seems other folks are mentioning. They don't provide soap or shampoo. There's a 7-Eleven that's walking distance to take care of that, but a (new) bar of soap for each guest would have been much appreciated and not that expensive. Overall? I'd avoid staying here again. The price and location along 95 were great, but I've been places for $60ish that are small and limited but at least provide soap to wash your hands and a clean room. It'd be worth spending a little extra cash (if you've got it) to have a clean place. read more

This establishment receives 3 stars - it deserves 1. I'm in 148. While it is perhaps a 2 star stay there is no iron do I had to buy one on base. Furthermore, the shower knobs are hard to turn, the tub builds up water, the neighbors are very loud, and there has yet to be a napkin in the napkin holder after 4 days. If you see this place, floor it and head in the opposite direction. Not to mention the place is a dump, but the other guests, it you can call them that, are horrible. They stay up all night running around the parking lot screaming and acting stupid until 4:00A.M.. There were kids, I mean between 4 and 6, running around screaming all night. Didn't sleep the few days I spent and I had a presentation at work one day. I wouldn't recommend this crummy place to my worst enemy. Well maybe my worst. read more

Stayed here last year. Received my room with my 3 boys. The door wouldn't close unless you slammed it. We got in at 11:30pm. The remote to the TV had no batteries. I finally crawled into bed and the mattress was wet. Smelled like urine. Asked for a new room. Had to carry our stuff where there was no parking lot (inside). As I was carrying my stuff, I tripped on concrete that was lifted. Got to the room refrigerator ran and rattled all night. Had enough. Left the next morning. Looked at the pool, no water. Nothing said it was being repaired. We were going to stay there for 3 days. Awful. read more

FLESH EATING BED BUGS THAT WILL LEACH YOUR BLOOD!! I have been a paying guest for over three weeks and have had the worst experience of my life. I have frequently stayed at motel 6 but have been horrified by this stay. There were bed bugs in my room, which had been documented and confirmed by a pest control professional. There was a massive flood in my room at night that required maintenance. I moved rooms twice due to cigarette smoke. There were sticky floors. Hair on my bed. Roaches in the bathroom. Prostitutes and police outside every night. If you like bugs eating your flesh while you sleep, then this is the place for you! The owner of the motel is a very shady Indian guy who doesn't care about his guest or staff for that matter. They all complained to me about him. STAY AWAY! ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!! read more

After searching and reading the reviews we ended up here on our late night trip up the I-95. We were hesitant based on the reviews and the place was hard to find in the dark. However we were pleasantly surprised. The front desk clerk was a nice young man with a good sense of humor and friendly who was not disgusting and didn't smell. He even helped us choose a good room from what was left. We were too tired to unpack much but the room had a fridge and microwave which we could have used. Just the basics and no rug but for $59 and one night.... We were happy. Check out was just as smooth. Negatives - the ice machine wasn't working by our room and no creamier for the free morning coffee but the desk clerk did go out of her way to look. The place was clean and great for our quick stop. read more

It's a Motel 6. You know what you're signing up for. The room itself was comfortable, though it definitely showed signs of wear. The floor in the bathroom definitely wasn't "dirty," though it absolutely showed signs of age and use. The staff was friendly, check-in was efficient, and the bed was comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. You know you're not staying at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York, NY. It delivered the exact expectation I was looking for in a hotel $20 cheaper than any other nearby location. I'd stay again if I had a need in the area. read more

Found this place at the last minute on Expedia to crash for the night when visiting DC. The reviews were mixed, wasn't expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, quiet, had a refrigerator, ice machine was close by, nice TV with good channel selections, heat worked fine. Clerks at the desk were very friendly, quick check in and they made an excellent recommendation for dinner after 9PM, at the El Paso Mexican Grill just down the road. The bathroom was kind of old and could be in better shape, but for ~$50 for the night, we were very happy and recommend it. read more

The two female employees i dealt with over my two day stay were great and were helpfull. However, the point of staying at a motel/hotel is to get sleep. This did'nt happen. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!! The area is very bad not much of a view or store but gas stations. I wasted money for 3 nights in that dump and they made me feel like I was begging to stay for free. I never got to eat anything there even though I was charged for breakfast . I paid for 3 nights when I asked the front desks she told me oh " it's something light anyway at 6am" which was never offered to me. They were rushing to have me leave I'm traveling and it felt like every night I paid was a bother to them. I lost my belongings and called back they weren't no help. I HONESTLY REGRET booking there I didn't no the service would be that bad. I remember ordering Uber eat I instructed the driver to leave the food at the front desk. I called none stop no one answered when I got downstairs there were 2 of the desk clerk sitting down ignoring the call and avoid Eye contact. They were VERY rude only time they play nice was when asking me if I'm checking out today for the 3 days I spent they made it uncomfortable for me to even want to stay longer! I will be contacting my bank! read more

Worst motel 6 in USA. First let's start off with I asked for no service and I had left to go see my sister for the day I come back and everything in my room is moved around and a phone is missing. I went down to ask them if they had seen a phone and the first thing she said was my employees don't steal ok not what I asked. I had stayed here for a couple of nights visiting my sister and my dog had left some scratches on the door which I was willing to pay for but the fact that my bank was over an hour an half away I had to go get the money to pay for it and i wouldn't be back till 12 am. I than asked them if I could pay for it after I returned or in the morning when I checked out since I didn't have a 100$ for a few scratches my dog put on the door. They were telling me I wasn't allowed back in my room at all. They refused to allow me to do this trying to force me to give them the only 30$ I had on me or to figure out a way to come up with a 100$ for a few scratches or they're going force me to leave which they couldn't do I paid for the night there and they couldn't cAll the cops. They preceded to try to say that I was lying about my bank which I wasn't. They were a nasty staff. I returned to my room trying to figure it out and they shut the rooms power off. What a ghetto faculty at this point I just left because I wasn't going back and forth with such a ghetto staff the main lady was atleast 50 working at motel 6 trying to tell me I was lying about my bank. I had enough and left. The rooms are dirty people smoke in them 24/7 even tho they're no smoking, people walking around all hours of the night. It's not a family place and I do not suggest coming here. The place has shown they care more about money than they do their customers. There is blood on the walls, crap on the floors, stuff left from other customers under the bed and sofa, the maids dont even do their job on cleaning but want to barge into peoples room afTer they asked for no cleaning. read more

It only gets one star because you HAVE to rate it. Ugh. Got my first King Bed room and the smoke detector was beeping because the backup battery was missing. Got that fixed to then find that the outlet that the tv was plugged into did not work. I plugged it into another outlet and then have the lower channels had no signal. When the maintenance guy came around he said you don't get those channels back here. So, I then switch rooms to their last King Bed. Note that's I booked this room 6 months in advance. The king is a queen. Whatever. The room smells like smoke and the smoke detector is gone. I tell them about it and not to charge me for smoking since I quit 7 years ago. Maintenance shows up again to try and find a detector that fits and works. Gets it done but then this one needs a battery too. I won't even get into the deadbolt not working or the lack of cleanliness. I actually spent $10 more to stay here this year for the MCM Event instead of next door but oh my God it's worse. Guess I should have stayed at the Holiday Inn. Lesson learned. read more
