My husband and I stayed in London for a week. Many hotels in London are pretty expensive. So we looked into hotels outside of the city to find something more affordable, and we found Holiday Inn Express, Ealing and we had a very pleasant experience here.
Pros:
- Breakfast
If you like having good breakfast like us, then this is a very good option. Breakfast is INCLUDED. It was very convenient and they had a good selection on the menu. Eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, bread, fruit, coffee and tea and etc. We enjoyed their breakfast menu very much. We were the first ones to be there at 6:30 almost everyday. You can also take it to-go. This helped us save cost on food during our trip.
- Location
There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. There are many stores around the hotel, walking distance, so it's very convenient if you need to buy something.
- Room & service
Staff there were very friendly and service was great.
Room was nice and clean. It was good for 2 of us. Bed was firm and comfortable, just the way we like it. Shower, toilet and sink were also nice and clean.
Cons:
- Location
Location was a pro because of things being bear by. However, Ealing is about 30 minutes away from London / the city and it took us about 45 minutes taking the tube (subway) and bus one way when we went out to the city. If you are traveling with kids or in a large group, or if you only have a few days to stay in London, you might want to look into something closer to the city. For us, we wanted to save money and didn't mind taking the public transportation so it worked out. But when it was cold at night, waiting for a bus at a bus stop outside in cold, rainy weather was't fun :/
- Amenities
They provide shampoo/body wash and hand soap.
I wish there was a bar soap and a conditioner provided as well. We ended up buying them at a store next door which didn't cost much. But even if they were cheap quality ones, I liked having a bar soap and conditioner already provided by the hotels we stayed.
We looked into Airbnb but the ones near the city were not that much cheaper and there's not much privacy. So Holiday Inn worked out really well for us. My husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we would definitely come back to Holiday Inn Ealing next time we are in London. If you are looking for an affordable hotel, I highly recommend this place. read more
