We were near the area so we stopped by later in the afternoon to try a few of their donuts. We ordered a day old, gluten free chocolate donut with matcha and a lemon chamomile poppyseed. The gluten free chocolate had a really good flavor. The consistency was more like a cake. The matcha icing did not really have a flavor. The lemon was okay but definitely more dense. The day older donuts are marked down from $3.50 to $2.00. I will definitely try them again. I'm glad to see there are gluten free options for those that need it. read more

I've started frequenting Holey Rollers recently, and it's a lovely little place. The doughnuts are wonderful. I'm partial to the yeast doughnuts, but the gluten free ones are great also. They have a really solid drink menu as well. I want to try so many things like their housemade chai concentrate. Their seasonal menu usually entraps me though. I will say that personally the drinks can get to be way too sweet, and I need to remember to ask for them to put less syrup in for me. Also, it can sometimes seem like they do not really know what's going on behind the bar, and it can take an interesting amount of time to make a drink. It seems like things move more efficiently when there's a rush though, so no real complaints. Morning coffee and doughnuts doesn't have to necessarily be the fastest service in the world. I did get to also encounter the food truck over the summer, and it was great and lovely. It was for a work event though, so my experience was a little skewed. All around lovely. Really solid donut place in Passeo. I'm not vegan but I don't mind trying vegan stuff especially desserts/sweets. The donuts here are delicious! I prefer yeast ones because they are light and fluffy, only tried one cake one but wasn't a fan. Their sandwich was also delicious, I recommend trying that. The workers here are also very nice. This place exceeded my expectations to say the least because I didn't think vegan donuts would be so darn good!!! They had the best coconut filled donut I ever had. It was so fresh and fluffy. Their breakfast taco was 7/10. The tortillas were a little soggy, but overall good. It was a little spicy, so if you can't handle a good kick I would avoid it. The service was good, but slow. I have been wanting to try this place for quite awhile, but I just haven't made the time but today I did. I did not call in and order ahead instead I read the menu on the door and the specials drink menu on the table to figure out what I wanted. Of course there was more than one donut that I wanted to try. Of course maple being my favorite I had to get the Maple Almond. I also got the Churro and Fritter. I also had to get a to wash these donuts down with so I deduced on the Lavender Rose Tea. I started with the churro first because it was the cake donut because usually I don't eat those because of the consistency of the middle. However not this time it was nice and airy and light it was a nice change for a cake donut. Then I went for the fritter to be exact, now I have never had a strawberry fritter before I bought so I could try it. I really didn't like the inside of the fritter maybe because I'm used to all of the filling throughout I don't know it just felt like something was missing but the icing was good to go. Now let me tell you about the Maple Almond Donut. It was so fabulous I don't know.if you can use (fabulous) to describe a donuts but that's what it was. Every inch of the donut was cover in slivered almonds. The amount of sweetness in the maple icing is perfect. Loved the gluten free donut choices! Mine was delicious and the seasonally themed decorations made them extra special! I was so bummed to miss their brunch - we had specifically driven here for it on our way to the airport. All of the donuts seemed to be lacking flavor (both in flavor strength and complexity), and some of the donuts were dry. Additionally, the building has a strange odor, probably from the donuts being fried in a poorly ventilated area in an old building, and there is an awkward entrance through a book store. For a minute there when they first opened it was a struggle with their fritters, but they got it worked out and now you just can't go wrong with any of them. Their menu is changing daily, weekly, or with the season, which keeps things fresh and fun each time you visit. I'd say you can't go wrong with whichever sweet delight calls out to you: lavender, almond, Red Bud, vanilla, mint chocolate cookie, oh my! A dozen of their donut holes are great way to impress your friends and they're a great deal, to boot. They have a small shop where you order drinks (coffee and tea options) and glorious dough-nut-y sweets (all vegan) and then you are welcome to grab a spot to sit inside in a back area that's hip and comfortable, or find a table outside, too; plenty of options. I can't stop tasting Holey Rollers' blackberry lavender lemon donut. Crispy in all the right places with a perfect tart and sweet icing covering a soft middle that melted in my mouth. The space is neat. When you walk in, you're welcomed by natural light pouring over the donut display. In the back, there's more space to sit and hang out. People were having a meeting, some were working by themselves, and others were reading. There's also a little bookstore in the back. There's a lot of different donuts to choose from and you won't be disappointed by any of them. They serve KLLR coffee too, pour over or however you like it. The interaction I had with Christopher, who was working at the time, was meaningful. When asked what his favorites were he genuinely answered. This niche donut shop exceeded my expectation. I've been a Holey Rollers fan for quite some time now. I was first introduced to their amazing and sometimes GF donuts because they donate them to KOSU for their volunteers during their fundraisers. It was here that I fell in love with the vanilla lavender donut. Normally, vanilla lavender is only something I'd like in a candle, but somehow Holey Rollers has made it into a sweet tranquil treat. To say I'm excited for them to open a store front is an understatement. I now can stop into the Paseo any time I get a craving for one of their cake-like delicious creations. It's just an added bonus that they opened up a coffee shop! This area needed a place to stop in to get coffee when strolling through the arts district.
