I walked in for a jelly donut a few days ago and found an old time treat: hand cut and cooked right like I used to make as a kid in the '50's! So I returned with my wife and accidentally discovered they had cannolis!! I asked the very lovely staff woman of the shells were crisp and fresh, and she laughed, saying I might be surprisingly pleased; her sister makes the filling and they may be the best I've encountered! Now, I spent a week in Manhattan on a Bicycle diligently researching the very best vanilla in NYC, finding it in a little family bakery near 39th and 9th. OMG! Ultimately I have to admit the service is better on the Cape, the server on the Cape more beautiful than I deserved, BUT..... Her cannoli at the Hole in One was the freshest, most perfect toasted almond and chocolate delight I have ever eaten! But I was not surprised other than how really delicious it was. Go there. Hands down, the best donuts and iced coffee on the Cape. All the donuts I've tried here are fantastic, which is probably why the line is out the door on weekends. Get there early, though, or they'll be out of donuts by the time you get there- after 11 or 12 the flavors cut down significantly. SOOOOO much better than Dunkin Donuts there's no point in comparing. This place gets pretty packed in the summer so go early. The donuts, bagels and coffee are all excellent. The staff is very friendly despite the craziness. In the offseason it's a nice locals hangout. This is one of out Cape "must do" spots. read more

These donuts are legit. They aren't overly sweet, so to me they are ideal for dunking in coffee. They have a nice thick donutty crust with lots of fried nooks and crannies -- they are very sturdy donuts. The cinnamon sugar was a highlight, as was the sour cream. The chocolate glazed could stand to be a bit more chocolate-y, and the honey dip and toasted nut were fine but nothing to write home about. We went to Hole in One this morning - there was a short line but it was well worth the wait. The girl who waited on us was friendly with a great smile. We got a dozen of the most moist, delicious donuts and 2 large coffees to go. They put out a large bowl of donut holes for sampling. The display case was full of every yummy sweet you could imagine. We definitely recommend stopping by for coffee, dessert or donuts. We will be back before we leave :) read more

I've been getting donuts at hole-in-one for as many years as I can remember. It's a Cape Cod tradition. The favorite for my family is the jelly stick and since they tend to sell out, we send someone for them early! Like 6am early. Whoopie sticks are also amazing but they don't make them often (why!?). Their other donuts are good too, but the jelly stick is what keeps us coming back. Is there a line at 10am on Saturday in the summer? Yes. Isn't that the case everywhere on the Cape, though? It moves fast. The iced coffee is great too! Oh, and you can't beat the price, especially for a touristy area. read more

Not everything I was hoping for. Waited 25 minutes to be seated at the counter, that was fine I don't mind waiting if it's worth it. Had eggs Benedict over hash. The hash was surprisingly bland. The hollandaise sauce was broken, overcooked and pretty tasteless. Also had the 2 by 2, eggs were ordered over medium, I couldn't eat them they were so snotty. French toast was very tasty and Nannys potatoes pancakes were spot on. Will try the donuts next time. read more

Best donuts on the Cape! The service is quick and pleasant. The secret to skipping the line is to take a seat at the counter and simply order donuts and coffee from there. The blueberry muffin is to die for (especially heated up with a side of butter) as is the cinnamon bun and the toasted bagels. Best..donuts..ever! Totally ruined me for the week - there goes the diet!! My sister in law went early and when I woke up the yumminess (yumminess? Is that even a word??) was calling my name and I picked at them all day, and the next day!! Can't even describe the icing, but it's nothing like the tasteless sticky goo at dunks.
