This is one of a few Venezuelan restaurants in the DFW area with a wide menu. We ordered some tequenos, cachapa trio, sancocho, and arepa. Tequenos are their version of cheese sticks and came with a side of delicious creamy and herby sauce to dip in to. Cachapa definitely stood out as it had tasty balance of slightly sweet (from corn pancake) with savory from the cheese and three versions of meat that came on the side. The avocado shredded chicken was cold but besides that, the rest of the meat were good. Sancocho was another contender with warm flavorful broth with lots of hearty vegetables including pumpkin and some kind of unique squash. The beef shank was pretty tender as well. Arepas were also decent but didn't stand out as much as other items. Overall, this was a great place to try very decent Argentinian food in an authentic environment where the staff doesn't speak English very well. Give it a try!

I love Arepas! Many years ago, my sweet Venezuelan friend and I would meet for tennis religiously and the. Eat arepas religiously- best part of working out. They were so hot and fresh and buttery and oooey-gooey when we filled them cheese and ham. What I remember most was waiting and waiting and waiting for them to be done. Today, that was not the case. I so desperately wanted to love this place because the young ladies that greeted me were so welcoming and nice- however, I was overcharged by one arepa- I only ordered one, charged for two. Super disappointing. I also order a side of yuca fries, big mistake- they were very stale, rubbery, and tasted like cardboard- no salt, no seasoning, no crisp, no satisfaction. Horrible. I feel like they were in the refrigerator before I ordered them. Not fresh at all! Then I moved on to the arepa- grease galore- dripping from the styrofoam. The chunks of pork were so large and fatty it was sickening, cutting it into tiny tiny pieces would make it so much more edible and flavorful. A little salt and pepper and seasoning. The meat was not hot and did not taste freshly made. I literally threw away $20, it was not appetizing. They could make it great with a few tweaks. I'm sad I didn't get to experience great Venezuelan food tonight. Incredibly disappointing- especially since I was overcharged.

Went on a slow night but we were seated quickly and the server was nice. She made good recommendations as it was our first time eating Venezuelan food. Highly recommend the arepas!y husband loved the Patacón (big serving- he asked for crispy plantain). Also ordered a Papelon con limones (kind of like a lemonade) and it was really good too. They also have karaoke nights and the music they played while we dined was a good Latin mix. Overall it was good.

Great authentic Venezuelan food. The service was quick and friendly. I can't say enough about how great everything tasted. It's one of those places that I frequently have cravings for. Try the cachapa for sure, it's divine! Arepa is amazing here. Also love their beef soup sancocho.

Not sure the name, but the first "Street Food" burger listed OMG! So good! I'll be back! Thank you!

Not sure the name, but first burger under "Street Food" page. So many unique flavors. Fresh. I'll be back! Gracias!

Food was ok but not amazing and definitely not worth the price. I ended up paying $151 for 2 arepas, 1 cachapa that you can tell that was made from the package and not from scratch, 1 pepito with a little bit of meat and not with all the ingredients that it should have, 1 (3) tostones trío with a tiny soggy tostón and flavorless carne mechada, 1 pechuga a la parrilla that was flavorless con yuca that was hard and dry y ensalada and a sancocho that didn't even have all the ingredients that a sancocho calls for. I ended up getting charged an incorrect price for the Sancocho that I ordered for my daughter and when I brought it up to them they kept saying that it's because it came with an arepa. However I did not order that one and all they replied with was "but she ate it the arepa". I am extremely disappointed first and last time eating at this place. The only nice thing is the establishment.

If you've never been here, you must come! We ordered Tequeños (appetizer), Asado Negro, Parrilla Hola Especial, and chicken nuggets (for our daughter). The food was delicious!! The staff was friendly! Definitely worth coming back.

Great Venezuelan food. Just as good as mom's homemade Venezuelan food. I would definitely come back. The place is clean, cool and the back ground Venezuelan music brings back great memories of Venezuela.

The place is very well maintained, and enjoyable, they put background music which makes the atmosphere better. We went for lunch time, and the place was empty until about 12:30pm when it become very busy. We had the sancocho, pabellón, and the cachapas with pork, which three typical Venezuelan plates. The desert they have tres leches and quesillo, which is like an egg pudding. They have natural juices, including mango and passion fruit. The food was extremely healthy and tasty!

El Papelon made with Santa Teresa Venezuelan Rum. It is SO GOOD. Fresh and not too sweet. Perfect drink.

Excellent service, food, full bar, stage for live music. The chicken salad arepa was a full meal at reasonable pricing.

Never received service. After waiting 15 minutes and watching a table seated after us receive their drinks, we decided to leave.

So good I had to leave a review. Great restaurant tucked away amongst all of this retail. Very authentic. I would leave 10 stars if I could!

I live walking distance from this place and never even knew it existed! How is that possible?!…read more They serve a variety of classic staple Venezuelan food such as arepas, patacones, lomo saltado, salchipapas, etc. I was super excited about the patacones, which is essentially a jibaritos. It's basically a sandwich, but instead of regular bread, fried smashed plantains are used instead. The boyfriend and I, of course ordered the hamburger and patacones to share between the two of us. Both were very tasty and highly recommended. While the patacon was amazing, and I plan to return for more patacon in the near future, I wish the fried smashed plaintains were a little bit more crispy and maybe garlicky. The burger was super tasty. I ordered it with steak and pork chop. I thought maybe steak with pork chop would be weird but it was such a heavenly match. I had trouble with the menu since there were no pictures. However, the server we had was super awesome. She showed me their instagram filled with pictures and it helped plenty.

If you are not Spanish speaking, this place can come off quite intimidating for some with few stares and glances from customers and workers. If you are not familiar with Spanish, I would also say ordering or viewing the menu may be a challenge. I'm able to read the menu without a problem but speaking remains a challenge. The empanadas are different than a dominican pastelito for example. The breading on these lean on the sweeter side and are filled with either carne, cheese, jamon and cheese and other options. The cheese pasteles I found to be salty but good. My favorite are the potato and cheese empanadas, yum. The steak is okay and I find quite dry since its only stuffed with meat and nothing else. Order the passion fruit juice, it's refreshing and a great balance of tart and sweet. They do run out of things or may be a long wait for some items so it might be best to come early in the day. Plenty of parking is available in the strip mall!
