Service was fairly quick, staff very courteous and helpful - in case you don't speak Spanish or aren't familiar with the Venezuelan dishes. I came here for lunch with my colleagues on a weekday. We were a little confused seeing the other Big Yummy when we pulled up, but quickly realized that this was the restaurant and that was a bakery/market. When we entered, we saw a few people inside and two young women at the register. On the left side of the register, there was an area for pastries/baked goods. Most of the items were taken. When looking at the menu, we weren't too sure what a lot of the items were so a quick Google search helped. The young ladies at the front also explained what some of the terms were as we were unfamiliar. I'd recommend adding what some of the meats are in italics for more awareness. I ended up ordering a Pastelitos Queso and Cachapa con Queso. Both my colleagues ordered the Arroz con Chuleta (Rice with Pork). The Pastelitos Queso was basically a square block of salted Venezuelan cheese that was then fried. It was pretty salty and I was only able to finish half of it. Wasn't too sure if it's supposed to accompany something. The Cachapa con Queso was interesting. It was like a quesadilla made out of corn (sweet) and the filling was this stretchy salted cheese. I thought the balance of salt and sweet was quite nice. It was also very filling! The cheese on top was a little salty as well. Not sure how this would be with meat, but I'll give it a try if I go to another Venezuelan restaurant. My colleagues indicated that their meal (Rice, Pork, and Plantains) was good, but not as filling as they had hoped. One of them was still a little hungry. They were however pleasantly surprised. We all enjoyed our meals here and were glad that this was the restaurant we chose for our first Venezuelan restaurant. read more

The spot is nice and they have a separate bakery you could walk to that has a bunch of Venezuelan snacks. The food is super tasty and fresh, it took me back to my youth. They have a good variety from all Venezuelan classic dishes like arepas, Cachapas, parrillas, sancocho (soup), and more. The place is pretty enjoyable, you order in the counter and they give you a viper. There are plenty of tables even for larger groups, but the place itself is not very big, so on the weekends it might get packed. They have bathrooms (by gender), and parking is available. Was in Texas for a hair cutting class and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant by accident, it's just down the street from my class at Toni & Guy. Omg what a amazing & delicious find. The man at the counter was so nice & helpful since I've never had try anything on their menu. He was patient and help explain the menu to me.
