I am so happy this AYCE Japanese restaurant opened! We normally visit Japan House but over time the quality has gone down. My first impression of the building was average- there were many random Andes Mint chocolates melted leading up the entrance. We stood at the front for about 5 mins before anyone acknowledged us- this is the only reason I gave 4 stars. The inside is very modern, bright, and open with some booths for a more intimate feeling. We were very comfortable with our table and had plenty of TVs to choose from with various sports playing. You get a tablet to order all your food- as many items or rounds as you want and no time limit for $34.95. There are many great options! And beware...the sushi rolls are full rolls! We ordered many different things but my favorites were: Tower Roll, miso soup, crab Rangoons, and the yellowtail jalapeno (PHENOMENAL!!!). We got so stuffed after 2 orders so we didn't get to try so many things we had our eyes on but we will most definitely be back! read more

When it comes to an AYCE establishment I find that a big appetite along with slightly lowered expectations usually yields the best experience. So my family and I skipped breakfast before going to Hokkaido, excited for lots of food and little concern that might not be a 5 star meal. The excitement continued after immediately being seated and handed a tablet containing the menu. The AYCE options seemed endless. And, ordering was a breeze since you simply add whatever you want to the "cart" and it gets sent straight to the kitchen. I wish more restaurants would adopt this system as it seems to greatly reduce the likelihood of human error. The food itself was where the highs and lows came in. Some things like the Black Dragon and Dynamite rolls were expertly constructed and tasted absolutely delicious. Others, like the Salmon and Mango Delight rolls weren't so notable. We were intrigued by the combination of mango and sushi, but it ended up being more strange than good. The rest of the dishes fell somewhere in between. In other words, not the best and not the worst. When we got the bill we noticed that they included some kind of service charge. Nowhere did it explicitly state that there would be a mandatory gratuity, but I'm pretty sure that's what it was. My husband still checked the 20% tip box because he said that the server looming over him felt a little coercive. Plus, we were celebrating a birthday and didn't want to kick up a big fuss. That extra charge made my son's free birthday meal not so free anymore though. read more

I would say this visit was more 3.5 stars, but I rounded up as some things could still just be them working out the kinks. I was here during lunch, and the service was quick and friendly. I was given the rundown and brought some water. They don't do sashimi for lunch and the beverages are extra, but everything else was included. You just choose what you want on the tablet and check out. It was even alerting you to what was sold out. I found it helpful that there were pictures. Ayce places typically have smaller portions and that is nice as it allows you to try more things. We tried the three tatakis, beef, tuna, and salmon. I wasn't too crazy about the sauce and thought the beef a bit chewy. The yellow tail jalapenos was sliced very thin, but was tasty. That was a winner. There were a couple of things that came out, where I felt someone in the kitchen had a bit of a heavy hand. The seaweed salad was just drowning in sesame oil, it was all you could taste. And the rice was very sweet. This is what dropped it down a peg to 3.5, for me. But it could have just been one guy, that day. I won't hold it against them. As for the sushi, I tried the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and red snapper. I was happily surprised at the quality of the fish. The thickness was just right for the size of the bites and everything was fresh and tender. Wasabi does need to be ordered from the tablet, it does not automatically come with the sushi. Lunch was $22.95 pp and I think that is a good deal. One more thing to note, they add the tax into their tip suggestions, instead of showing for the cost of good and services. The sushi menu offers plenty of variety, and the portions are generous -- definitely a strong point. The fish is reasonably fresh and the flavors are decent. It's certainly enjoyable, though not noticeably different from other casual sushi spots in the U.S. What truly stands out are the stir‑fried beef dishes and similar items. Those are exceptional, and absolutely something I'd recommend to everyone. Unfortunately, the agedashi tofu was disappointing -- honestly the worst I've had. The coating tasted floury, suggesting the ratio of wheat flour to potato starch needs improvement, and the broth was extremely weak with no real dashi flavor. Still, the stir‑fried dishes are excellent and come in many varieties, making this a great place for groups, especially if someone isn't into sushi or seafood. read more

Finally a sushi AYCE nearby that is all about service, quality at right price. I am not an expert but I do like a good salmon, eel and jalapeño yellowtail. With food prices these days, this is a great deal for freshi sushi and dessert too. This is a few place that has dessert like tiramisu, and ice cream. We went for weekday lunch and he went on weekend (dinner price). The lunch price for all varieties of sushi, hand roll, soup, hibachi. Even if you're not eating much, you would have paid same for a bentos box or roll at other places. I mainly got multiple orders of jalapeno tail, rainbow roll and eel roll. Shashimi aren't part of lunch but there are plenty of sushi to choose from. It is clean and the servers are super friendly. Supports local business folks! read more

For starters, the all you can eat was $35/adult so we expected above average sushi. The salad starters and sashimi were good quality. The udon noodles were okay - tasted like they could've been frozen and reheated. The sushi rolls tasted premade and most of them fell apart when grabbing them with chopsticks. The hibachi steak was yummy, though, and was cooked medium/medium well. However, taking 20-30 mins for two rolls when there's only 5 tables in the whole place? Ridiculous. The service was subpar and honestly so slow for how empty they were. We waited 20 minutes with empty water glasses with multiple servers walking around. We paid $170 for a very mid dinner. Not impressed. And we were so sad the cake at the end was literally a 1" x 1" thin piece of cake that was half icing anyway. Don't recommend. We won't be back. read more

Wonderful experience at Hokkaido last night. Sushi was fresh and hot items were delicious. The dishes came out pretty fast too. I love the interior design of the restaurant. It felt upscale and did not feel like an ayce restaurant. My server was really friendly and was attentive but not too much. Checked out the new Japanese AYCE restaurant and it was great! The choices were numerous and it encouraged me to try a few things I would not have otherwise had I been ordering a la carte. Ben was a wonderful server as well. Miso, Wonton, and Seafood Soups were all good. Wonton had a nice broth with thin skin wontons. Miso soup left you smiling. Salmon tataki was nice and melts in your mouth. Beef tataki was good as well. Salmon rose - salmon wrapped around rice, with a little spicy mayo and roe on top was a pleasant bite. Shumai was interesting, but not my favorite as it was prepared differently than expected. Fried scallops were perfectly cooked, but could use a little more salt. Tempura shrimp - wow!!!! Super light, cooked perfectly. Just like you'd want it to crunch as you bite into it and be tender as you eat it. :-) Salmon sushi was excellent - delicious fresh salmon. Great salmon to rice ratio. Eel sushi - yum!! Delicious flavor and melts in your mouth. What a great bite! Very much enjoyed eating the sushi. Hibachi Beef was nice, soft, juicy flavorful. Large portion for ayce small plate. So didn't need to order a 2nd one. Hibachi salmon was good as well, but I preferred the beef. It's crazy. Just a few more dollars than supermarket sushi and you get the world! And for the Asian kid in you wanting to have some fun, ask for the 'Off the menu' - rice cream. What a great meal and deal overall. So many fantastic options and all included! I don't normally go to all you can eat anything but I was blinded by the we are now open banners and flags as I drove by so I came in without realizing it was AYCE. When I found out is was, I almost left, but I am sure glad I didn't! This place was fantastic! Walking in the place is way nicer on the inside than it appeared on the outside. Not that it looks bad on the outside, it just is way nice on the inside! Once seated they hand you a tablet from which you will order. Basically, you just click on pictures to learn more and the + sign of you want to add the item to your cart. Once you click order from the cart they go into action and bring you out your food. My wife surprised me with sushi for Father's Day, and it was a fantastic experience. She called in the order and picked it up, and everything was exactly as requested. I had no idea she was bringing it home, so it made for an even better surprise! The customer service was excellent, the sushi was fresh and delicious, and you could tell care was put into both the food and the overall experience. We're big fans of AYCE sushi, so we came to check out Hokkaido Sushi AYCE as soon as we heard they opened about 20 days ago. They may still be in their soft‑opening phase, but the experience was smooth overall. Ordering from the iPad was quick and easy, and the menu layout was simple to navigate. The selections are similar to other AYCE spots, but their Dragon Balls really stood out -- unique, flavorful, and absolutely a must‑try. The specialty rolls were solid as well, and I was happy to see they offer a riceless cucumber roll option. The avocado salad, however, was underwhelming -- just a few slices of avocado on a small bed of lettuce with barely any dressing, so it tasted pretty plain. We also didn't see any sashimi options on the iPad, which might be because we came during lunch rather than dinner. For an AYCE, this was pretty good! Appetizer: my sister and I ordered miso soup, seaweed salad, crab Rangoon, sweet potato tempura and Broccoli tempura. All were decent except the crab Rangoon was all cream cheese, no crab meat (not even imitation crab), and the tempura veggies were a bit over battered for my taste. Stir fry: we got a beef udon stir fry and it was just ok. Wasn't bland or anything but certainly nothing crazy flavorful. Sushi: nigiri and sashimi were surprisingly good, especially their "flame" pieces which are just torched. Their flame salmon is something I would definitely come back for. Dessert: they have a small assortment of ice creams and mousse cakes. Green tea ice cream was the best IMO! Service: all good! Everyone was kind and attentive. Food is pretty good for a sushi buffet, but the service is some of the worst I've experienced. We've been several times when the restaurant was only half full, yet it consistently took 20-30 minutes to get our food. We usually stop eating out of frustration rather than being full. This last time, I politely asked a server to check on our food because it was taking so long, and he responded, "Don't talk to me that way!" Really? All I said was, "Can you please check on our food?" Decent food, but the consistently terrible service makes it hard to come back. read more

I went with a group of 7 friends and right off the bat the service wasn't that great, we got some food dropped on us but mistakes happen so its whatever. They didn't seem that apologetic but i guess thats okay too. What really upset me was that tip was already included but none of us were aware until after we already paid. We weren't told tip was included and they put the tip screen toward us like we were supposed to tip. Even though the service was meh i still wanted to tip 20% but in the end i tipped closer to 40%. Please make a better system for this by either telling us that tip is included, indicate on the screen that it has already been included, or just x out of the tip screen for us. read more

They had a bit of a hard time keeping up with water delivery to table and no ice after first class. Very small dishes of ginger and wasabi so we had to keep asking for more. The service was lacking big time at this sushi spot. It was my first time in and it took a while for someone to acknowledge me to get me seated. I saw my server twice the entire time and came to find out he'd disappeared in the middle of his shift. He just left. Apparently their staff was looking for him. I didn't even get a warning, no apologies, and nobody picked up his slack to wait on me, even though they saw me sitting there a while. The ambiance was dull and the food was Ok for the price. I finally decided to get up and walk to the register and wave someone down to pay so I can leave. Then they had the nerve to ask ME what happened I was like ummm if yall don't know what happened with your employee neither do I.... I'm not sure if they're hurting in terms of staff but it was a disappointing experience nonetheless. read more

I ordered takeout sushi from Hokkaido through Instacart on July 27, 2026. I was extremely disappointed. I ordered two classic rolls (tuna and salmon) There was hardly any fish on either roll and both were minuscule. I also ordered miso soup. It was overly salty. The only positive with this order was the healthy portion of edamame. To make matters worse, there was no wasabi, no ginger, no soy sauce, no napkins, and no chopsticks. Never in my life have I eaten sushi with a fork except this time! Thankfully I ordered it from home! My receipt said "no utensils, etc.,"; however when I placed my order I DID NOT include those instructions. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from Hokkaido again. This was a horrible experience.
