Seems they almost always have or can get what I need with friendly, helpful staff and competitive prices.

We were supposed to have appliances delivered today and were told they would call ahead to let us know they'd be here shortly. They were delivering 3 appliances for my house and 1 for my parents (they live up the street) and we gave them my phone number to call ahead. I double checked that was the number they would be calling before leaving the service counter after purchase. Well wouldn't you know today they supposedly made 3 attempts to deliver with no one home (I was one block up the street at my parents and able to return in under a minute as needed.) They called the wrong number (my dad's) and when he called back after missing their ONE call, they never answered and he couldn't leave a VM. Now delivery is going to have to be Saturday interrupting plans we've had all summer if we want them this week (we needed them ASAP.)

I have been trying for three days now to help a friend with a return of a washing machine…read more I am deeply disappointed with the inflexibility of the return policy and the brush-off that we received from customer service, both in person and online. She purchased a washing machine that does not serve her; she is almost 80 years old and has some physical challenges. The machine she purchased is one that she cannot use comfortably. All that we have been asking for is some consideration in returning for a different model. I have been told by Lowe's that my only option is to talk to Samsung, who tells me that my only option is to talk to Lowe's. $400 should not make a difference to either company. It hurts to know that Lowe's, who I have used for years for my contracting business, does not care for anyone over the age of maybe 30 or with physical challenges. The lack of consideration has been frankly appalling and does not reflect any empathy or care for individuals in situations such as this. Looking at market values today, Lowe's is at $268 billion and Samsung at $266 billion. The removal and replacement of a washer for someone unable to use it will not move the financial needle on those numbers, but perhaps caring for your customers would.

8/12/25 2:30 p.m…read more We have been here several times and plan to continue to go back. The overall selection is pretty phenomenal, and the store (plus the outdoor side) is quite large. Inventory seems to always be pretty well stocked. The layout can be a little confusing at times, especially if you're trying to find something that you saw on their website. Yes, the aisles are labeled, but they can be a bit off, which adds to the confusion. The store is kept clean and organized; nothing is scattered around or lying in the aisles. The employee interactions that we have had have been somewhat mediocre. The first time we had to ask a question about something, the employee that we interacted with was very pleasant and greeted us with a smile. She walked around to make sure that we found what we were looking for and answered all of the questions that we had. She was very patient with us. The second time that we had to ask an employee a question, he seemed very annoyed that we were even there, let alone asking him a question. He gave us a very simple answer and then walked away without even clarifying what he had just told us or making sure that we found what we were looking for. It seems pretty hit or miss, which is kind of expected at such a large place.

There is plenty of parking in its private lot, and its location is less than a mile from Highway 30 and the 35/30 junction in Ames. We were impressed by the assistance we received from Gina and Myles. They genuinely cared about our end game and were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Gina tipped us off about a product and then walked us through the many options, while Myles was so kind as we thought through key needs. This store really works, and will be a prime option moving forward!

This was not the first time I was in there and it was this way. I stopped in once around 10 am and it was closed. Unlike most of the "dollar' stores out there, Dollar Tree's claim to fame is that everything in…read morethere is a dollar. Like, literally everything. Once in awhile, you'll catch something for 4 for $1 or something (such as the Christmas candy canes they have on clearance right now), but everything in their store is $1. It makes it honestly pretty easy to shop since I'm never wondering about the price tag. This is a nice-looking Dollar Tree that has quite a bit of room on the inside. You can find name-brand items like Pop-Tarts and whatnot, but in some cases, their packaging/box size has been reduced to make it cost-effective to sell for a dollar. This store has stationary, automobile, hardware, some clothes, dishes, beauty supplies, cleaning supplies, lots of food including frozen food, party supplies, kids toys, books, kitchen gadgets, pregnancy tests, and more. I would very, very highly recommend Dollar Tree as the place to get party supplies. They have a plethora of color options and it's all very cheap. They have tablecloths, plastic silverware, plates, noisemakers, and lots of other stuff. It's seriously a fantastic way to do a "decorated" party on the cheap. I came here looking for pins for sewing, but they don't have any. In the past, I've come here for some of their kitchen supplies. Getting a strainer and measuring cups for a dollar is a fantastically good price. When I've come, it's usually clean-ish. It's not immaculate, but it's clean. Shelves are usually pretty organized, and it's not like stuff is strewn all over the place. Usually most things are in-stock and ready to be purchased. I like the parking lot. It's large and makes it easy to get around without fussing with horrible hills or bad traffic like the other dollar store in town. As a note, I don't think they have a bathroom here. For cyclists, they do not have a bicycle rack, but they have long, metal poles that support the outside of the building that you can lock your bike to. I've locked them there in the past without any issue. Final thoughts: It's a good place to pick up random items for $1. You have to make sure what you're buying is worth a dollar as, in some cases, it seems like you might be able to get some of these items cheaper elsewhere. As a whole, though, you definitely save money by shopping at Dollar Tree for lots of household supplies instead of going to another big box store. They don't have enough grocery selection to do all of your grocery shopping here, but they do have a lot of various household items. I would especially recommend this place to anyone moving into a new home who needs household supplies.
