The cashier was very helpful since it was my first time there and I think the order he recommended was a great first impression. This place is hidden in a business complex on the left to sugarbee (right when you enter it should be on your left). There is no sign on too but they don't have a little board outside with their opening hours. There is plenty of parking. Inside is small but has plenty of decorations and light to make it feel welcoming . went here on a Friday afternoon with no wait at all! I was greeted right when I walked in and they informed me that there was no boba for at least 20 minutes. Although I was excited to try the boba, the drink I got didn't need it at all. I asked for recommendations and they gave me a good description of what it would be like. I adored the simplicity of the menu bc it can get overwhelming sometimes with a large menu. I decided on the black sesame + hojicha w 75% sweetness. My drink was very refreshing and didn't have too much ice which i appreciated! It was a good amount of sweetness too! The nuttiness of the hojicha and the black sesame balances each other well! The price I paid was around $5 which really isn't bad compared to chain boba places. They offer cute stamp/business cards where you get a free drink after 10 stamps. I would go here again to support this pop up if I'm in the area again. read more

Best Boba in the Inland Empire. Super fresh and the boba is just perfectly chewy. Their drinks are a perfect balance of tea and milk, and are not overwhelming artificially sweet like most boba places are. They are a little hard to find (they don't have a big sign on top of their front entrance) but they're right next to the "Cooking Block". The place doesn't have a lot of seating but great ambiance and the staff was so friendly. I got the matcha oatmilk boba as slightly sweet and it was amazing! The boba was fresh and soft and it was the perfect amount of sweet and matcha mixed together. It's a hole-in-the-wall boba shop between Allstate Printing and Sugarbee. It took me a awhile to find since there is no signage on the front of the shop. I ordered the hojicha oat milk with 50% sweetness and boba for $5.00 (75 cents for boba). The sweetness was not enough for me when 50% sweetness level is still too sweet at other boba shops. The boba was a bit soft and I thought they could've added more given the charge is typical for other boba shops. The hojicha was decent. I would return to increase the sweetness now that I know and the price is not too bad either. There is no seating inside as it is very small. The plaza has ample parking; however, there is church on Sundays so it can get packed. The plaza does not have a sidewalk so be careful when you're walking and/or driving. read more

What a hidden gem! Hoji has delicious, well made teas. I love how they focus on the tea and finding ingredients to complement the flavors instead of overpowering with other flavors or sweetness. I don't think there's a sign over the door, so it might be a little hard to find the first time. Look for some tables and chairs outside and it's right next door to a cooking school. The rose hojicha + sea cream has a light and delicate flavor. It's a big contrast in comparison to the black sesame hojicha, which has a more robust flavor. Both are excellent drinks in their own ways, but my favorite is the black sesame half sweet. The boba has great flavor, but is a bit overly soft in my opinion. I rarely get boba, though, so I'm far from an expert on what is ideal. Jeremy and Jed were more than happy to answer any questions I had about the different drinks and give me recommendations. Overall, this is the best tea shop I've found in SoCal, it just sucks I live so far away. It's a must visit if I'm in the area again. read more

Hoji is a hole in the wall shop that has a really cute, comforting and minimalist interior. The owners are very kind which makes the environment of the shop feel friendly! Hoji Tea Room has been my go to for their tea and their handmade boba. I've been obsessed with the quality of their teas especially their Mizudashi Hojicha and Nilgiri Black Tea. Their teas are always refreshing and have the perfect amount of sweetness. What I love about Hoji is that they don't use powders or syrups and I really appreciate their dedication to promoting quality. On top of that, they take the time to hand make boba every morning which only enhances the craftsmanship. I also love how soft the boba is and continues to remain the same consistency all throughout the drink, despite the addition of ice. The particular characteristic that I love about hoji is that they don't have that lingering aftertaste that most boba shops have because of their use of powders and syrups. Their Mizudashi Hojicha and Nilgiri Black Tea have become my favorite drinks! Their Assam and Barley are equally as amazing and refreshing and it's also low caffeine which is a plus. Their Sea Cream is the perfect amount of sweetness, saltiness and creaminess when I crave a milk tea. I also love that they have Black Sesame Sea Cream which adds the right amount of nuttiness. Hoji is a new addition to Redlands that is really bringing the town into a new era. Redlands has a lot of low quality, chain boba shops but the coffee scene has been great for years. Hoji brings that great, community-oriented, high quality product culture to their teas and you can taste it. Their boba is authentic and handmade every day, and their teas are directly imported, which they brew in small batches to ensure top tier flavor and soft chewy boba. Like, you think boba is chewy and tea is bitter unless you add milk and syrups? Not here. They're really mastering their craft and it's awesome to see it. Their main thing is hojicha, which is nutty and kind of reminds me of chestnuts. Not bitter at all, and amazing with their sea cream, but honestly it's great on its own. I'd never tried hojicha before, and most boba shops make "hojicha" by mixing oolong and green tea so this blew my mind. I can see why this is their focus. Super low caffeine content. If you're looking for caffeine though, their nilgiri black tea is a go-to. It's refreshing and almost fruity. I love this with their black sesame sea cream. Their assam is similar, although a more traditional black tea flavor, and a little stronger. If you really want that caffeine boost though, their newer matcha drink is incredible. Not fishy, not bitter, not overly grassy. Just rich, almost like dark chocolate. Super smooth and pairs so well with oat milk. Beautiful jade green color. Cannot recommend enough, this is my favorite. Finally their Thai tea. Just rich, warm, perfect level of spice balanced with a rich sea cream. Not too sweet, which is kind of a constant problem with other thai teas. Might be their most flavorful drink if you're looking for something that packs flavor. This and their matcha are their richest drinks, while the hojicha and nilgiri teas are light and refreshing. Also, the boba. Where do you even start. Soft, melts in your mouth, perfect syrupy-ness. Where do you even find handmade boba? Who else is doing this?? The owners are also huge tea-enthusiasts and will sometimes offer unique teas that they're experimenting with or just enjoy. Their menu is very dynamic, in addition to its staples of course, and they big on supporting other local businesses (cookies, and small artisanal matcha bowls or art pieces). The shop is small and a little hidden away but the vibes are so! good!! They put so much effort and passion into this and their mission seems to just be about sharing great tea with Redlands, which explains their super low prices honestly. Tried a Thai tea and a nilgiri both with no boba. And wow the flavors were amazing! The Thai tea wasnt as watery and tasted freshly brewed not the overly sweet powdered mix that most places around me uses. Then I tried the nilgiri and it was refreshing and lightly sweetened and tasted like a chai tea base without the spices but still delicious. Definitely a hidden gem! read more
