You know when Happy Gilmore has to close his eyes and focus on his happy place to calm his rage and play good golf? (You don't? How have you not seen Happy Gilmore in this the year of 2026?...) That's what Hogsmeade Village is for me. For a lot of us. I absolutely love the music, the soundtrack, the attention to detail. The butterbeer? And moreover the butterbeer foam?? Legendary. I love letting my inner imagineer play while at Hogsmeade Village. One of my favorite spots is crossing the bridge over to Jurassic World and just staring up at the beautiful architecture of the Hogwarts Castle. I also found the Team Members extremely delightful and helpful while doing my wand spells. And my favorite wand quest does end in Hogsmeade with the Dueling Club. If you haven't done that quest yet, it is a must! read more

I love Frozen Butterbeer!! Every time I visit Universal Studios, I just have to get one! Hogsmeade Village has it! It's located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando Florida. As you walk inside the area from the Mythical Islands portion, you'll go through the archway and see snow-covered rooftops and cobblestone streets of Hogsmeade! The village is based on the wizarding village seen in the Harry Potter films. There are so much details in the windows and all of the different shops! There are a variety of attractions in Hogsmeade Village -Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: If you get motion sickness easily, I'd recommend avoiding this ride. You can walk through the Hogwarts castle though and not ride it! The queue will take you through iconic locations such as Dumbledore's office and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. The ride uses a Kuka robotic arm and moves you in a variety of directions and rotations. The ride can be a little intense during the screen sections. -Hippogriff ride: This is a mini rollercoaster right next to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. I wouldn't recommend waiting longer than 20 minutes for this ride. It's super fast ride. It has small drops too! It's great to ride during the evening and if you can catch the night show at the Harry Potter castle! -Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventures: Best rollercoaster ever! It lasts approximately 3 minutes too! When it came out a few years ago, my family and I did wait over 60+ minutes to ride it, but it's totally worth it! It's fast with small drops! The perfect rollercoaster! Ollivanders shop: Great wand experience. This is a must visit at least once! Dining: Three Broomsticks - Love the food here! The chicken and the corn on the cob is the best! There are other shops as well to purchase sweets like Honeydukes! This is one of the best areas at Universal's Islands of Adventure! Hogsmeade Village is located on the Island of Adventure side of the Resort in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section. The only all Wizarding/non muggle village in Britain according to the book. A short train ride on the Hogwarts Express can get you there from Diagon Alley. At the village, the most notable attractions are the rides. This is the best area of the resort. The highlight is The Forbidden Journey located inside the Hogwarts Castle. A simulated ride traveling through the sky With dips, curves and dangling feet encountering magical creatures and dementors. Such a cool ride, my favorite. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Is a fun roller coaster with dual pods (a bike and a cart) and Flight of the Hippogriff is a short family type coaster mimicking Buckbeak from the movie. Stop by Three Broomsticks for a bite to eat and grab a butter beer along the way from any of the shops such as Honeydukes. read more

OMG being in Hogsmeade was like a DREAM. I grew up with Harry Potter - midnight book releases, midnight screenings of the new movies with a coffee tumbler filled with pumpkin juice, etc. The snow-topped buildings are beautiful and charming and there was so much to see and shops to stop into. Why isn't this a four star review? Hogsmeade can be crowded. CROWDED. Like you can't move because there are people on all sides of you crowded. If you're excited to get a good picture of Hogsmeade or walk through it and pretend its your first visit to Hogsmeade as a Hogwarts student, I would do this earlier in the morning, before it gets really crowded. read more

I will always love Hogsmeade Village and the beautiful way they have constructed this portion of the park. I think between Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, I will always still love Hogsmeade more because it just feels so cozy and you simply cannot beat Hogwarts standing regal and proud at the very back of the village. I also love how realistic the snow covering the rooftops of Hogsmeade feels as well, you walk into Hogsmeade and just looking at the snow makes you feel at least 10 degrees cooler under the hot, Florida sun. Hogsmeade is home to so many wonderful shops like Ollivander's, Honeydukes, and so many more! The Three Broomsticks for dining and the ride within Hogwarts, which is my personal favorite, the Flight of the Hippogriff which is like a rollercoaster for kids (even though I was still a little nervous to go on it LOL), and Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which is the ultimate attraction/ride at Hogsmeade for many! There's so much to do here and I absolutely love spending my time here. From the front of Hogwarts, you can peel off into Jurassic Park if you're looking to leave Hogsmeade as well as going out the entrance to Hogsmeade itself, but if I'm coming to the Islands of Adventure, you best know that I'm spending 90% of my day at Hogsmeade! read more

What's not to love? The original Harry Potter village in all its magical fantastical glory, it's enough to give me goosebumps even thinking of it! This place is just beautiful- you enter into Hogsmeade Village, with many iconic shops to visit that were in the books/ films- Honeydukes candy shop, Dervish and Banges, and more! There is one restaurant, Three Broomsticks as well as some butter beer stands and the like. In the bathrooms, you can even hear poor Moaning Myrtle doing what she does best- haunting and complaining about her former life. The castle is the glowing beacon right at the top of the hill, where you can tour parts of Hogwarts Castle and ride with Harry and friends through a quidditch/ dragon adventures for its a ton of fun. I did love the old dueling dragon roller coasters that used to be in this area along with the castle ride, but no one can argue that the newer Hagrid ride is absolutely incredible and a ride like no other. That really boosted the clutchness of this part of HP. If you want to head over to Diagon Alley side, or come here from that way, just hop aboard the Hogwarts Express. The Hogsmeade side is usually a shorter wait, but definitely be sure to ride the train both ways. All in all, Harry Potter will forever have a place in my heart, and every time I come and see the castle up there and all the wizards and muggles mingling their way around, it gives me that childlike joy and awe from the very first time I ever came to the park. read more

Located in Island of Adventure, Hogsmeade Village was one of the highlights of my Orlando trip. If I could live here, I would. The architecture of the buildings, the aesthetic of the village and the music that transports you into the movies. Whether you require butterbeer, some fish & chips, a wand or some parchment paper, this area has you covered. If you have a pass to both Island of Adventure and Universal Studios, I highly recommend going on the train. I personally waited 70 minutes but it was so worth it. I did hear they show different videos on the 2 different trains so if you have time, take the train twice (once on the way to Island of Adventure, and once to Universal Studios). Truly, Harry Potter was the most time consuming of areas and I loved every second so I highly recommend. read more

The original side of the Wizarding World is such a classic! I remember wanting to come here so badly and listening to all of the advice from those who had visited before me. Coming here for the first time in 2012 was absolutely magical. The kids were so little, and just remembering the looks on their tiny faces when they saw the castle for the first time was priceless! I remember getting the frozen butterbeer for the first time in the Harry Potter mug, it was pure magic. This place has changed over the years since then, and I would argue is even better with my new favorite Hagrid ride! We still love the castle ride, it is so great. And the hippograph ride is adorable. It is best to get here early! That way you can ride the rides first then spend time exploring all of the ornate details put into this world. Even the toilette is magical with Myrtle sobbing and crying. The shops are wonderful. Yes, they are expensive, my in our experience, the clothing and sweatshirts have really lasted over the years. The kids continue to wear the items they bought a long time ago when they visit. We all have all of the products purchased from every visit. The food is outstanding! I love the turkey leg and potato wedges. I also love the candy shop sooo much! I am there every time getting tons of candy! The prepackaged candy saves well and is perfect to take home for later. We usually eat it slowly. We did visit here during Spring break during covid. Although things are slightly different, the magic still exists! The lines appear really long, but honestly they have always been long to get into rides or restaurants. They are taking precautions and monitoring the number of people in and out of the rides, stores, etc...and providing hand sanitizer at each ride, which I like and hope they continue post covid since it helps prevent sickness that is caught upon contact, like colds. This is a favorite magical place for us. If you love the fantasy and the magic, you are in the midst of it when you are here. read more

I kind of like this portion more than diagon Alley in some ways. This is where we went to olevanders and got our wands. The staff were really helpful in helping us do the magic at the spots around the park. And one showed us some secret spots which was pretty cool too. My only thing that I would say was trying to do the spells with a little frustrating sometimes like I would do them exactly like my wife did them and couldn't get them to work. Especially when little kids are the ones that are doing these it should be a little easier I think. Also don't miss lunch at the three broomsticks. My wife got the fish and chips and I got the ribs and chicken and both were to die for. read more

You can go into the shops to buy wizard robes, different Hogwarts souvenirs t-shirts, jackets, etc. -Gryffindor -Hufflepuff -Ravenclaw -Slytherin The interactive wands are pretty cool! Best part? Watching the splendid nigh lights show on Hogwartz Castle! This area isn't as big as I was assuming it would be. It was nice to walk thru the town recognizing the shops here that are in the HP books and movies. I wasn't interested in buying a nothing here, so that saved a looooooot of time not standing in lines. I did try the butter beer while in the village. I was expecting more. The liquid part was your basic ginger ale. The whipped cream cap is what's distinctive with its rich butterscotch flavor. read more

Hogsmeade Village is a beautiful area with a fun shopping village at the base of Hogwarts castle in Islands of Adventure. The architecture and lay out of the buildings definitely makes you feel as though you are in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. It is showcased during the winter months so all of the buildings are snow capped. This adds to the beauty. While in this section of the park you can shop for clothing at the Gladrags Wizardwear or purchase magical gear at Dervish and Banges. Honeydukes Sweetshop offers lots of fun sweet treats. They have what seems like endless flavors of jellybeans and chocolate frogs. There are many other shops and fun things to see and do in this area. For us it was more of a resting area where we slowed down and recharged for the second half of our day. read more

Personally, I love Hogsmeade way better than Diagon Alley. Don't get me wrong, I love them both but just love the snow capped buildings here. This is located in Islands of Adventure. I love that when the sun sets, they have the death eaters come out. Notable shops and restaurants here are: -Hog's Head and Three Broomsticks- alcohol and food -Dervish and Banges- quidditch supplies, etc. -Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods- merchandise and collectibles -Ollivanders- wands -Honeydukes- sweets I'm always going to Hog's Head for drinks when I first enter Hogsmeade. I also love Honeydukes, had the chocolate wand and pumpkin pasty there. There's also a replica of Hogwarts Express train there. Don't forget to stop by Hogwarts Castle; best ride is in there, HP and the Forbidden Journey! read more

Lets just be honest, any trip I make to Florida is about going to Universal Studios..and when in Universal Studios I completely live inside of Harry Potter world with no desire to ever leave (when are they just going to offer me the position of McGonagall and let me live in the castle, it is my destiny!) Hogsmeade Village in the first part of Harry Potter world that was built and sports the killer view of Hogwarts Castle, some entertaining dances by Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students, and of course the much adored Honeydukes. I love the snowy capped buildings and barrel carts selling butterbeer in the streets. There are a few shops you can visit including a "satellite Olivanders" just in case you need wands from both parks, a cute owlery shop with parcels and other items to purchase, and of course Honeydukes which is similar to the sweet shop in Diagon. There is also the 3 broomsticks and Hogshead which serve mostly the same things as the Leaky Cauldron on the Diagon side. There are more rides on this side than in Diagon Alley including Flight of the Hippogriff, Hagrid's Wild Ride, and the Hogwarts Castle ride which is Quidditch themed. The Hogwarts castle and Hagrid's rides are worth walking through even if you don't want to actually do the ride, its fun to see all the set up! I'm partial to Diagon Alley because I feel like they did a better job on the details and truly creating a feeling of being "transported" into the wizarding world from muggle London; whereas I don't get that from Hogsmeade. It is cute but I feel like the layout is a bit off and it gets incredibly cramped with only one main walkway for the crowd. It would also have been nicer to be able to go into more of the shops instead of them just being fake fronts, but all of these are just minor details. Harry Potter world as a whole is fantastic and Hogsmeade Village is a great part of it. read more

When you first enter through the arch you're transported to a snow capped Harry Potter dream. To the right is the Hogwarts Express with the conductor in front ready for photos. Straight ahead is a giant red barrel cart selling Butterbeer and other drinks. Behind that is the Three Broomsticks and Hog's Head connected through the inside Three Broomsticks offers food whole Hog's Head has Butterbeer and alcohol (along with souvenir mugs!). Along the way make sure to check out Ollivanders, Honeydukes, and the stage where they have performances like the Frog Choir and Triwizard Spirit Rally. At the back is the Hogwarts castle and the rides Forbidden Journey and the Flight of the Hippogriff. Make sure to stick around for the nighttime light show projected on the castle. Sunday night when I went there were 3 showings. The staff gave us a helpful tip that after the show it's easiest to exit across the bridge towards Jurassic Park. Going back through Hogsmeade creates a crowded funnel effect down the side if there's another group waiting for the next show. read more

( this is a separate review of Hogsmeade village only located at the island of adventure park) Hogsmeade village is located in Island of adventure, universal Orlando studios at the far end of the park. At the entrance to the Hogsmeade village is Hogsmeade station. As you enter the village you get to see Hogwarts express and pose with it. Have a chat with the friendly driver and click few snaps with Hogwarts express in the background. As you go inside, you get to see the snow-capped village. The snowy look gives the whole village a picturesque touch. There are carts selling butterbeer, pumpkin juice, and other goodies. Don't forget to get butterbeer in the souvenir mugs and get clicked with your frothy mustache ;) Its lined with colorful shops. The notable among them are Olivanders and Honeydukes. Get yourself a bag of treats from honeydukes full of chocolate frogs, or Bertie Bott every flavored bean, peppermint toads or the jelly slugs and then move towards olivanders to witness the wand choosing ceremony and get yourself a magic wand. It's very interesting to see it and the little magic threw along with it. Note strange looking muggle devices(read phones and camera) are discourage also it's not the wizard/witch who chooses the wand, the wand always chooses the wizard/witch. You will always find a queue for entering olivanders but its worth the wait. Have your lunch at the three broomsticks and get a drink at hogs head pub. It's amusing to look at the owls at Owl post and at the caged monster book of monster which snarls and moves. Also, don't forget to visit the restrooms there where you will hear moaning myrtle singing :) Just as Hogsmeade ends, you get to see towering castle which houses Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. There is a bridge beside the castle which takes you to the entrance of Jurassic Park. This offers the best view of the castle and is a perfect place to capture your clicks with the dreamy castle as the backdrop. Hogwarts houses the ride - Harry Potter and the forbidden journey. This ride mandates that things must be stowed away in the lockers provided at the entrance. On your way to the ride inside the castle, you get to see the talking and moving portraits, go by dumbledores office to the defense against dark arts classroom. Dumbledore's office is marvelous with each and every detail in place. The ride is a simulated one with sudden movements and jerks where Harry, Ron, and Hermione guides you around from the castle to forbidden forest to a Quidditch match. You get to witness dementors, the giant aragog in the forbidden forest and swoop past the castle into the Quidditch field to catch the golden snitch cheered by Hogwarts students and staff from the stand. The nighttime lights at Hogwarts which starts at dusk till park closing time is the icing on the cake. Its a must must watch. The music and the lights are treated to the ears and eyes. It feels absolutely magical to watch it. read more

I've been trying my best to torture Yelper Eric S by streeeetching out my reviews of Universal's Islands of Adventure, leisurely tapping out observations and opinions of everything in this park that I rode/experienced that I can find a listing for, saving my general overview of the park itself til the end. Hogsmeade Village, it seems, is the end of the line. We didn't take the train across to the other park, and the other Harry Potter land. Good thing for Eric S or it would be another 2 months of reviews. I'm not a Harry Potter person, though I did watch all 8 movies on a two week long weed bender in preparation for drawing a show flyer for some friends who put together a Harry Potter homage/parody variety show. I liked the movies - the Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite - but I didn't get super into it. Didn't hit me in the sweet spot when I was young and susceptible. Still, Hogsmeade village is pretty dope. Just seeing the looks of wonder on the faces of all the Potterites with their robes and magic wands - which I found out later actually do stuff in that village - was kind of a vicarious thrill. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is an incredible ride and that castle is beautiful. The longest we waited for anything at IOA but well worth it. The locker situation is a bummer, I ranted about it in my review for that ride, wondering why the lockers couldn't have been across the midway from the ride or something. Well, I watched this YouTube video about how Harry Potter ended up at Universal and come to find out the answer to that probably has something to do with JK Rowling herself. You see, after Disney sh*t the bed in their attempts to lure JK Rowling, time and time again underestimating and lowballing her, Universal put on a charm offensive. Apparently, she was blown away by their vision - I only saw the IOA side but they went all out. She also thought everything was all wrong, and it took many, many hours getting what you see here to looking as close to her vision as possible. So no lockers visible on the streets of Hogsmeade. (That room is still way to small and hard to get in and out of though! Uggghhh!!) And she made them scale down the shops and the midways, which aren't SUPPOSED to be midways at all but streets and lanes. I was like "Wow! They WERE really narrow in a lot of places! " Hogsmeade was easily the most crowded area of IOA; I'm sure I'd get claustrophobia if I went on a weekend. But part of that was the park planners weren't free to think in terms of crowd control and creature comfort like in the other, more elbow room-friendly "Islands". Some nerdy trivia for you there. Sacrifices were made for the completeness of the illusion! read more

Universal really went all out with creating the world of Harry Potter here. There is the train station in the universal park where you board the hogwarts express and take a train with Harry Potter surprised aboard the train to the Islands of Adventure park where you arrive at Hogsmeade. It's truly a magical experience. Here you find most of the Harry Potter rides like the flight of the hippogriff and Hagrids magical creatures (probably one of the best rides ever) and the forbidden journey. The set is amazing and the stores are actually shops where you can find wands and robes or the candy shop selling Bertie Botts every flavor bean or chocolate frogs. COVID update: I found that it was crowded even though they capped entry once they reached maximum capacity , it was a little too crowded for my comfort and even though they don't allow drinking/eating without masks WHILE walking but only when stationary, it's not always possible for people to be reminded not to walk around without masks. Customer service is almost not really a thing at these stores and I'm not sure why especially when WDW is the competitor. Overall a truly mesmerizing experience and definitely definitely get the butter beer doesn't matter really frozen or regular they are both really good! You can redeem your dining plan snack for this and it's worth it. It tastes like a creamy butterscotch cream soda as a float or the stuff you sometimes find on foamy cold brew coffees.
