Today ii went in with my family. We are a happy bunch and were ordering chocolates and laughing. The woman with medium black hair was in hurry it seemed, although shop had no other customers. We were asked if we were drunk. Wedding not drink. They asked where we were from, we are from Palm Beach. A Second Lady with longer dark hair appeared and started quizzing my son in law. The aesthetic in Hoffman's Chocolate is very cute. The inside is very nice. The workers are very kind. One thing that was weird is that the inside smelled a little weird. Oh my goodness what a terrible experience. Went on an afternoon with my friends and our toddlers to get some ice cream after lunch. We got our ice creams and the lady at the register couldn't operate the cash register and said it was not working. At first she asked for our cards but then said the card machine is not working and to give cash. Then suddenly as we are digging to get cash she's like the register is not opening the drawer for cash either. She then says I can write down all your credit card numbers and then charge it when it's up again. Um no thanks I don't just give out card numbers blindly like that. Eventually my friends and I scrambled to try to get even change for our ice creams because their register can't operate. All this was going on while our toddlers were screaming to go outside. What a stressful unnecessary experience for just trying to get simple ice cream. I've never heard of an establishment operating like that. Especially after already serving the ice cream to us and not giving us any options to pay unless it involved potential identity theft or have them keep excess change since they can't open the drawer. Luckily my friends and I all worked it out and managed to come together with pretty much exact change but it was unnecessary stress. There was a gentleman behind us and same thing he went up she said you can leave your credit card number and he's like no way and left without getting anything. Recently, my family and I went to Hoffman's and enjoyed their Christmas lights. If you haven't been you should check it out. They have an outdoor ice skating rink, an entire garden of lights and it celebrates ever denomination. It was beautiful and they have an amazing Santa and Mrs. Claus for your children to enjoy. It was a fun and free family night. The chocolate factory was open and you were able buy Christmas themed chocolates. A small Christmas tree chocolate will cost you about $13. They also make large Santa Claus chocolates as a gift. It's a great experience. I can't wait to go back and take a tour of the chocolate factory itself. read more

When it comes to chocolate covered pretzels you haven't had the best until you had Hoffmanns!!! Hands down the best chocolate covered pretzels ever! The amount of chocolate vs pretzel is an amazing blend of perfection. We prefer to buy them in the box individually wrapped but they were out. Ofcourse they were sold out so we got a pound of the ones on display which I think cost a little more but when you are addicted you buy it. It's been awhile since we had some so we were eatting them before we got in the car! We keep them in the fridge & they don't last long in the house. I crave for the dark chocolate dipped orange peels from time to time and it's hard to find a good shop that makes them and has a great parking area when you just want to go in and grab some sweets! My husband and I also had their strawberry ice cream. I thought it was just absolutely delicious. I forgot to ask them if it was homemade because it sure did taste like it! The shop itself had a nice selection of chocolates and other sweets for almost every occasion. We even saw chocolate cigars and a cute bar that has our favorite phrase on it, "You're the Best". Visited Hoffman's today. They have one of the best chocolates around. All sorts of dipped fruit, nuts and candies. To tell if you are getting quality chocolates, two ingredients must be there. Cocoa butter is one of them. More important is chocolate liquor. The two together make for a high quality chocolate product which we have here. Chocolate is made on the premises in large copper pots. I had the opportunity to sample a few of the chocolates namely the caramels covered in both milk and dark chocolate and chocolate dipped marshmallows. They were decadent and delicious. I definitely recommend this place and I will be back. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they will let you sample before you buy. I'm staying in the Marriott hotel in this Town Center mall. The first night I drove through McDonalds and got an ice cream with hot fudge. You knew what you were getting for $2. The second night I see Hoffmanns. Butter pecan hot fudge sundae for $6. Compared to McDonald's, it was worth 10x as much. Pure heaven. Might skip tonight but definitely will be back before I leave Boca. I'm already dreaming about the hot fudge. The ice cream was delicious as well. read more

I went to buy my family some treats for Valentine's Day. The staff seemed uncomfortable when I walked in. I checked my clothes and hair when I left to see if I looked bad. Nothing was out of place but it was weird seeing people uncomfortable when I walked in. Further, the champagne truffles didn't taste like champagne at all. Each time I walked into Hoffman's Chocolate Shoppe, the cold, cold air hit you with a shiver, but that only last for a second, then the powerful aroma of chocolate hit you, and you in another zone. If you want chocolate strawberries, they will order them for you (price is reasonable). If you want to sample of the chocolate or ice-cream in their display, no problem. I've been here a few times but I realized I never reviewed it. The ice cream is delicious, super creamy and tastes home made. I'm not sure if it is actually home made, but it does taste like it. They don't have a big selection of ice cream at all, maybe only 10 flavors. I had an interesting experience today, the lady who was scooping seemed really distracted because she got both my orders wrong. It was so bizarre, I asked her for one kind of ice cream and she started to scoop another kind. When I saw that she had the wrong ice cream order, I had to correct her. Then one minute later the same thing happened with my daughter's cone too. I guess she was having an off day! It's like she was in outer space, lol.
