After contacting three other companies that would not quote pricing without a dispatch or diagnostic fee, I appreciated Lincoln's transparency. He actively communicated with me via text, trying to fit me into the schedule--multiple times. Was really going out of his way. Just fantastic follow-up and follow-through. Jorge's level of service--EXCEPTIONAL. Kind and considerate, and went the extra mile multiple times. We were having an issue with our dryer telling us our vent was blocked. Jorge checked the vent from outside the house, explaining what he was seeing as he cleared out whatever he could find. Since that didn't fix the dryer issue, the dryer company sent out a (pretty lazy) service person, who took a brief look and said it was still the vent. Jorge offered to come back and take another look, even going down in the crawl space to disassemble and reassemble the dryer vent to see what else he could find. Nothing. It's actually the dryer that has a wonky sensor--thanks to Jorge's genial hard work, we now know this definitively. Thanks guys. Highly recommend this pleasant and professional service team, and will work with them again.

I mentioned to Chris that something went awry after we tried to secure the cover of the Nest thermostat (it was loose from the wall). The AC had worked before but after doing something with the cover, the AC stopped working. Chris quickly found the problem (a fuse had blown out). Chris was very professional, gave me some ideas on a Honeywell thermostat (we're not BIG fans of the new NEST thermostat), showed me how to read the error codes on our furnace (watch the number of red light flashes and compare it to the brochure left with the furnace). It was easy, peasy, even someone like me who has no HVAC experience could do this. I can't thank Chris enough for his great personality, true professionalism, answered my questions, taught me a few things (learning something new is always good) and even loved on my 2 labs (turns out we both love animals). Thank you, Chris! You're the absolute best! Sierra Air is *very* lucky to have you on their staff.

They did not suggest any additional work or leave an estimate for any additional repairs. Three weeks later, the same issue started happening again. I called them, and they came out and charged another $477 to clear the drain and get it working again. They then gave us an estimate of close to $3,700 to fix the problem (and the estimate does not include redoing any concrete). I contacted another well-known plumber who is highly rated in the Reno area and sent them information about what had been done so far, along with the estimate. They let me know that they would have only charged $370 to snake the main drain and would not have charged anything for the follow-up visit. They also said that if the suggested work needed to be done, their estimate would be closer to $3,200. When the plumbing issues first came up, I panicked and picked a name I had heard in commercials. I should have done more research. My dad is retired, lives alone, and is on a fixed income. He has already had to pay too much extra money toward this issue and definitely cannot afford the expensive repair they suggested during the second visit. Since writing my original review above, I have had another company come out in person for a second opinion. They came up with a much more reasonable plan that actually includes replacing the concrete and completing the repair for $1,000 less. Just know that if you are looking for a plumber in Reno, you have other options that are also highly rated and will definitely charge you less.
