My son was building his very first skateboard, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They took the time to explain every part -- from the deck to the trucks and wheels -- and made sure he understood how everything worked. The team was incredibly patient, friendly, and genuinely excited to help him create something that felt like his own. The vibe in the shop is so welcoming -- cool, creative, and full of that true SoCal skate spirit. You can tell they really care about the community and the next generation of skaters. I got two scoops, Rocky Road and pecan, both were delicious. They got really cool wooden Picnic tables too. On hot days especially, this place will be extremely popular. The owner is extremely cool. He mentioned that he's bringing back the Doheny Paddle Fest this summer too. He has a passion for thrifty ice cream, paddle boards, the community, Dana point, he's been in business for decades, I remember coming here as a teen. Additionally, The employees were all chill. At the moment, this is the only place that I know of that serves thrifty ice cream here in Orange County. So I was willing to pay a lot. - but didn't have to because all the prices were great. Not worthy, they did everything correctly, such as using the special thrifty brand scooper, wearing gloves, they had all the right cones. Multiple flavors too. It was all perfectly done. We Plan on coming back here Real soon with more family members and friends! I went to Dana Point harbor Tuesday since I heard T. Patterson was there every Tuesday letting folks demo SUPs. I'm planning to buy a SUP and really looked forward to trying a few of the racing or ocean touring types. I could not find anybody when I arrived, but some locals mentioned that a "Vicki" was paddling back from Olamendis and that she was from Patterson. Eventually she arrived, I mentioned why I was standing there, and she informed me that their permit expired and that there were no demo today. Bummer for me. But then she offered to let me try her Patterson custom SUP, her personal board. She sent me out on the water on her board for a short paddle, and waited. To me, that is huge; she knew I was waiting, and did what she could to be nice, talk about the T. Patterson racing board, and offer to let me, a stranger, borrow her personal board for a quick test drive. Very very nice, and worthy of a yelp! I have not paddled very many SUPs yet, but the 12'6' Patterson was certainly the nicest and fastest board I've ever been on! Thanks Vicki for going above and beyond!

I have rented boards many times before I owned one (and now rent for my guests or when I have kids with me) and the service knocks the socks off of the others in the area. They are also open reliable hours which I really appreciate, as a few places I have gone to will rent some days but not others on no particular schedule. Todd helped me fix my fin issue on my SUP that I purchased from another store, and now by board rides really well. I had a fin about twice as long and also had it too far back on the board. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and often there are SUP racers in there when I go in on weekends. They sell all kinds of boards, including custom and consignment and multi-person boards. They also have quality sunglasses and SUP/surf gear including safety gear and straps. They have some bikinis and rash guards also. I just wanted to provide some more information because I felt like there weren't enough reviews on here for such a good place... I should get some more photos sometimes and post also. That's where I found my dream jacket at this super cool little shop called Montana Supply! They had a great selection of Seager stuff, but unfortunately didn't have the jacket I wanted in my size. Sooo, naturally, I had to call HQ in SJC, where Brayden was AWESOME. He confirmed they had my size (small!) and helped me place the order over the phone to secure it because I'm crazy like that. We were trying to get everything sorted while I was driving through Big Sky, and I kept losing service. Brayden literally went above and beyond to figure out a way to save my receipt and make sure everything was ready to go when I called back once I had service again. He was so patient and helpful through the whole thing! I'm so stoked to pick up my jacket when I get back home. Such a cool brand and, obviously, the coolest staff! My family has been going to this shop for about 20 years…read more One of the ladies there really knew her stuff and explained to me that I didn't need a 9" center fin with my 2+1 setup. She recommended a 6.5" fin, I learned that Bill Stewart invented with the 2+1 fin setup. I've owned 4 Stewart Surfboards over the years. I've always liked the beveled edge on the Stewart boards. They work as good as they look. they turn better than any board i've ever had. The Stewart/Leines family and everyone at the shop are very friendly, down to earth and pretty laid back. It's just a fun place to go, look at surfboards. They have tons of videos on youtube also. I learned a lot of stuff watching the videos. They have a huge selection of boards to look at, and they are made in the USA.

Erik Leines was reccomended by surfboard shaper Cordell Miller to repair a Hypto Krypto I bought…read morethat was damaged. I reached out to Erik and he said to bring the board by the shop. He found that it needed a fin box repair and a stripped screw replacement. He fixed the issues, and also did a re-repair of a small hole the board had, which had a sloppy repair, without me even asking. He made the repair totally smooth and good as new. So if you ever buy a beater board or just need a repair, bring it by this shop. And then yesterday I picked up a new board that Cordell made me, and he reccomended heading down to Stewart to buy some fins for it, so I did. Everyone was super nice in the shop. Very cool spot, too.

I demo'd a firewire board last weekend at salt creek, and the van left with my drivers license before I could return the board. I had no way to contact them or anything, but I remembered that the Ripcurl store sometimes has that van there but I don't think they they had anything to do with the current demo event I was partaking in... Anyway so I called around asking what to do, and finally reached Matt, who went above and beyond by taking my number down, getting in contact with the guy driving the Firewire Demo van, and having him drop off my Drivers License at the Ripcurl store, and said I could come in anytime to return the board and take my DL. He literally saved me a massive headache and 3 hours of driving down to the Firewire store in San Diego (far from my home) to get my DL back from them had Matt not been the middle man and handled the issue swiftly. He has always been super nice and helpful when I'm in the store (just like all the employees) but he really went above and beyond this time and I'm extremely grateful!
