I got two scoops, Rocky Road and pecan, both were delicious. They got really cool wooden Picnic tables too. On hot days especially, this place will be extremely popular. The owner is extremely cool. He mentioned that he's bringing back the Doheny Paddle Fest this summer too. He has a passion for thrifty ice cream, paddle boards, the community, Dana point, he's been in business for decades, I remember coming here as a teen. Additionally, The employees were all chill. At the moment, this is the only place that I know of that serves thrifty ice cream here in Orange County. So I was willing to pay a lot. - but didn't have to because all the prices were great. Not worthy, they did everything correctly, such as using the special thrifty brand scooper, wearing gloves, they had all the right cones. Multiple flavors too. It was all perfectly done. We Plan on coming back here Real soon with more family members and friends! (additionally I met some really nice people that were enjoying the thrifty ice cream because it's so retro, and the place is so inviting that it's a great place to make new friends.)

I think someone in purchasing or merchandising, or logistics or store management needs a good talking to! All was not lost, the girl manning the register was so friendly and helpful. She apologized and tried to interest me in something else. Then she suggested I check the warehouse in San Juan Capistrano. I did. I found exactly what I wanted at 40% off. I was so happy I added a lid and t-shirt! The store was very nicely laid out. It was clean and cozy on a mid winter night. We walked across the parking lot for a quick dinner at Hennessy's Pub. They had live music and yummy sliders.

It has been a while since I have walked into a store front and be met with genuine care for the customers needs, no pressure to buy something or up sold, and just be friendly by conversing with one another. It is a place that I can see why so many enjoy going to because SoCal Surf Shop gives you a vibe of all is welcome regardless of your activity preference or skill level. The shop has everything you need for surfing and snowboarding ( uh um, carry more ski stuff for us old schoolers ), the prices I looked at you will definitely get a good deal, and then you have a shop who really cares about its community and the people they serve. They sell Patagonia, Vuori, some others and their house brand. There's a kids section, more like a corner. My girls picked a shirt each, the hobie store brand was printed on some soft blanks.
