She emerges happy, and that's all that matters. But here's the thing--The Cove isn't just another beach-town boutique. It's an anomaly. A lone wolf. A place that, by all rights, should be in a hip LA district or some high priced shopping mecca, not wedged between surf shops and dime-a-dozen fast fashion joints. Yet, here it stands, holding its own. I don't pretend to understand women's casual fashion, but even I can recognize quality when I see it. High-end labels. Carefully curated pieces. Stuff that doesn't scream "I bought this off a clearance rack at a strip mall." This is where the sharp-dressed, boho-chic crowd comes to play. A word to the wise: if you see something you like, buy it. Boutique shopping is a cruel mistress--wait too long, and that perfect piece will be gone, never to return. (Discovered on more than one occasion) So if you (or your better half) have a taste for fashion that's actually worth the price tag, The Cove is the move. Me? I'm a bargain hunter, so the apparel was a bit pricey for me, however, there were many pieces I LOVED. The owner, Scott, was very helpful. I have a pair of prescription sunglasses that slide off of my face, and he offered to adjust them for free. They fit perfectly now! I browsed a bit, took stock in things I'd like, but mentally checked myself that I wasn't there for me However, the sales woman on shift was not friendly. No, welcome or can I help. As a former Nordstrom buyer, great customer service is just ingrained in you. Seems the sales lady took one look at my attire (shop/store uniform) and apparently wrote me off, it was clear as day. When I stopped to ask her if she could suggest something for my younger daughter, where I might find something stylish for a 15/16yo. She suggested 'maybe Old Navy or Target'. Hmmmm....ya know that scene in Pretty Woman - BIG MISTAKE, HUGE!!! Never judge a book by its cover. Coming straight from my store I realize I may not have looked the part to her, but to have an employee make ANY customer/potential client 'feel' they might be in the wrong place, it's not how I would want any of my employees to act. My bank account and I got back into my RR and drove to River Walk. Free People store there was more than happy to help me purchase a few tops, pants and accessories.
