I want to complain about the cashier at Sarasota store, the address of the store is 8195 s Tamiami trail Sarasota fl 34231 . I went to the store today 04/03/26 at 5:56 pm and the cashier VICTORIA B was extremely rude, when I ask if she was having a good day she said she wasn't because she wanted to go home and she could handle being at the store anymore, she was awful, treating customers awful, very, very rude, she treated me so bad and I went to talk with the manager but he did nothing about it. I spent 276.06 dollars to be treated like trash because the cashier wanted to go home and wasn't feeling like working, she deserves to have consequences, she can't be there treating customers bad just because she doesn't feel like working, she was ridiculous, I will not come to hobby lobby anymore because employees are awful, the manager couldn't care less when I talked with him... here is a message to VICTORIA B, listen if you don't like working there just leave it.... read more

HOBBY LOBBY NOT FOR MY BUBBE! I visited Hobby Lobby at 8195 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida, 34231. I have shopped there a few times before, mainly for Holiday merchandise, They always had a small corner end-cap with Chanukah things I was interested in and nd U.S. Army related things. As an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, I always browse the military section of the store. I hadn't gone into the store in about 9 months. On December 15, 2024, I went into Hobby Lobby to get some Chanukah decorations and look at what they had on display. The Chanukah end-cap was gone and there was no Chanukah merchandise to be found. I asked an older sales person where the Chanukah merchandise was! She said that "We don't have that"! I asked to speak to the Manager, and she went a short way and spoke to another person. After 10 minutes, the manager hadn't come out from the back. She then said to me, "we are very busy" trying to excuse his apparent decision to ignore the Jew asking about Chanukah. After another 5 minutes of the Manager's no-show, I left the store fully aware of my being a waste of the Manager's anti-semitic time. In reflecting on my Hobby Lobby blatant prejudicial experience and my past shopping at the store, I realized that I had never seen an African American sales person in the store or any African Americans shopping there. I also recall some religious problems associated with the Hobby Lobby Corporate Management. So, although there are many, multiple aisles of Christmas merchandise, there are ZERO Chanukah or Kwanzaa merchandise anywhere in the store. So as an all inclusive Human and Army Veteran, I ask my Fellow Brothers in Arms to boycott Hobby Lobby in support of the service and sacrifices we made for Freedom For All! Bob Nemser read more

Today at the sarasota HL, i was asking about a sales price with a women named heather who claims to be a manager. i was asking for clarification on what item was the sale item. She was rude during the exchange but i brushed it off. as i was leaving the store, she was standing in front of the door so i glanced at her name tag in case I decided to call a complaint. well... as i continued to leave ( without saying a word to her, she looks at me and.. CALLS ME A BITCH. i turned around and said.. you picked the wrong one this time, get your boss. needless to say i got all names and numbers for corporate etc and as i was leaving, heather was standing on the curb waiting for a ride. i hope for HL sake she has been terminated. i will visit the store daily to make sure. so.. if u shop there, watch for heather. 2 stars simply because I ge store manager didn't even try to defend her ( not that he could, she ADMITTED IT) Update... spoke to corp, and it is being handled properly and quickly. A shout out to the frame department. Both employees...the head of the frame Dept. and Beth who helped me were so friendly and helpful. Beth not only picked out a great and very affordable frame for me that did not have to be customized, and then created a customized backing to it without even charging me for it. I expected to pay so much more and she graciously helped me to save a lot of money. I definitely would go back there for all my framing. read more

I heard such great things about this store & how wonderful the prices are. Truth is: -awesome selection of craft stuff & home decor, furniture, etc... -big spacious well laid out & organized store -seemingly helpful staff -colorful plastic bins that were inexpensive for my fellow teachers BUT Something annoys me about the fact that everything is always "on sale" - just call it what it is. It's the actual overpriced value of the item. The other price is always ridiculous. In general, the prices are no better than a Home Goods, Marshall's, etc... the only difference is here you have much more selection (especially in the craft department). For example a little pink and gold globe was $25, I just recently saw the same globe, same materials in Marshall's for $12.99. As a first timer, I was impressed by the selection but not the prices. The girl in the fabric area today could use some training in customer service and helping customers find what they need. She may have been new, but that doesn't excuse lack of attention and asking for help when she doesn't know the answer. After finding it myself (beaded lace) I was never told there was a another whole section of what I was looking for in the bridal area. These hobby stores are a must for me. Although this company's religious and political practices I have to come to purchase some necessary items for my crafts. Their employuees are helpful and need their jobsl. Moreover, this particular store was situated in a beautiful spot and had many other businesses in their realm. We do a ton of craft and have shopped in the Sarasota Hobby Lobby. We are in purchasing from most of the departments and in the last few months have spent hun of dollars in the store. They always have great deals, the problem is that when we are in the store shop we are ALWAYS followed around. A couple of times I have turned around and have almost run into an employee. This is so degrading to us and we feel that they must think we are thieves! It is so bad that we have not returned to the store and we don't plan on going back again! This store has everything you could possibly need if you love crafting! I needed a couple of random craft items, and I easily found each item stocked neatly and where they said it would be. Can't even imagine the challenge to keep this store so neat and organized. It must take an army of people or people who really care. I think it's the latter. As I was checking out the girl was kind and helpful and mentioned sale items as well. I have only been in 2 times, but the consistency and cleanliness of this store makes it my new favorite craft store. read more
