I have never in my life been treated so rudely! My elderly mom (who has trouble walking) and I visited the Siesta Key location this morning. The two women who worked there told my mom she couldn't put her basket of stuff down and to figure it out. Or they will just put it away. The cashier then proceeded to be rude to me and told me to stop being angry. ?? I only asked about a towel. The grey haired cashier was also was making the people behind us in line because she just wouldn't stop with me or my mom. The people behind us wanted to leave but they needed what they were purchasing. The woman and man behind us in line mouths dropped at the way this cashier was talking to us. The man spoke up once. What is happening?? We were calm and collected and she just kept at it! Younger me would have drop kicked this maniac. Unbelievable!!! read more

We are down in Siesta Key for a fun beach day, decided to visit this shop just to look around. The man working at the shop today was very unwelcoming. I was browsing near the counter and overheard a conversation between him and another customer. They were talking about how much he hates tourists and how the tourists have destroyed the town. He went on about it quite a bit. He was also telling her how he sells his honey out of the shop and how the "tourists buy it just because he put the name sarasota on it". Green Turtle Shell & Gift City is your typical beachy souvenir shop. They have tons of merchandise, including clothing, keychains, jewelry, glassware, beach accessories, and so much more! I visited this shop with a group of friends, and we were just looking around. Honestly, there was nothing in this shop that any of us needed, but this would be a good spot if you're looking for gifts for others. Zero stars for sure. My sister and I were shopping and one of her items did not have a price. The cashier shouted to another worker to check the price and kept shouting impatiently. He finally said "$16." I bought the same shirt as my sister and it was marked "$12" so I'm pretty sure they just made up a price. He seemed very money oriented. My sister paid in cash and as she was pulling out her money the cashier put his hand out and kept it out the entire time waiting to grab that money. Lastly, I checked out. The cashier made no eye contact with me. He swiped my card and then actually threw my card on the glass counter toward my sister. He then proceeded to slap the receipt on the counter with his back facing me and said "sign." If I could have canceled the transaction I would have because he was so unbelievably rude. Half the stuff in the store was gimmicky trash that's been sitting there for decades. I'd rather burn my money than give it to a rude greedy pig. Be warned! read more

My sister and I have been picking up the cutest souvenirs at this shop since we were little kids, nearly 40 years ago. To this day it is still a must-do every vacation as there's something for absolutely everyone. Some amazing shells, stones, and sea glass can be found here and for very reasonable prices compared to other shops. read more

This place has anything you would need for the beach. My daughter forgot her bathing suits at home, you would think in a tourist town everything would be super expensive but everything was reasonably priced, great selection of clothes, gifts and toys. Found this on Midnight Pass Road as we were leaving Turtle Beach. We passed it and then decided to turn around and go back. Large selection and the guy running the checkout counter was pretty friendly. We made some purchases (shirts) and were glad we stopped in. I'd definitely go back the next time I'm in the area. We visited during the last week of March 2019 during Spring Break. It was not crowded and had a more of a mom/pop feel than the Beach Zone etc stores. read more

I was In the green turtle on Sunday doing some shopping and was greeted by 2 women who were super nice Lisa was very professional and helpful, when a woman walked in assuming the manager and started talking very loud and was so rude. I could not believe that any employee should ever be talked to like that especially in front of costumers. Loved the shop but will not be going back as I felt really bad for these women. Never should be tolerated by anyone!!!!! Would have been a 5 star but not after that scene. read more

My husband and I visited this shop twice and both times we were treated rudely. The first time we arrived approximately 20 minutes before closing and we were informed that they were closing soon which we understood we just wanted to quickly look through which apparently was a big inconvenience. The second time we went back, my husband was followed around the entire time because I guess they thought he was shoplifting. We purchased sunglasses and flip-flops and the shopkeeper could barely say a nice word to us during the checkout process. She thanked us almost begrudgingly but no attempt at small talk. I regret purchasing items there and wish would have taken our business elsewhere. The customer service was disappointing and uncalled for, I understand if they have trouble shoplifting but they should treat customers with respect. I have been travelling to Siesta Key for 27 years from Scotland and have regularly visited the Green Turtle gift shop and agree the items in the shop are quaint and very tempting! I have to say I was astounded today when despite after having being assisted by a lovely, helpful female assistant, I went to pay for the items. The 'gentleman' in the loosest of terms, took my card, turned his back to put it in the machine and when the payment was complete literally looked over his shoulder and tossed the card back to me on the counter. Stupidly I didn't leave as something else had caught my eye. I went to the counter to pay and he did exactly the same thing again without as much as a 'thank you' or any other pleasantry. I certainly did not feel like a valued customer at all and to be honest have never been treated with such disdain! Was it because I was from another country or was I not spending enough...? I have no idea but what I do know is that I am so disappointed and saddened at his arrogance!! read more

What a fun shop! Alligator claws, postcards, spinners and mermaids, oh, my! They have all the t-shirts, coconut treats and beach koozies for the traveler in need. Much less expensive than the Beach Bazaar on Ocean Blvd. The quality of the stuffed puffer fish could have been better (picked up product in better condition at a less expensive price at the Red Barn). This is the place to go for quality items at very fair and reasonable prices. They do not carry junk like a lot of the other souvenir shops. They have a great selection of clothing, keepsakes, postcards, gifts, all kinds of seashore items, etc. I could spend days in there looking at all the cool things. The cashiers are excellent. They are extremely helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to direct you to your interests. My husband and I absolutely LOVED this shop. I overheard quite a number of other customers telling the cashiers how much they really enjoyed the shop and loved the selection. I hope to be able to come back often especially to bring our visitors here when they visit as well. GREAT SHOP and employees! read more
