Service definitely needs improvement. Certain workers pick and choose who they are courteous to. I went to get some fabric and noticed the customer before me was treated respectfully and the worker had a full conversation with them, yet when I went to get my fabric cut, they didn't even acknowledge me or speak to me. Instead they made a comment to their coworker about how much they had to cut for me. They didn't even acknowledge me when they were done either. Horrible attitude. read more

This is the place you come to if you would Like to be racially harassed. I have never felt uncomfortable shopping here till today. An employee by the name of Donna was yelling across the store at another employee about kicking girls out for being loud. My girls were being a little loud as they were excited about doing crafts in the summer but nothing crazy then some laughing. She then proceeded to say that we should be kicked out and sent back to our country. That those "kind of people" don't know what it's like to get in trouble and need to be taught by being sent back. Although we are of Mexican descent we are U.S citizens and should not feel attacked by a business by their employees while giving them out money. I should also not have to clarify to staff my citizenship status while shopping.I will not be supporting a hobby lobby any longer! I frequent this Hobby Lobby location quite a bit and unfortunately the customer service is becoming worse each visit. While I don't want to take away from wonderful employees like Donna, who was the saving grace tonight. The rudeness of Maria needs to be addressed. I came into the store looking for an item and after walking the store, I was unable to locate it. It was at that time I noticed Maria completing a task and asked if she could help point me in the right direction for the item. I held my phone up to show her and her response to me was "well, you see where it says scrapbook. That's where you need to go." In the phot below, you can actually see that there are several different descriptions and I only requested assistance because I was not able to locate it walking the store on my own. The item was later found in the area of the vinyl for the cricket machines, a few isles over from the scrapbook isle. I'm not sure if Maria is unhappy with her job, the tasks given to her, or just life in general but she is a representative of Hobby Lobby and isn't doing very well. The employees need some customer service training. When you ask them questions or need help it's like we are bothering them. If they don't like their job nor take pride in helping customers get rid of them. Also, please train them to not only follow people of color in the store. BEWARE of the gorilla glue and a rude manager. Went to switch out a dried gorilla glue that was not dried out and low and behold all three I picked up were dried up. I took the 3 up to the refund register and told the Nice gentlemen that the glue I bought was dried up and was going to switch it out with another one and all 3 are dried up as well. He said oh we got to look into that and was going to leave the glue behind the registry meanwhile the Manager came up and asked what's the problem we told her and she took all 3 DRIED UP glues and put them back on the shelf and I said they are dried up and she said no there not other people don't have a problem with them who does that I know a UNPROFESSIONAL RUDE MANAGER that's who. Came here to get cardstock Wednesday as it was listed as 50% off and I had a project that required some. I ended up needing more than what I had purchased, so I returned Friday while the sale was still going on. The aisle where all the scrapbooking supplies are, including the entire wall of loose sheets of paper and cardstock, had flyers saying 50% off. This time when checking out, the cashier says they are full price. I asked what had changed since Wednesday, and they said they were never on sale, despite the dozen signs up and down the aisle, because apparently they didn't have a certain sticker on them (which many of the sheets down this aisle also lacked). Apparently the original cashier wasn't aware of this little bait-and-switch. Every other item on this aisle is "The Paper Studio" brand (including most of the scrapbook paper and cardstock) that was on sale, but this one section is not, despite having signage that obviously implies it is. Also, there is a pad of identical paper for sale that IS "The Paper Studio" brand, but supposedly the loose sheets are not. I get the feeling someone is just too lazy to add the stickers to individual sheets/don't want to damage them, and this is just an excuse to nickel-and-dime the customers. UPDATE: I emailed customer service and they informed me that both managers were completely wrong and that the items I was attempting to buy were indeed included in the sale. read more

I'm not very fond of this store. Employees are probably able to give good advice on many topics, except art and craft supplies. I rarely advise an art student to shop here, and saying that makes me feel like an art snob. Employees here should be able to put the right parts together for a project. Which paper is best for charcoal, what ink is suggested for dip nib pens, what brushes do I need for tole painting? Management at hobby Lobby stores should devote some time to knowledge of their products, and less time to politics and religion of their employees. I also know that many people shopping here are craft vendors, artisans and teachers. There is no place I shop where using a tax exemption is more difficult than it is at hobby lobby. read more

I've given this store so many chances. Every time I go there the cashiers are super slow and my kids cry because of all the candy and toys they have near them checkout line. Today was no exception. Are they slow on purpose so kids can see all the candy lined up by the registers. I know this is a thing to put in check out lines at all stores but there's something about hobby lobby. Anyway my kids and the kids behind me crying. And also how hypocritical to wipe down the carts and scream at customers to wear masks for safety and health and then have all that candy there. I've seriously been going into the store for about 2 months for basic ribbon they have a sale on every other week. They are poorly stocked everytime. They never order more ribbon. I went in 3 weeks ago, and the whole ribbon section was destroyed. They rearranged it this week, but seriously everything was empty once again. It is awfully set up now. Irate over the Hobby Lobby ruling from SCOTUS last year, I marched into my nearest Hobby Lobby intent on arranging wooden letters in such a manner as to announce my disgust with those clientele. Ah, that's a giant load of horse manure! I actually agreed with the decision but that's neither here nor there - now on with the show/review! The first time I went in Hobby Lobby I was expecting to see model trains, RC airplanes, those cool rockets that young boys build with the different sized rocket engines - so imagine my surprise when I entered this place and saw home décor, bric-a-brac, and all manner of knitting supplies! I half expected Rod Serling to step out smoking a cigarette! All kidding aside, I WAS disappointed that this was not what I had anticipated so I did a 180 and exited never to return....... until a year later when my wife wanted to pick something up from there. It's a huge store, bright and bubbly. Listen carefully and you'll likely hear Black Sabbath pouring out from the huge PL-89 speakers in every corner of the store - or maybe they're songs of salvation soothe the soul. Either way, you're going to find just about any old timey hobby stuff from knitting supplies, yarn, loops, thread, picture frames, bolts of fabric, and everything in between. I love shopping at Hobby Lobby however this location specifically is run horribly. The lines to check out are always backed up. My last visit I waited almost 20min to check out. The restrooms are disgusting. I took my 3 year old to go potty and she was gagging from the smell and uncleanliness of the restrooms. Out of the 4 stalls only 1 was usable the others were either clogged with wads of toilet paper or still had feces. To top it all off I went in the other day looking for the ever popular letter boards and was told by an employee that they didn't carry them. I walked around the corner from where I asked this person and I saw an end cap full of these letter boards. The employees are clueless of what this location carries and unwilling to help. One situation where I tried getting by and two employees sighed in disturbance as if it was a bother to ask them to make a pathway for me to pass by. Long lines!! No matter what day of the week of time of day, there are never enough cashiers. The managers are always too busy walking the front area like they are guarding the entrance instead of helping out. If the cashiers fail to deactivate your sensor they will make you make you empty out your bags and pockets. Items are always out of stock, or 1 or 2 of this and that. Insane! I come up with several different items only to be told that they are not selling them today that they are only selling wall decor. I come up with at least $50 of merchandise all of which was on the shelves, I did not have to get a ladder to get up things were not being sold they were right at I level and they refuse to sell them to me because they said that this week was devoted only to wall decor. I hope they are satisfied knowing that they lost my business to the H-E-B that is right next-door. I love coming into this store because there is so much to choose from but twice now I've had a bad experience with the manager. A petite 40'sh Hispanic woman. She's rude & needs lessons on how to speak to customers. On one occasion I was in line waiting to pay when social distancing was being enforced. I was just over the tape on the floor & no where near the customer in front of me who was already at the counter & I was wearing a mask at the time ( I always wear a mask) and this rude ass manager proceeds to tell me in a loud voice in front of a bunch of other customers that I " needed to stand behind the line" meaning the tape on the floor. Talking to me like I was her child. She could have approached me to inform me or spoken to me in a much more polite tone of voice but she was in front of the cash resisters closest to the doorway. Everyone just turned to look at me when she said that. Another time I purchased several items & upon arriving home I noticed that I was charged full price for an item that was 50% off. When I went back to get an adjustment, this same woman tried telling me that I had been given the item at 50% off without even checking the sku number. The item she was referring to was a different item. She told me to come back with all the things I purchased so she could check everything instead of just checking the sku numbers on the receipt. Normally we like shopping at hobby lobby but I have too many bad experiences at this location. On two separate occasions I've taken my three little kids with me and grandma and of course when you are waiting in long lines the kids get anxious and they have a ton of crap sales stuff right at the registers. So my kids all pick up the candy and stuff . I usually pay first followed by grandma and both times the sales associate has accused my grandma of letting the little kids steal stuff. The first time we made it to the door when I realized my two year old was still playing with something and made him march back and put it back, but I guess the lady didn't see it. Instead of asking me politely to check for stuff in the kids hands or even accuse me, they accuse grandma! I wouldn't ever let me kids steal anything but if you guys had better customer service and not so long lines people wouldn't get upset with you! read more

Disappointed with today's visit to Hobby Lobby. I was there to return a few items that I no longer needed for my project "unused items of course" unfortunately I did not have my receipt to return my items but I wasn't looking for a refund to my account. I was solely asking for store credit so I could buy other things I needed and the manager "Francisca" would not allow that to happened I asked if there was any way she could look up my receipt with my credit card because it's been then before at other stores. Francisca did not answer my question but told me she'll return the items for .89 cents each when I paid way more for my Items. I Was disappointed that she even offered that us. I went to buy lamps that were on sale and made the mistake of not looking them over closely and when I got home I noticed that the lamp shade on one lamp has been cut with a box opener. I could not return the lamp shade and they were the lamps I needed and I had bought the only ones left. This is my go to Hobby Lobby and I love it here. I could waste the day away browsing through the aisles and day dreaming about craft projects I could do. This place is for the most part well stocked, except for the time I needed orange deco mesh for Halloween and ALL Hobby Lobby stores in SA were sold out in the month of October (minus 1 star). Other than that fiasco, I've been able to find everything I've need to complete a project. I also love their weekly sales! The floor staff are ok, some are courteous and others seem annoyed when you ask for help. However, there is one particular young man I know to get help from as he is and working and super helpful. The other thing is that more often than not there's waiting in the checkout lanes, but this gives me the chance to pull up the 40% coupon on my phone. read more

I don't agree with those that don't like Hobby Lobby because of the SCOTUS ruling. All the owners wanted was not to have to pay for a drug that would abort a baby. We have people that care more about a pet than they do a baby. Now, if they don't want to have a baby, then they need to be responsible and take care of themselves before getting pregnant. Some people feel strongly and I don't think the irresponsible should be pushing to get what they want. Hobby Lobby was very willing and offered contraception. Why won't the irresponsibles take care of themselves first. I love the 40% off coupon and I always find great deals at HObby Lobby.
