Bad experience with a single employee. 4/30/26 between 7-730pm. My sister-in-law was lining up to pay at a register which she didn't know or wasn't sure if this particular cashier/register was closed as he was still attending to one customer ahead of her. So she asked if he was still open. He responded with I am and was typing something away and then in the filipino language remarked," Ang kulit nito." Which in English translates to, "This one's annoying." Unbeknownst to him, my sister-in-law is also Filipino. So she told him she understood what he said and that it was poor customer service on his part and that all he could've said is he's open or closed and she could've moved on but he was being very rude. And he continued to ask my sister-in-law if she knew her mother which was said in a tone as if to threaten her. She then reported him to a so-called floor manager on duty who clearly wasn't interested and she left furios and called again today to report it. We are going back to this Hobby Lobby to file a formal complaint regarding this behavior by this particular employee who thinks name calling in his own native language, who we happen to also speak, is normal behavior for a Hobby Lobby representative. Shame on him and shame on this branch if they don't do something about his behavior. From name calling to threatening customers by who his mother is/was or whathaveyou. There more likely is only one Filipino cashier there or employee who does the register as well. read more

i think this Hobby Lobby located at Mandarin is my most favorite Hobby Lobby. I think I am almost here every weekend or every other weekend and I am not ashamed to admit that LOL. I always enjoy going here. I think all the Hobby Lobby is greatly planned because they always make sure they have a big parking lot which I love! also their stores are always clean and neat and easy to browse the things they sell. Employees at this location are always friendly and they always have a variety of selection which I love so I do not have to keep going on any other stores, basically this is my one stop shop. As for the value they always provide great quality here. I even purchase a table here and it still looks wonderful. if you are looking for a birthday party, crafts, puzzles, pain, any theme parties, weddings, artificial flowers and many more this is the place to go to! read more

I've been to this location a few times and haven't experienced any issues the first few times I visited. This particular visit, looking for Christmas decorations was massive. My seniors were in overload because of all the fantastic decorations. After this visit I did have to make a return on a few items, I wasn't sure where to go so I asked a sales associate, I explained what I needed to do and she assisted right away. I found the majority of what I was looking for. The staff is always nice & helpful. Will definitely make a return visit. read more

This store is not close to where I live but my regular store does not have the seasonal, Christmas item I need so I decided to try this one. They did not have the specific item I wanted either but they had another item I wanted, so the trip was not wasted. It is a nice new, big store...well stocked! So I'm not much of a crafty person. I normally never go to Hobby Lobby for anything, but my best friend persuaded me that I could find reasonably priced flower pots. I'll say I saw way more that caught my eyes. Tons of great idea for decorating and DIY projects. Also, the store had a fantastic sell. The entire store was practically 50% off. They even had synthetic flowers that looked so real. I couldn't believe it. I think I'll consider a craft project to make a flower arrangement for my home. Very nice store. read more

I've always been a fan of Hobby Lobby and it's no different with this brand new location that just opened last month on the Northside at River City Marketplace. I can literally get lost in this store for hours! They have all things you'd need for crafty projects whether you're painting, scrap booking, making jewelry, sewing, etc., etc., etc. They also do framing here. I haven't had anything framed at this particular store yet, but I know I will in the future. I have had several items framed at the Hobby Lobby in Mandarin and they have always done an excellent job. I love that you can choose your frame and border. They have seasonal items. Right now you'll find all things Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in the store. They have some really cute small furniture pieces here like end tables and shelves. I find these items to be a little pricey though. Here's where I get really lost in the store.... You could decorate your entire home pretty much just from this store alone. Clocks, mirrors, paintings, knick-knacks, pillows, etc. They have some really unique items too. Just browsing around in there tonight I found some really cute things I want to get for my two daughters to use for decorating my granddaughter and grandson's rooms. The employees are really friendly. They have plenty of people at the registers so there's not a long wait to check out. In case you aren't familiar with Hobby Lobby's policy, they are only open Monday - Saturday. That's right, just like Chick-Fil-A, they are closed on Sundays to allow their employees to worship. Many, many people have a huge problem with this. I'm not one of them. If they want to close on Sundays because of their religious beliefs, then more power to them. The one and only reason I gave this store 4 stars rather than 5 is because they close at 8:00pm. At promptly 7:30, they start announcing over the loudspeaker that they are closing. They continue to make this announcement every 5 minutes until 8:00pm. It goes something like this: The time is now 7:30pm and we close at 8:00pm. We are open Monday - Saturday from 9:00am - 8:00pm and we are closed on Sundays to allow our employees to worship. We will be closing in 30 minutes. ........ The time is now 7:35pm and we close at 8:00pm. We are open Monday - Saturday from 9:00am - 8:00pm and we are closed on Sundays to allow our employees to worship. We will be closing in 25 minutes. ........ Ok, that's enough of that. You get the idea. Bottom line is it got real annoying, real fast. So, other than their repetitive, annoying announcements which begin 30 minutes prior to closing each night, I really, really like Hobby Lobby and I'm so, so thrilled we now have one on our side of town! read more

Today there was 4 registers open which got me in and out in a quick manner. I hate that they no longer take coupons so I only buy what I need when it is on sale if I can help it. This store is definitely the place to go if you're into arts and crafts... They have a little bit of everything...The employees are friendly and helpful... The store is clean and very organized.... You can spend hours looking at everything they have; although at around 7:30pm they start announcing that the store will be closing at 8:00pm... They do this repeatedly until the store closes.... We get it people you want us to leave before you close.... But don't you want us to buy something first??? I love hobby lobby it's a great place to browse and get ideas. Unfortunately customer service lack and is something to be desired. None of the employees are friendly and gives you a feeling they don't really want to deal with anyone. I grab what I need make my way to the register, unlucky me gets behind someone with a return. I stay how long can it possibly take, if you really want an answer too long. After the return was done the cashier kept doing, well to be honest I don't know what she was doing. She wouldn't look at me I asked her if she was going to check me out she said no that she couldn't. Cool I move to another line, couple minutes later she call loudly I can help a customer next. I voice my irritation the gentleman which I'm 100% sure was the manager rolled his eyes and talk about being annoyed by customers. He has it written all over his face and body language. I'm giving two stars only because some of the cashiers are very nice. There is a good selection of many different things and there are great sales every week, but they have stopped offering the weekly coupon. The framers (or people who take framing orders but don't really know about framing) are absolutely unwilling to help. They don't listen and they don't care about the customers needs. Worst experience I've ever had in store that prides themselves on, "Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with Biblical principles." I was in the River City Marketplace location (Jax, FL) tonight at 7:40pm, to buy another item for my Daughter's upcoming wedding. While shopping I came across packages of placemats with a tag for $4.99 in the Spring Shop collection that was currently marked 40% off. Two shelves were stocked with these packages of placemats, so I grabbed 2 packages, continued shopping, and went to check out. I asked the cashier if the sign was correct and they were in fact 40% off, she stated yes. I flipped the package over and showed her that the package included "6 pieces." She opened one of the packages and each individual placemat had a separate tag on them. The employee that stocked the shelf didn't open any of the packages and just put all sealed packages on the shelf. She said she would call the Manager, Jeff. I told her that I would walk him back there and show him the 2 shelves of packages. When he came to the register, the cashier was trying to tell him what happened, Jeff grabbed the placemats out of her hand and threw them to the side and said "We'll pull them", then started to walk off. I said, "Well, that was rude!" Jeff stopped and said, "What?" I proceeded to tell him that what he just did was rude . I told the cashier that I would be contacting corporate and would like to speak to Jeff's boss. I looked over at Jeff and he gave me a nasty look and proceeded to walk off, mumbling, and then complain about me to another employee! The cashier called over the Assistant Manager (Sharmini) and I told her what happened, she stated that he wasn't giving me the dirty look, but the cashier because "she should have taken care of it, but she called him." I told her, "No he was looking at me and gave me the dirty look." I asked her for the number to the corporate office to file a complaint against Jeff. She said, "I don't have it." She's the Assistant Manager, but doesn't have a number for a customer to file a complaint? I asked again, and was told two more times that she doesn't have it. All of this took place at the busiest time of the year! I'm not happy about this experience at all. Especially since I've spent hundreds of dollars this year for my daughter's Bridal Shower, and her Wedding! Not to mention all the stuff I've purchased for my home and other occasions. With Management like this, it makes me wish I'd never spent a dime in that store!! read more
