Refund was never issued, and LOWES is now lying and making up stories saying item not reported in time well if it wasn't reported in time then why do I have correspondence saying they will resolve and issue a refund? I needed to get new ceiling fans installed. I had to come twice to get someone to help me with installation which was a little frustrating because I get a little overwhelmed in Home Improvement stores. For the purpose of this review, I'll discuss my second time coming. I really wanted some help to find the best ceiling fan. I asked one of the associates to help me and he passed me off to another associate that didn't really seem to want to help much. I went ahead and bought two ceiling after walking around for about an hour trying to figure out the right fan for my home. Another issue I had was the fact that installation is charged per installation which adds up quickly. I still decided to go ahead and get it done. My final downer of the experience was the fact that after I paid, I wasn't accommodated for set up. They didn't have any weekend installation and limit hours for week day installation which is frustrating for me because I have a long commute from work. I hope these fan were worth this much hassle. read more

Customer service failure and success all in one visit! As a longtime customer of Lowes, I was hugely disappointed in a young, inexperienced lad, Trenton, who refused to help transfer two 60lb. bags of concrete mix onto a flatbed for an older woman (60+ years old). His outright refusal was indicative on a younger generation who doesn't understand customer service and real life responsibility, yet is happy to hold his hand out to collect his paycheck and whine about life being so unfair. On the other hand, another employee, Yolanda came to the rescue, easily transferred the two 60lb. bags of concrete mix onto a flatbed and made good on Lowe's customer service commitment. Lowe's customer service is always very good at store 2472 in North Jacksonville. Jackie truly stands out for all the right reasons! Most of my purchases are in the garden department, in spite of my purple thumb. Obviously I'm someone who needs a lot of help! Today I needed help finding a certain kind of plant with certain colors in a hanging basket, and Jackie was utterly amazing! We are from out of state my husband was doing some house fixing for my mother in laws. We stop by Lowe's in RiverCity Market place location. The moment we enter the store a very nice gentleman greeted us and directed us to the aisle that we needed to be. One of the associates name Robert assisted my husband in finding screws/ bolts. Since buying a home, we have found ourselves at this particular Lowe's quite often. Over the past three months, we've been here at least a couple of times a week. Heck, there have been occasions we've found ourselves here several times in just one day! I'm pretty sure we've shopping in and purchased at least one thing from every single department here. Because the hubby and I are newbies to home improvements, we've needed a lot of advice and counsel and we've received nothing but excellent and outstanding customer service from very knowledgeable employees in each department. A toilet seat doesn't fit every single toilet. Who knew?! LOL A door is not just a door. Who knew?! :D I've even called the store a couple of times and had to speak with someone regarding how to measure certain things and I've received excellent customer service over the phone as well. I should also mention that I've never had any trouble locating an employee in each department to help. Because we've been doing so many home improvements, we got a Lowe's credit card. We've had to get a refund on a couple of things that we've purchased incorrectly and the process has been a breeze. I haven't had to keep up with receipts because we've purchased the items on the card and it's already in the system. Love that my returns just go right back on the card. Also using the card gives me 5% off all my purchases... I really love that! Here's something you may not expect from Lowe's. Their huge packs of Angel Soft toilet paper is actually cheaper than it is in Walmart. So yes, I've even been buying our toilet paper here since I discovered this. This Lowe's is located right next door to Walmart and it's much easier to run in and out of Lowe's really quickly versus Walmart. Plus, I'll mention again, it's cheaper (even before my 5% discount). There are many more things we want to do to the house over the next few years, so I'm sure we'll continue to be frequent customers here. read more

Today was a better experience versus the one I had two weeks ago. I was able to find a willing helper in the plumbing area. I got everything I needed and good advice on how and what to use to fix my minor irrigation issues. I also found a great annual flower to add to my in-ground pool area. Can't wait to put it in my favorite plant pot to replace one of my favorite plant that died from this past winter. Hey, don't think like that, guys like flowers too. read more

As a military family we often visit Lowe's due to the military discount and products in the store. However, Saturday morning we decided to take our business to Home Depot. We came in for air filters and I grabbed a citronella candle I wanted. Went to pay and the candle didn't have a bar code. The RUDE lady working said "uh you can go get one with a bar code"... not "can you?" But "YOU CAN". The others didn't have bar codes either. So she called someone to look it up. Before they even made it to the register I had it pulled up on my phone (not that complicated). She still wouldn't ring it up. I told her to just forget about it that we'd just take the air filter. My husband showed his military ID and she said "phone number?" And he said "oh I don't think my number is in the system" and she said "then you can't get the military discount, sorry". WHAT?!? We have been coming here forever and have NEVER given a phone number for a military discount. She said "we changed our rules and you have to go online to put your number in our system to now get military discounts"... So apparently a military ID means nothing and shows nothing. My husband serves but he can't get a discount anymore unless he goes online and registers. RIDICULOUS. Not to mention how unprofessional this woman was. She does not need a job working customer service. read more

So, this has been my go to Lowe's for years. Lately they have been missing the mark. They have basically taken away the military discount (the whole reason I started shopping at Lowe's instead of the Depot) very disappointing. Now they will only cut wood ONE cut right down the middle. "Enough to help fit in your car." After waiting for a while and then having to go to the front of the store to get help, they then couldn't help cut the wood. I totally understand not doing precision cuts and not wanting to cut a board 50 times. However, not cutting a plywood board more than just once down the center is ridiculous. I asked if they could at least cut the ONE CUT at a certain length, slightly off center, and I was told no. So I called Home Depot, they will cut the boards at any length over 4" and do multiple cuts on one board. I will no longer be a Lowe's customer, too much has gone down hill in the last few years. read more

This Lowe's has been a little hit and miss for me. I love the store and it used to be easy to find good help. However, the last couple of times I've had mediocre customer service. I don't know if one of the customer service guys didn't hear me or just walked away from me while I was asking for help and kind of chasing him down. He never did turn around and I gave up. It could have been because of the masks, not sure. As I was in line to check out I did ask the young lady behind the counter where something was and she said she didn't know, not even trying to find out for me. She gave me all but 10 seconds of her time, with trying to solve my problem. She left her cashier Candida standing their for answers that she couldn't give me. Hannah in the paint department... GIVE THAT GIRL A RAISE! I spent quite a bit of time with Hannah at the Northside Lowe's today trying to solve a paint mystery and not only was she incredibly patient and knowledgable but she helped me figure it out and we got the paint color right, finally! I had gotten a sample of a particular paint color from another location and loved it. When I purchased a quart of the same color and tested it on the wall it did not match my sample, it was much darker and more brown (the original color is a very soft peachy color). Hannah did some playing in the computer system and noticed that when you go to make that color in a sample jar it adds black to the mixture, but when you make it in a quart it adds green which is odd. We tried the sample formula in a quart and got super close to my original sample jar color but not exact. So we messed with the colors some more, painted my original sample on a piece of scrap wood and had the system calibrate a match. It was off still initially and then she recalibrated the machine and did a sample of my swatch and it was finally an exact match! I am so happy, after having the paint remade twice and then attempting to lighten it to match and just not getting the color right, Hannah helped me finally figure it out and the color is identical to my sample (as it should have been all along, but who knew there were so many different factors that affect the paint color when it's being made). I can confidently say that had she not been working today I would have still been unhappy with my paint and would likely still be attempting to get a perfect match. She is an exceptional employee and truly saved my sanity today! Thank you so much, Hannah! I hope that you receive the recognition from your management that you deserve. Happy holidays! read more

Until we moved into our new home we've never had much of a need to shop at Lowe's, but with all of the work that needs to be done it's now become a necessity.... Went in to purchase grill and new lawnmower for my husband for Father's Day and had one of the best customer service experiences. Lynda(Lydia?) who works in the grill section did an excellent job not only pointing me in the right direction but went above and beyond to gather everything I wanted, lead me to the checkout, explained the warranty available and helped me out to the car AND loaded my items. She handled everything from the grill to all of its accessories, smoker/cover/coals/propane tank, the whole 9 yards. read more

I'm a contractor for the last 12 years and I can't stand lowes. Reasons. 1. The staff is rude. 2. Stores only 1 / 4th of the construction building codes material in stock. 8 out of 10 times I come in to the store for a specific item for my construction projects all they say is sorry we don't stock them. Well then I have to drive to home Depot and they carry everything in Stock. Home Depot carries every thing that codes require for building. It seems they listen to their builders. 3. Lowes does not listen to these complaints. I've brought this to them over and over and their response is management doesn't have time to deal with this. I'm pretty sure that if I can't find state code building materials then other contractors can't either. It hurts me as a contractor to go waste my time to find out that so many items are not considered important to the management but are requirements for the industry. Some of my projects are closer to lowes than home depot and I don't mind either one. But lowes is wasting so much time that it needs to be put out there for others to hear this and maybe the management will find time to take this seriously. Otherwise lowes will just be a Paint store. 4. The few Material that lowes does carry is so limited that when I do get it. It only covers portions of my projects. We build projects anywhere from 5,000 sqft to 10,000 sqft. We spend average $30,000 a month with home depot but maybe $1,000. With lowes. To everyone. If you have to choose between the 2 go to Homedepot give them the credit for making sure that we have everything we need daily to run our businesses. read more

This particular lowes has been up and down in the customer service department since it opened. I shop here a lot cause it's so close by but find myself going to Home Depot a lot now. Just a general thing about Lowe's that I've noticed and don't particularly like is that they have gradually gotten rid of all their different hand tools that aren't their own kobalt brand. We shop at this Lowe's often and always have a great experience, but today was the best experience I've had yet. I needed flooring to redo my walk-in closet and I got to flooring (with my four-month-old and three year old in tow) and was immediately greeted by Lyam. He helped me pick the proper flooring that I needed, went over all of the different types and pricing options, then he went and got me a cart, cashed me out, and helped me get everything to my car. As a mom, it is usually pretty hectic with my kids when I go into public and I had been putting off this trip for that reason, but I feel like Lyam truly went above and beyond. In addition, on the way too the front of the store, he was smiling and getting just about every single customer that we passed. You could tell he had made genuine connections with the customers in the store. The world truly needs more people like him and it made my day better by having the opportunity to meet him! It was my first time in this store, the employees are very helpful. Found what I need it. But most likely wont be coming back, cashier over charge me for an item, I bought 2 matresses covers and she charge for 3. I know is part my fault because I should have checked the receipt before leaving the store but I had too many items to find the error at the store. I've met some great, helpful employees working here. And just like anywhere else some employees that well should not be working or around other people. Overall it is a good Lowe's, but if you are wanting to do a return, clear your afternoon as you will see a handful of associates walk into the area look at you and walk away, even saw one be told to take care of the returns only to watch them come stand there till the manager looked away to leave and walk away. read more

I wouldn't go to this specific store for any big ticket items as their return policy is shady and borderline dishonest. Customer service is below par at the return and service counter. The staff is clueless as to what to do or who to contact when you have a return, and worst avoids taking responsibility. Low wages, poor management, ..etc who knows why. This review is for the installation services Lowes offers. I bought my house 3 years ago and in that time I've turned to Lowes for my upgrading needs. Those upgrades include: Kitchen backsplash, Storm door on the front, gutters on the back of the house only, and glass bathtub doors in my spare bathroom. Usually when you want an upgrade done you want the job completed in a specific amount of time, and since you're paying a lot of hard earned money to have them do it you expect it to be perfect. I'm not so sure Lowes cares about the quality of work their contractors actually do, nor do they care about the amount of time the job gets completed. The gutters were the first project; it took them longer than expected to come out and measure and inspect the property to see what tools and material we needed, once we picked out and paid for the service, it took them weeks to come out and do it. Unsatisfactory. Next was the storm door; initial inspection again took forever, installation was quick and painless. We'll say satisfactory just because the contractor explained why the initial inspection took so long. Next was backsplash; inspection was quick, installation was quick but the contractor did not take his time and the end product was screwed up so we had to contact lowes to send out someone else to fix the issue. The backsplash is beautiful but a closer look you can tell it's still not perfect. Unsatisfactory Last we installed the tub doors. After picking out our door we scheduled the install. It took 3 weeks to get a contractor just to measure. When he was done it took another 4 days for lowes to get those numbers. We went back in to pay and they told us because of the brand of door we chose, that company has to send out their own contractor to measure. Needles to say, I was pissed but I stayed calm. It took another 3 weeks to get the second contractor to come out and measure. Then another week for the supplies to be ordered. When they finally installed he door it took a whole 45 min to do it. The door is beautiful, but because of the process it was extremely unsatisfactory. I will not use lowes again read more

Contracted with Lowe's in May 2021 to have my roof replaced. Lowe's sub-contracted the job to Best Roof Jacksonville. During the installation I was advised that I needed to have 7 sheets of plywood replaced. Upon completion of the roofing job and an initial view from the outside I was satisfied with the job, However, after having to enter the attic for unrelated matters I observed areas of concerns which were directly related to the repair. I took pictures and videos and forwarded to Lowe's (2 June 2021). I received an immediate response to Lowe's and expected a quick resolution. However, that was not the case. After numerous conversations with Lowe's personnel it became obvious that they had not reviewed the documentation, nor had any intentions of sending a Lowes representative to my home. To the credit of Best Roof Jax they did initially send someone to my home; although I disagreed with their conclusion. After going round and round with this matter I finally recommended to Lowe's that they send a 3rd party out to make a decision on the roof. I allowed Lowe's to choose and send a 3rd party (representative from another one of the roofing companies that they use). The 3rd party made an inspection, took pictures and advised me that he would follow-up with Lowes. The 3rd party did adequately address my concerns, but there remained outstanding issues. Upon completion of the third party review there appear to have been no follow-up between the 3rd party and Lowes, and the pictures that the 3rd party had taken were never reviewed by Lowes. Lowe's apparently closed the matter (July 2021) by ceasing further communications regarding it. For anyone reading this review please understand the following (1) The inspection done by the city of Jacksonville will encompass the outside roof; they will not enter the attic (2) You only get a one year warranty on workmanship of the roof. (3) Consider obtaining independent roof inspection if you have issues/concerns. Finally: As of now I just have to cross my fingers and hope that my concerns were incorrect! read more

Update on my impact windows installation through Lowes: Shortly after the install I noticed two large gaps, top and bottom, in the sliding glass door. The aluminum door panel frame was cut, as was the inter locker on the panel. It appeared this was done so the door panel would fit in the frame. I asked the installer when he came back out to re caulk the windows if his team made the cuts. He said no, that Pella cut the door and interlocker. Long story short, Pella came out last week, inspected the door, took pictures, and said the installers made the cuts so the door panel would fit into the frame. He surmised the frame was improperly stalled therefore the door panel had to be cut for it to fit. Pella will be coming out to repair the door next month. By the way, the bottom gap is large enough for snakes, rodents, and lizards to crawl into the house. Thank you, Lowes................... read more
