I was so pleased at first to relocate to an area that has a Hobby Lobby! I enjoy many of your products. I have however been very upset with my recent trips to said store.
In November, we went to the store and purchased 6 stocking holders and 3 stockings and some clearance fall items. Upon returning home, I glanced at the receipt that we had been given and I noticed we were charged for seven stocking holders, instead of six. This was on 11/18.
He returned to the store on 11/27/17, the person who he was receiving customer service from, if you want to call it that, basically called him a liar and wanted to know why it took him 10 days to come back to the store. Well, as usual for us by the time we make it to Hobby Lobby on a Saturday night, its 7pm, so you were closed at 8pm, you were closed Sunday, then that Thursday was the holiday, Thanksgiving, and closed again on Sunday. So that is why it took us 10 days to get back there. We also live 40 minutes away.
They said that they would review the tape, and came back and said they had no way to tell if 6 or 7 were rung up. They made him wait for a long time and in doing so, he said they let a line build up behind him and he suggested to the cashier that he step aside and they take care of the other customers. They insisted on seeing a photo of them, which I sent immediately as I had taken a picture of my display for my mom the day prior. We also only have 6 people in our family, I'm not sure what we would want the 7th one for?! Then they said the "photo proves nothing." They then said we needed to bring everything on the receipt back to the store. He said told them that was ridiculous. They then took his information and said that they would call. He states that after about 15 minutes he received a call. The call was to inform him, that he wasn't a liar, we only purchased 6 holders and were charged for 7. Then, it got better, they realized that the cashier also missed charged us for one of the stockings we bought and so they only owed us a $1.50, which upon our calculation was really supposed to be about $2.50.
So yes, the cashier messed up and basically made us even, but the customer service over the whole ordeal was disgusting. NOW, I went to move the stockings two nights ago and I realized that one I bought there on that 11/18 trip was ripped, by a box cutter it looks like. I would know, as I worked at a greenhouse and have made that mistake before when opening a box of stockings. Don't worry, I don't think I will return it, they will likely have to check the cameras and make sure it looks like someone opened that box with the box cutter too deep. I'll eat my money on that but rest assured I will not be shopping there again anytime soon. Now I have to also let an 8 year know that his new stocking that he really liked is going in the garbage and he will not be getting an exact replacement.
Also, back in August we were interested in some handles/knobs for our kitchen. They said, "Oh don't order them online, we will order them and let you know when we get them.". We called in September to check on the order, they said it hadn't come in yet, called a few weeks later and they had no idea what we were talking about, imagine that. So, it's December, my cabinets have no handles thanks to the customer service at Hobby Lobby. read more
