Walt's is a pretty big hobby shop, with a wide variety of stuff, including RC cars and planes, plastic models, model rockets, and lots of random supplies for making cool stuff, including paints, balsa, dowels, glues, etc. And as big as it is, there's an even bigger space out back with an RC car track, a crawler track, and even an extra meeting room. That's where Walt's really shines -- long after the posted hours, they open the space to all sorts of local hobby groups. I've been there with a rocket club in the back room, RC cars going on the track, and yet another group up front, meeting in the actual hobby shop part. The staff is super-friendly, and willing to help out and offer suggestions for whatever kind of project you want to take on. Spent hours on the internet, called multiple sources to try to fix a problem w/ my grandsons Traxxas 4x4 VXL. Drove from Clayton to Walt's for help....2 minutes later it was fixed...no charge. The owner, Bruce, is very rude when ever I'm being helped by him. Mike seems to be the only friendly guy there. When the place was run by Walt, Walt was very helpful and friendly. Bruce does not seem to take after his father. It really is a shame that they sold out to Corporate America. Now there product line of RC vehicles is very limited. It also sucks that they are the only hobby shop in the area. read more
