If there is a Ninth Circle of Hell - it will have a Hobby Lobby. If you aren't into this store, and you go with someone who is, that person can never question your level of commitment to whatever relationship you share. Never have I felt so helpless, soulless, joyless, or on the brink of despair as when I am trapped within these walls. They press in on me from every direction, sending me further and further on a downward emotional trajectory. Today I waited for an hour and a half for help at the frame section. Unfortunately, if you have something you need custom framed, this is the place. Luckily, at the end of my wait, I met with Isabel and Charice. They both took great care of me and were very knowledgeable about their products. I detected a small glimmer of hope and something not unlike a smile briefly touched my countenance. Leaving the store, I saw long lines at the registers - people who went there hoping for a good time and who got their arts and crafts supplies while leaving behind some part of their souls. I have never been a huge fan of Hobby Lobby, but it had been a few years since I had been to one so I decided to stop in at this one since it was close to where I was going to for lunch. Not much has changed... They still sell furniture items that feel unsteady (wobbly) to me. They still have a lot of China made decor, ironically this time for the July 4th holiday...there is something that strikes me as wrong about that, is that just me? The service is good at these places though, they had a large staff who was stocking the shelves. I was asked several times by them if they could assist me with anything. Tons of parking. Tons. Everyone knows you go to Hobby lobby for all your decor needs. This particular visit was for Christmas decor. They had great items. Everything was at a great price. They typically have the holiday items on a rotating sales schedule so if it's not on sale one week, try the next and you'll most likely walk out with a great deal. The team here is very kind. There's always an ample amount of baskets to do your shopping with my biggest complaint is that they do not accept Apple Pay. I had to stand in line during the holidays, which was already a long line just for a lady to have forgotten her wallet and they don't accept Apple Pay and mind you her total was over $300 and if you can just imagine that's a lot of items to scan with most of it being 50% off for her to just not be able to pay so that was kind of frustrating to wait through because she had to find someone to come help her pay. They also only had two cashiers available this night. One was for returns and the other one was for purchases so that did kind of damp in my experience because I was ready to leave. I want to apologize to Manager Mark for being rude earlier tonight. Want to explain why I was "over the top" angry at my experience. I bought a framed map with a broken glass. Brought it to Hobby Lobby to replace the glass. Picked it up Oct 27, paid the $42 plus tax. Brought it home and even without opening the wrapping, I could see through the "saran wrap" that the glass was too small. On the bottom of the map, the glass looked like it was not in the frame and could pop out. Brought it back to be fixed. The woman I spoke to said it was obviously 1/4 inch too small and they would fix it for free. Tonight I came to pick it up and Maya walked it up to the cash register. As I was waiting in line I looked at the paperwork she gave me, it had a balance of $42 plus tax. I told her I already paid for this. She looked confused. She called someone (it was man in charge of framing, who was off duty) and he confirmed I had to pay. I again said I already. She said "any payment should be reflected computer" before walking away. I decided to go to my car, fish in my trunk and dig up the receipt from Oct 27. Returned to store, by then line had gotten even longer. When it was my turn, cashier said I owed $42 plus tax. I showed receipt. Manager Mark was called and he looked confused looking at the paperwork before finally declaring I was free to go. I left in a huff without saying anything and he said "I said I apologize." I said this earlier to Manager Mark, it's bad enough you did the framing wrong the first time and I had to make TWO separate visits to get it fixed (first top drop off and second to pick up). But on the second separate visits I have to jump through hoops to prove to you I already paid. What if I hadn't saved receipt? I give 5 stars to Manager Mark for his deescalation skills, zero stars to the framing department, and zero stars to your cashier system for not recording that I already paid. So that averages you out to a 1.6 and that rounds to a 2. read more

They make you feel like a criminal for returns. I had bought a couple of things which were damaged and called the store. They said to bring it back but once I got all the way to the store, they refused saying they would have to check the video to see how the "merchandise left the store" and said no to the return. I went into the Grapevine store several weeks ago and witnessed Nikki yelling and cursing at another employee. This happened at the front of the store by the cash registers in front of other employees and customers. For a company that espouses Christian values I was shocked at this behavior, which I did report to their corporate HQ and was assured that this issue would be addressed by the store manager. I returned to the store for the first time the other day and what did I see? Almost the exact same behavior from Nikki directed at the exact same employee. I can only assume at this point that this type of behavior is not only tolerated but encouraged by management. Jan was efficient and also brought me directly to the aisle and didn't just stop there, but helped find the particular frame I was looking for. Additionally, Andrea the manager was handling numerous activities or assignments at once while being professional and efficient as well. Having an ongoing issue with loss prevention efforts in this store when shopping in the jewelry aisle. Most recently, I needed to purchase a package of Swarovski crystals. I had to wait for someone to come and write down a "code" and get them "out of the back." Understanding that they were evidently having a huge problem, I was okay with this procedure. I was not okay however when the woman declined to hand them to me, instead insisting on walking them to the front of the store, handing them to a cashier instead. When I asked to speak to a manager about the absurdity of not being trusted to walk to the register with one package of crystals, I was informed this person was the manager. I actually came back last night at around 7:15pm to purchase a few more items. As I was walking out, I saw a man who clearly was a manager, bent over, elbows on the table, idling. I attempted to speak to him about my experience and how it was ultimately a deterrent to customers. He handled it very poorly, stating he was new one minute, then vaguely affirming "it might be the policy," then spending too much time on the unimportant issue of who it was that I talked to (evidently, I had been given the wrong name), when a simple check of Thursday's roster would have confirmed an identity. I told him I was more concerned about "the policy." I realized he wasn't going to help me and so I told him effectively nevermind, I was going to call corporate on Monday. He thanked my back for my feedback sarcastically. I also had an issue this week where they didn't put out the sign indicating metal gallery was on sale, and when I told the employee Thursday, she argued that my flyer was old. I had to point it out to her in her book. Because of the way Hobby Lobby insists on doing it's sales, people argue all of the time and so if you try to tell someone, "hey your sign is down" they come claws out at you insisting the item isn't on sale instead, as in this case. This has happened (absence of signage) before in this store. (They never put up the sign last week). The rest of the employees are great. I've never had a problem with any of them (until I asked for a manager). One of the ideas I had that I wanted to suggest to corporate was to ask if they would waive shipping on online orders shipped directly to the store, like other retailers do, so that I don't have to deal with this crap in the future. I've also wondered if they should maybe just reconfigure the store, so that there's a kiosk in the center with a staff member present, and have all of the merchandise facing the kiosk? There are a number of solutions preferable to alienating the customer, which ultimately is going to kill business. Unfortunately, jewelry supply theft is a huge industry-wide problem. I definitely understand that loss prevention efforts are needed; My point is, that alienating your honest customers isn't the way to combat the problem. That's all I was trying to say. In all the years I've shopped at this store, this was the first time I asked to speak to a manager. I feel it was handled very poorly. read more

Hobby Lobby is like an old familiar friend; it's always there for you (except on Sundays). When you need to make a poster, send invitations, decorate for a party, decorate for the holidays, find a last minute gift, frame a picture, buy some new candles, help your brother with his science project, etc., etc... the list goes on! You can't possibly walk into this store and not find something that you want. But the problem is, you might not want to wait in line to buy it. I mean, I can wait in line just fine. I'm a patient person. I'll wait in a super long line and be just peachy about it, as long as there are employees at the registers. But it seems to me that 90% of the time I go to Hobby Lobby, there are approximately 10,000 people in line, and approximately 1 register is open. Why? What is that about? There are like 40 employees in the Styrofoam ball aisle stocking shelves, but only one person is working the register. It's just.... it's frustrating. And I always end up in line behind the over-devoted scrap-booker who is buying a million tiny paper shapes that each cost a different amount. :( But besides the line issue that I dread and the fact that they're closed on Sunday (which always happens to be the day I'm feeling the craftiest), I'll always be a fan of Hobby Lobby. If something you want isn't half off, just wait til next week! My favorite time to go to HL is when the holiday decor pops up, which happens earlier every year. I've had great shopping experience here at this location, except for Tuesday Jan. 30.2024. As I ap the cashier Leticia, she didn't smile nor greet me. Funny thing is that she was friendly with the white customer before me and with the other white customers after me. I guess being Mexican just like her reminds her of what she wished she wasn't. Anyway, I kept my composure and not let that ruin my ex at the store. The only thing that really upset me that day was when she fused about having to wrap my round mirrors in paper! Then, she bagged my plastic plates and shoved the on the counter rudely making my purchase fly out hit me and fall to the ground. She didn't apologize nor offer to help pick them up. Another store associate came and offer to help and then leticia was apologetic. Not genuine at all. I feel sorry for her. Leticia, you need to accept who God made you to be and be happy. Had a DIY idea. Went to Hobby Lobby and went to the fabric department. Spoke with an employee, I believe her name was Sandy. I explained what I was wanting to do and showed her pictures with measurements. I explained I was a beginner and how I wanted to make it as simple as possible. She helped me and cut the fabric. I was excited to start the project. I went home and the fabric DID NOT fit. I took the fabric back to the store the next day. Had my child with me this time and even brought the stool I was trying to cover. Sandy was there again and very rudely told me she cut it right. That I would have to sew the pattern. I explained to her that is not what I told her I wanted to do. I do not have a sewing machine. As I explained to her before I wanted to be a drape the fabric and staple it underneath. Sandy was very rude and I just left as I did not want to get into a confrontation in the store with her being rude. My child even said she was being rude. If you can not provide what the customer is requesting than simply say that instead of selling them something that they do not want. AND do not be rude to customers if you did not do it right in the first place. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I love the product selection at Hobby Lobby. You can find just about any kind of craft material you're looking for and the prices are pretty much on par with other area craft stores. Their prices would probably be equal to Michael's if only they'd start offering more discounts like Michael's does with their amazing coupon deals. Despite the great selection, I can only give Hobby Lobby two stars for poor customer service - everyone who works here seems to hate their job. No one smiles, let alone asks you if you need help finding anything. My other issue is the ridiculously long lines. Don't even bother going on the weekend unless you enjoy waiting in line forever. It's not unusual to go here on a busy Saturday and find just one register open. They're not open on Sunday, so they should expect a large crowd on Saturdays. ITS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH My favorite time to come here is in July, when they pull out the fall decor! I wander the aisles aimlessly and dream of cooler days to come. I've done this for years! Its like a tradition for me to go in and buy a seasonally inappropriate pumpkin candle in the middle of summer and let everyone make fun of me. WHATEVS! They keep all seasonal stuff at the front of the store, followed by outdoor decor, greeting cards, gift wrap, baking supplies, card supplies, scrapbooking, and clearance. You then have, woodwork, ceramic, paint, framing, the list goes on and on. Staff is always very friendly with questions, and helping find items around the store. I recently was in need of a few fake flowers for a project I made, the only issue is that I typically hate the look of fake flowers and I can spot them a mile away. I decided to check out Hobby lobby to see if they stocked anything I could use. To my surprise they had a few choices that didn't look as fake as the other stores, that being said they do stock the typical sparkly sunflower and plastic roses. Once I picked up what I needed I walked the rest of the store, they offer a good seasonal selection but for myself I felt it was a bit overpriced. I often see coupons in the paper for Hobby Lobby so if you each for a coupon it brings the price to a much more reasonable level. The specific location seemed organized, the store flows in a logical order so you will find what you want easier (huge plus).
