If ever I felt discriminated against, it would be from an experience shopping at this store. I saw folks who were older, Caucasian being treated with a friendly smile and small talk. I however, felt like a criminal anytime I asked for help or had a question for manager Max or cashier Barbara. I was trying to resolve a situation and needed to get only $10 back (I read online all you needed was an ID). Everyone else in the checkout line was treated like they were old neighbors! But me? Any questions I asked were put down, no eye contact, no smile. I am shocked at the poor treatment of your customers. Shame on you! Looking for variety in home decor? This place has everything, even following themes spread throughout the store such as the Old West, the Beach, Country Living and several others. Very eclectic offerings throughout, some items are cheaply made so 1 star off (including rather dismal restrooms, but they are usually clean). If you like old fashioned candy they have several types up front, including 3 color cocanut bar, Gold Rush gum in the cotton bags and Cherry Mash. Beautiful selection of fabric and paper flowers, decorative furniture and an art framing department. Check the 50% off per week offerings. I purchased a wooden Christmas tree that was narrow and about 36" tall, on sale for $40. I could tell it was susceptible to damage so I nicely asked that the clerk wrap it. She huffed a bit and lazily put about three loose sheets of paper around it and put it in their normal size bag which only covered about 15". I gently put it on the floor of the front seat of my car, the safest place to transport. But before I even arrived home it split in half! When I tried to return it, the assistant manager scowled at me and said they didn't accept damaged goods. I told her the story and said I had my receipt. She called the main manager over who repeated they do not accept "damaged goods". They were extremely rude. I was stunned at the attitude and unfriendliness! Not to mention I was stuck with an unusable item and out $40!! NEVER GOING BACK. read more

I am a big fan of Hobby Lobby - their products are frequently priced lower than those at Joann or Michael;s, and they offer a 40% off coupon on their web site each week, which can reduce prices even further. In addition to crafty items, such as scrapbooking materials (papercrafting, as I believe it is now called), art supplies, and fabrics, they also offer home decor items, including vintage-looking metal signs, frames and baskets, and furniture. And I'm not even addressing their holiday decorations, which appear early and take up 1/4 of the store. Best of all, Hobby Lobby offers custom framing, which is always lower than the two aforementioned stores (and they do a better job, in my opinion). In other words, Hobby Lobby has a lot going on and I'm a big fan. This store in particular hasn't struck me as being a cut above the rest - the service is acceptable (no one is overly friendly, but they get the job done), and the store layout isn't as organized as that of the Hobby Lobby in West Chicago. But I'm not shopping here to make friends, and I can find what I need in a decent amount of time, so I can't complain too much. And as I said, if you're looking for craft items or interesting decor pieces, Hobby Lobby would be my first stop. read more

I love this store and never had a problem but today I was there and the lady that works back in fabric was SO rude to me!! Older lady, short blonde/ gray hair. I was looking for something to make dream catchers for my daughters first birthday party. I noticed a package of pre cut fabric strips on the counter. I simply picked it up just to look at it and I was scolded and told to NOT touch her boxed stuff and given the evilest look! First of all, it wasn't IN the box and I was simply just looking at it. I thought she could have handled the situation a LOT better. I wanted to speak to manager but was a little hot tempered at the moment. Just took my stuff to the counter and checked out. Maybe she was having a bad morning?? she could have been a little nicer. It's only 9:15 and the store opened at 9:00. I hope she perks up and is friendlier the rest of the day. read more

I just got back from Hobby Lobby and am still so upset that I thought I would write a review. The lady in the framing department was ridiculously rude! Any questions I had were way too big of an inconvenience for her. Maybe a little customer courtesy training to get returning customers. The manager has always been nice, but most of the time the employees are miserable. On a side note, places that way over price everything so they can tell you it's a 50% off special, when it's actually still slightly overpriced after that, irritate me and are very insulting to people's intelligence. Yes, that small, crappy ornament for a tree made out of sticks was originally $25! Ok, sure. Try $3 Hobby Lobby. Half off is not deal! read more

The store is enormous and you can find home decor, furniture, Christmas decor, etc. Prices are reasonable.

Good store good products but the assistant manager, Courtney, was extremely rude to us. I was there with my littler siblings and she was disrespectful and just assumed we weren't buying because we were younger, and told us to get out if we weren't buying even though I was purchasing. She kept following us around and assuming we were being rowdy and messing around. I think I'll be going to Michaels from now on. read more

I realllly like this store. Most of the time I have no need to shop here, but I could probably drop a couple hundy on miscellaneous items anyhow!! I don't scrapbook but if I did, I'd def shop here more often. There is a huge selection of paper in all kinds of different patterns and textures. HL also has an awesome selection of holiday decorations. So much garland and sparkly wonderfulness. I highly recommend this store to anyone that enjoys crafts or decorating. read more

I like this place. I find the prices reasonable, and the stock always updated. Generally, I pick up picture frames for my photos.

I needed a simple custom mat made. I had to make three trips and it was still wrong. The young man at the desk measured my artwork twice while I was standing there. He said he could not make the mat the same day, which they normally do when it is the most simple basic mat - one simple square with an in-stock mat board. So I left, agreeing to come back when they called me. He advised it would take THREE DAYS. They called me the next day. I picked it up, took it home, unwrapped it and....IT WAS SO WRONG. So I had to return to the store AGAIN. The manager was totally not helpful. She barely spoke and took me back to framing, told the kid it was wrong and they both just stood there. I said I wanted a refund and a new, correct mat cut. They were clueless. I then said to forget it and just refund me. How can you trust them with your actual artwork if they can't even use a tape measure!!? The manager was borderline rude and totally indifferent. It was a photo of Marilyn Monroe and I got the idea that she didn't like me...the store is owned and run by corrupt religious zealots. When I told her "I'll take it somewhere else", she didn't say a thing. She just let me leave without even an apology for all my wasted time. Never again. read more

I want to thank Dave the manager at the Batavia, IL store on Randall road for being exceptionally rude to my wife while she was trying to make a return with the receipt. He went out of his way to NOT do it even though she had the receipt, because it was purchased at another store. I'm glad to see that "Christian" companies treat their customers so well when they're not buying things. He also did everything he could to not apologize for anything when I called to ask why he and the cashier were so difficult and rude. By the way, he did finally return one item, but wouldn't accept the $4 bottle of glue that was still sealed in the original packaging and unused, and on the same receipt. I have always had great customer service at this store. The employees will help you find what you are looking for by bringing to the isle and location the item is at. I have also had employees help me with crotchet projects. My mother in law was receiving chemo and wanted to make her some nice soft warm hats and an employee helped me pick out all the products and even went the extra mile in teaching me how to make the hat. Yep, I stayed a bit and they would come and check on my progress while crotcheting the hat right there in the back part of the store where the materials, ribbons etc are. They even wrote down instructions to follow. When I completed the hat I returned to the store to have them see the end result. I will continue shopping there and always look for that same customer service that I have always received. Thank you all for your hard work! read more

I recently ordered Christmas presents from there and not only did they blame it all on me when my package somehow went twice to an address that doesn't exist but refused to help rectify the situation! In the end I asked to speak to a supervisor and instead of being placed on hold i was hung up on! read more
