I had a disappointing experience at the HomeGoods in Geneva Commons on March 6 around 7 PM while trying to return two items. The cashier was not very welcoming, and when one item could not be found through the receipt lookup, she called the manager over the radio. When the manager (name tag said Chad) arrived, he acted as if he didn't know what was going on even though the situation had just been explained. He then said the issue was that the purchase was over 30 days old, which neither the cashier nor I had been told earlier. His tone felt dismissive and unprofessional, and at one point it seemed like he was mocking me while asking what I wanted to do. In the end, the store did exactly what I had asked from the beginning -- process the return and give store credit. When I asked for the manager's last name, the cashier refused to provide it and only whispered her own name when I asked. I've been a loyal HomeGoods customer for years and even have their credit card, but because of this interaction I will not return to this location. read more

This store is nothing but a hoarder's paradise. The store is crammed full of stock, of assorted household items, kitchenware, bedding, non perishable food items, (candies, snacks) seasonal things, furnishings, etc. It's overwhelming to try to find specific items. I was looking for a jelly roll pan, and found an aisle display overloaded with pans, of all different sizes. I saw several that I liked, but the one I wanted was sandwiched between some glass ones. I finally managed to slowly pull it out, without breaking the glass pan that was wedged under it. You can find some nice things here, but to me, it's just sensory overload, overall. The workers were friendly, and a very nice woman helped me at checkouts. read more

Really Nice People work here my husband and I were getting thing for our entire bedroom here amd it was already closed and they let us peacefully finish shopping casue they saw how I was trying to hurry. Mice lady in the back asked manager if the shelf I wanted would be discounted since it was missing middle shelf and they took off $50. Manager ( lady) was so nice too I was thrilled about it and they brought it to the front. The selections are amazing but the staff makes it refreshing to shop here. Will be back for sure read more

We stopped here on a whim and I'm glad we did. I had never been inside a Home Goods Store, even though we have them back in Arizona. It really made me excited to go back home and find some neat items! They had tons of home goods - furniture, bedding, kitchen items, decorations - you name it. Lots of items were on clearance as well. I found a really nice rooster wind chime made of metal. (A souvenir that would survive the plan trip home!) It was on clearance for only $8. For the size and quality, that was a great deal! They had plenty of other rooster items, but none that would fit in my suitcase. This store was large and filled with interesting items. It reminded me of a Ross or TJ Maxx's, but no clothing. I'd definitely come back! read more

I shop here for everything from gluten free health foods ,gift wrap ,furnishings,gifts,towels,toys,etc! I LOVE the employees and management that make this chain feel boutique when it comes to service! It keeps me coming back week after week! I always check here first ...designer pieces...great prices and employing a wonderful staff of people! As Home Goods stores go (and if you're not familiar with Home Goods, you absolutely must become acquainted), this one is alright. It loses a few points because don't think the selection is as large as the location in Bloomingdale, nor do I find the layout to be particularly easy to navigate/organized. But when it comes to finding interesting home decor items as half the price, you would be hard pressed to find a better alternative. Home Goods carries everything from cookware to bed linens to lighting to furniture to rugs. Some pieces are no-name knock-offs that look like expensive department store items, such as the industrial floor lamp I recently purchased for $49.95 that looks strikingly similar to Pottery Barn's Cole Floor Lamp (at $199.00). Other pieces, such as Calphalon cookware, OXO storage containers, and Melissa and Doug kids toys, are simply surplus items that Home Goods picked up from big-name stores to sell at lower price points. In other words, this is a great place to stock up on home essentials and gifts without breaking the old piggy bank. For whatever reason, this Home Goods store separates a lot of its kitchen products so that half are on one side of the main aisle (with seasonal items) and half are on the other side of the main aisle (with glassware and pet supplies). I find that split to be a bit annoying, as I often think the store is out of an item only to find it hiding on the other side. Unfortunately, this store is a bit on the small side, which is likely why it contains fewer home items than its sister location in Bloomingdale (which shares space with TJ Maxx, as both are owned by the same company). It's not missing anything in particular - it just has less of each item to offer. read more

Employees at this location notify friends of Rae Dunn deliveries before they arrive and hold them in the back. While I do not resell Rae Dunn items I also do not care what someone does with them once they are purchased. If that person happens to be in the right place at the right time then all power to them. Do whatever you want with your purchase. What I do think is shady are ignorant employees giving advance notice to friends. It's not fair and I know this location has lost customers because of it. Poor behavior. read more

I found a pair of twin size sheets that I wanted for my daughter but they were missing the price tag. When I went to the counter the gentleman asked for the manager to find the price. He came back with a larger size of the same sheets and told him to charge me the same price. When I questioned it and pointed out that there was a significant amount of more material in the larger size, he said that brand was sold for the same price as the Full size and proceeded to say "Do you want them or not--or can you not afford them? I bought them as I wanted them, but felt sick about it. I've worked as a manager in my younger years at fine department stores that sold sheets and never would have spoken to a customer that way. I would have expected that he'd call another store to verify the price or take a few dollars off. I later went to another Home Goods store that had plenty of the exact same sheets that were labeled with a price--and as I expected, were less than the Full size. So not only was he rude, but he lied. I checked other department stores and could not find one store that charged the same price for the twin size as the full size. read more

Store is so crammed full of items that the childrens' section literally just has stuff piled on the floor. The past few times I've gone in there it's been that way. Very few shower curtains yet tons of bath rugs. It's like the inventory is unbalanced. Very cute things though. Not the store's fault but customers are usually rude- a bunch of middle-aged or older women with no manners, which is one of the only reasons I don't love shopping here. read more

On a recent visit to this location I spotted a mirror that I had to have. Not that I needed more mirrors in my house but the mirror was beautiful so I decided it was coming home with me. Well upon leaving the store I decided to leave the mirror although it was on clearance for $119. down from $229. After thinking about it over night I decided to give the store a call and have them put it on hold for me. To my pleasant surprise I was informed that the mirror had gone down to $69. over night. Immediately after work I went to purchase the mirror but it was too large to fit into my Elantra. My bf had Alex put the mirror on hold because I was then disgusted. After researching via Internet I was able to locate the mirror to compare prices. The mirror costed between $279.-$1,059. However, I didn't have the mirror home yet, so I didn't know the brand or model number. Once I was able to get the mirror home I continued my search with model number and brand in hand the lowest cost of my mirror was $699. This was enough evidence as for savings for me to continue being a loyal customer of Home Goods. read more
