Hobbs Grove during Halloween is a tradition for my family and me. It's an experience we absolutely love, the leaves on the ground, the crisp cold air, the food and drinks, everything is so nostalgic. I highly recommend getting the fast pass so you don't have to wait in line; in my opinion, it's totally worth it. The merchandise is good, but I'd love to see more graphic tees and some unique items from local sellers, especially Halloween-themed, to make it feel extra special. The place is really clean overall, though the porta-potties can get pretty messy, my advice is to use them before you go if you can. Can't wait to go back, I absolutely love this place! read more

It's kind of the same interface, but let me tell you... The Haunted hayride that they offer is SO FUN and truly unmatched. Great hay ride, it was long, and had various stops with people jumping out or a story line that was different from the previous, pretty cool. Good food vendors, nice merch shops and bar. The tarot card reader and other glow in the dark tattoos, that was cool for the littles. We have always loved Hobbs Grove. Although we have been through everything, the hayride is my favorite. We started going back when it was old school. There was real grass, real dirt, real mud. My job used to get tickets for us to go every Halloween. It was so fun. its best to go out the last two weeks and later in the evening when it gets colder and sit around the firepits. It's even better after a rain when it gets misty and a little foggy, an icy chill hangs in the late night air and it really gets spooky! read more

I have always told my friends the best time to go to Hobbs grove is Halloween NIGHT! Minimal kids are there because they're all out searching for candy, Which makes this the perfect haunt for adults 21 and UP! We bought the pass that includes the haunted house and Forrest which was very fun! Although very expensive I'm sad I missed the haunted hay ride (my personal favorite) Everyone was spooked but I try my best to make myself laugh in scary situations. All the scare actors were great and painted to the nines! This year I got to experience the hidden speakeasy which beautifully decorated for adults and the bartender was hilarious. First the notsogood: We knew it was a Saturday and it was going to be busy, so I don't get the people who complain about the lines. The Hayride line went really fast. But the Grange (House and Forest). It sucks to catch up to the group in front of you and get caught from behind, so the actors are stuck with a bunch of people in their area. We got stuck in the last few rooms of the house waiting to get out. The woman who let us in was just waiting like 10 seconds and sent in the next group, even if there were like 8 people in that group. Then she sent in a quicker group. At least in the forest they tell you it's okay to pass the slower group. I would rather stand in line longer so we could have more separation in the house. What's another 20 minutes on a busy weekend if the inside scare is going to be better? NOW THE GREAT: The actors are so good!! We come pretty much every year, and sometimes the path doesn't change but the scenes do and the actors do, and it was both scary and entertaining. Loved the Hayride for entertainment. The speakeasy's are really cool. The 'Blind Tiger' and the 'Wake.' If you go to the wake they have special drinks for Halloween. A bit expensive but that's just how it is. We loved the bloody drink and the pumpkin drink, so try those. The Blind Tiger is the BEST. Jake the bartender is sassy and funny and always in a mood (as his character) so we love him. I do wish the drinks were a little bit heavier of a pour for the money ($15 for even a vodka red bull). Then you meet the owner of the Blind Tiger, some mafia type in old school suit and he is hilarious. He made fun of the people in our group and we watched him move around other groups. They were also laughing (one guy started crying with laughter) so much and we never heard the owner repeat any jokes. He should have a Netflix speacial. The food is always good in the center area, the ice cream and cookies are especially great. What we really appreciated was the security. They're everywhere but kind of behind the scenes, but they quickly talked to a group in line that needed some gentle reminders how to act in public. Hobbs Grove located in Sanger. It's a 10 min drive from Sanger. Thursday night Haunted House combined haunted Forrest. And Haunted Hay ride. It was $109 for two adults. It was a purple night which means less expensive. It is scary attractions and worth it. We had fun we came at opening at 7. We were able to purchase at the door. They do sell out. It took about 1 1/2 hrs to do all three attractions. They do sell a fast track pass for approx $20 more. Each ticket. There is food trucks and a few camp fires. And benches and table to hang out. May use website to purchase tickets. Lots of fun but expect large crowd. read more

The monsters and scare actors are very detailed and very scary!! I enjoy being scared so if you are like me definitely try Hobb's Grove. The midway is free to enter and listen to good music and enjoy fair style foods. Pictures, wearable swag and pumpkins are all available for guests. We love going to Hobb's Grove every October. It's pretty much turned into a tradition. They have a haunted hayride which is not as scary. They also have a haunted house/forest which is a bit scarier. Be sure to wear some comfortable shoes because the forest can have some uneven terrain. Oh and there is a nice little surprise at the end. If you aren't into getting scared you can just go in and hang out in the area right outside the attractions. They have food trucks, a little pumpkin patch, a bar, a dj playing music, a fire pit, and some fun characters walking around who are dressed up. The haunting starts when it gets dark, so I recommend you get there then as the lines for the attractions can get long! Oh and also I should note, they only have porta-potty's. read more

There were several things different to the previous years that I wish I'd known going into it. There are three bars instead of one as advertised, the woman behind us in line was so intoxicated she was throwing up on herself in line. I had also seen some people attempting to take pictures and inappropriately touch some of the actors. the actors do a great job but with the new bars attracting not so great people, this would not be a place I would go with my family in the future. read more

This is hands down the best Haunt in all of California. I've been to Halloween Horror Nights, Knots Scary Farm, Pirates of Emerson, and so many more, but Hobbs Grove blows them away. The haunted Hay ride is incredible and so interactive. The haunted house gives you multiple options on the paths you can take, one wrong turn, and you will find some of the best scares anywhere. I had to think about how I would review Hobb's Grove because there was some thinks I liked but what I disliked outweighed the good. Here we go... Hobb's Grove is festive, entertaining, and something to do for mostly the whole family, but that's also a con because the crowds build up very quickly especially with strollers and the bulldozer size they've now become. Seriously, if you're going to a gory place, leave the children at home. No need to bring newborns and toddlers to a place meant for the older crowds. The crowds are over and I mean overwhelming which makes the lines extremely long. The attractions list that they open at 6 but really they open whoever the heck they feel like it. We got there at 6:30 and waited in the Hayride line for almost an hour. People were restless, irritable and discontent while waiting in a continuously growing line. Once the ride opened up we waited another 15-20 minutes. The ride itself was the only reason I gave it 3 stars or else it would've been 1 star. After we finished the hayride, 3 of us got in line for the Forrest and what seemed like a very short line on the outside, turned into a horrendous hour long wait on the inside. This is where my smile turned into a frown; the attraction was maybe 5 minutes long and the people in front of us killed it because they went too slow and we ended up seeing the characters scare them. Now for the biggest disappointment. After waiting in two long lines we were burnt out on waiting (obviously) so even though we bought the combo wristbands, we did t get to enter the Haunted House. That was a bummer that made me bitter until the next day. Haha Anyway the snacks and drinks are good. The restrooms are portable without lights so take a flashlight or use your phone to light up your path. Probably wouldn't make another trip out here. read more

I love Hobbs Grove so much! I look forward to it every Halloween season and make sure I come visit. I had a problem on my 2nd visit this season and we missed the Haunted Hayride due to being in the Speakeasy and not hearing the last call for the ride. Eventually, I talked to the person that helped and they comped us hayride tickets and fast passes for our next visit. We came back and did the haunted hayride on Friday the 13th which was a lot of fun. The Midway is nice to hang out near the fire pits or get your tarot cards read and check out The Curiosity Shoppe. They do carry a lot of unique items in the gift shop and it's worth checking out if you like oddities, gothic clothing, and Halloween mask. Don't forget the lil pumpkin patch shop! I highly recommend making the trip out to Hobbs Grove! read more

Heard about Hobb's Grove for Halloween ... decided to go here with the significant other on a Saturday night. The system is pretty easy park your car, go through security and have ur ticket ready to be scanned on ur mobile device for whatever attraction you paid to go to. The haunted house was awesome... long , indoor and outdoor ... the actors/ actresses were very good and some were even pretty funny. They played their parts very well. The outdoor part was great; the darkness added the extra element of creepiness that took the vibe up to another level. The hayride was cool too... the driver was hilarious ... cracking jokes ... keeping it very entertaining. All the staff was friendly and seemed like they loved working here. In the middle of the attractions on the main grounds... food vendors available. Loved the lights on the tree ... pretty cool. There's a little pumpkin patch we're you can take photos yourself or have them professionally taken for $10. Fun Halloween event! read more

I came here opening night. I didn't realize it was the first night, but it is listed as one of the less busy nights. As it gets closer to Halloween, they actually advise coming on different weekends because of the large crowds. I used to come here as a child and remember loving it. This was my first time back as an adult and while it's not great, it's good for what it is. I haven't been to Knotts Scary Farm or Halloween Horror Nights, but I have been to the now demolished Wolfe Manor in Clovis and other small scale scary attractions. Hobb's Grove is the best place in the area. Hobb's Grove now has 4 attractions: Haunted Forest, House, Hayride and the new Portal laser tag. My group and I got the red pass which includes the forest, hayride and house for $33. We also got free Hobb's Grove t-shirts. I didn't even know we got free t-shirts because the woman at the ticket office didn't tell me, but she told everyone else in my group so I knew to grab one. Not sure if it was an opening night special or what. The prices go up as it gets closer to Halloween and I'm glad I didn't have to pay the higher prices because I don't know that it's worth it if I'm being completely honest. You can buy single passes to any of the attractions (Portal is limited availabilty), but getting a combo is a better value. If you get the Portal combo, you get a fast pass to one of the other attractions. My group and I arrived sometime before 8. Inside the main area you'll find a few vendors, food stands and a small pumpkin patch.They also play completely random music. I heard everything from Ozzy Osbourne to Macarena to Paramore to the Cha Cha Slide. It would be nice if they played Halloween themed music. "Characters" walk around interact with you while you wait in lines which is nice I suppose. We decided to do the Hayride first and probably for the best since it has the longest line. I also think they had some issues because they weren't loading for a while so we waited at least an hour in line. The back of the hayride is the best spot if you're looking for more scares and interaction. Characters will chase the back and even climb onto the ride. A few of my friends even got touched by the characters. Like creepily touching a ponytail to backhand face caressing. The hayride has the best overall pacing because the ride is controlled vs the house or forest which is dependent on personal speed. The workers do give space between each group, but some people speed through or go slow so the set up scares aren't reset or get ruined. The haunted house had some cool 3D effects in the beginning, but wasn't that scary. My favorite of the 3 would probably be the hayride because you can sit back and look at everything. Second would be the forest with the house last. I didn't get that scared because this place is all jump scares. Every time you go into a new room/ section you already know someone is gonna jump out. If you're in a group, the middle is the safe spot to be in because you're not first for the jump scare and not last when they follow you. There were some funny moments though like when the characters will tell you or point you in the right direction if you're going the wrong way. All in all it was a good time, but the long waits and borderline justifiable prices kinda negate that. We didn't get done until after 10:30. Lastly, as soon as we walked in I found myself questioning the costumes/ characters. They're all random. I don't know how it all works here so maybe they get to wear whatever they want? I don't even know what some of the costumes were if I'm being honest. A guy dressed as Alice Cooper, a woman with an atom bomb on her head so she was Atomic Betty(?), a woman dressed as a geriatric with a walker, etc. I guess my gripe here is that there's no cohesiveness. Not sure if it's fair for me to rate this... as We came during the day with Citi kids program and it was such a fun experience! Lots of cute activities. My little one was completely overwhelmed haha but I enjoyed it. It was done really well with the pumpkin patch, corn maze, fairy home slash Alice in wonderland, corn sand box thing which was a favorite of ours, and hay ride. I do wish they had benches on their hay ride wagon on the sides but they prob don't have them for safety reasons. So we criss crossed apple sauced. I'm guessing at night the whole place turns haunted and the food stuff opens up and we won't be back for that because I don't do haunted but I'm glad we had a chance to go to their day event. Saw a lot of school buses too so this is an obviously popular field trip spot. read more

I just went to Hobb's Grove for the first time and left feeling quite impressed! I'm sure they must have spent a nice chunk of change for this yearly production. For a guaranteed good time, DO: - arrive before they open. We came around 5:45pm, snagged a good parking spot, and stood in a line of about 40 people to purchase tickets until gates open at 6pm. This gives you ample time to enjoy something eat and hang out with friends before waiting in more lines for the attractions (4 total). Attractions open when the sun goes down! - comfortable shoes if you plan to go into the Forest. - a light jacket or sweater because it might get chilly at night. - cash for food just in case some vendors don't accept card. - an open mind and a good attitude! Expect lines, and more lines. Go with friends and it will make time go fast. There's actors walking around in costumes that do a decent job of entertaining you. We went to the Haunted Forest & Hayride and that was all my endurance could handle lol. If you were not to purchase the value pass, those are the two I would recommend based on input from others. First of all tickets are $35 -$40 for 3 attractions. The attractions are about 5 mins long and totally fun BUT personally I'm not coming back next year.. you shouldn't either.. The wait time in line is, no joke about an hour. I did enjoy the small pumpkin patch, I did get some cute insta pics but again, tickets for 2 totaled almost $90 ! Went on opening night. This year tickets were in reserved time slots as only available online due to Covid. Good precautions. This worked great! Not very crowded when we arrived. Lots precautions for Covid. Could tell they gave it a lot of thought. Very wide line cue to get in making social distancing very easy. Torches on the path inside provide ambient lighting but also serve as social markers. Line for attraction was not overly long like in years past. Kinda wish they were so reserved times every year. Good spacing between groups in haunted forest. We did not see anyone but the characters. Could use a few more characters though. They made the forest much longer to make up for only having one attraction. Overall a good time was had by all. read more

If you're worried about COVID-19, this is not the place for you. If you're wanting a good Halloween experience; meh, it's alright. The line for the attraction was abysmally long; about an hour and a half. This wouldn't normally bother me much, but while in line I was thinking "there's no social distancing going on here," which completely eliminates the reasoning behind canceling the other attractions (hay ride, etc.) If you're going to have people stand in line with no social distancing for well over an hour, what's the logic of not allowing people sit near each other (where you could probably enforce social distancing much easier)? The attraction itself was well done; you can tell they put a lot of effort into the environment. It was about 15-20 min total, so definitely a good amount to see. It could have just been the groups around us, but everyone was just becoming bunched up while on the trail, which ruins the experience; you can't be scared/thrilled by things you can see coming as a result of being able to see up to 3 groups ahead of you. Overall, the wait overweighed the experience of the attraction, which is unfortunate. $10-15 would've been reasonable for the experience, but I can not justify spending $20+ to stand in a line for 80% of my time there. read more

Best Halloween Haunt in Fresno! We went last weekend and the lines flew by on a Friday night! We had so much fun & the workers were so good I thought some of them were animatronics lol 10/10! The Hay ride was sooo fun!! lots of fun surprises and scares! Skip Raisin hell ranch and go to Hobbs Grove! I would like to shout out Blanca and Clem! Thank you for your great customer service! This place can get crowded lines can get long but they offer a fast pass which is well worth the money. it's very nicely setup with some fire pits, food trucks and lights strung throughout the trees. Been here couple times years ago it Never gets old. The actors and props are really good the actors didn't show much mercy to my 8 yr old son who had no idea what he was walking into, he came out out with tears but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way to be honest. It's the Disneyland of haunts as far as quality. But it's seemingly a low budget transformation. You drive way into the middle of nowhere and park in a dark lot. There's no grand archway entrance. Just the overall scary environment. They never copy movie stuff. You'll see no Freddy Kruger here. The line waits are super long on busy nights but they have characters working the lines. The actors never come out of character so you're transformed into another place. Not all line characters are scary - a few are hilarious! The midway area has good food (taco truck, fair food, smoothies, etc) and there's a gift shop. Tickets are pricey and change based on the night so check the website. TIP: Buy your tickets online to allow you to skip the main ticket purchase line. Note: Security is everywhere which is encouraging and they won't let in drunks, gang dudes, druggies, etc. There are metal detectors to go through so they take security seriously. The security peeps are all really nice and informative but they're big and obviously ready to make sure the place stays 'family friendly.' Like amusement parks they have photos where they photoshop you into different environments and can add monsters or characters into the shot. Overall best haunt on the west coast for sure. read more

Me and a friend had bought tickets for an 11pm slot. We arrived, no parking attendants or signs to help us, it was just a field without any lights to help anyone see. So we got into line, it was a huge snaked line that went from the front of the attraction to the other side. It was 12:30am and we were still in line! The security gaurd said it would at least be 15 more minutes and the attraction was 25 minutes long. So we decided to leave. Plus there were no COVID guidelines. There were maybe a handful of people wearing masks. The company is refusing to refund me. I will not be going back next year! read more

Freaky, fun and food was carnival good. I am 28 years old and I have to admit I never been to one of these, "haunted" houses places before other than my Mother-in-Law's house but it was very pleasant. When I first got there it was in the middle of nowhere, "bad place for your car to take a dump", so that added a more mysterious, eerie setting. Food was on point, had a little bit of everything. All the carnival eatery that has to offer was there, Tri-Tip was good and the Tacos were delicious. I got the Forest attraction, had to admit some of the actors got me pretty good, didn't expect some to appear from the top or boxes. Some did fail to scare and in need of classes to get more better but overall I had fun. My fiancee was holding me tight and managed to stretched out the neck part of my shirt, so she had fun and that's all that matters. I only got one ticket for one attraction which to me was a mistake and should of got more but the season is not over yet, so best believe I will be back. I rate this place 4.0 read more

Absolutely terrifying!!! I was so glad that The Haunt is back this year, I went twice. Love the Haunted Forest and the Hay ride is so much better than it has been before. As usual the house though is more gross than anything, not really scary. The place always is buzzing with people. For some Halloween fun, this place is great. The only thing is it's a bit expensive and the lines are terrible. They now offer fast passes for an extra $10 a attraction though. But the courtyard area has ghouls walking around, whom you can talk and interact with. Plenty of food choices, live music, a fortune teller and nice ambient lighting. My boyfriend and I attended hobbs grove yesterday and I will warn if you are very cautious of covid this is not the place for you! I thought considering that there were 30 minute time slots and only one attraction, that they would be very cautious of covid however masks are optional therefore almost everyone in there was not wearing masks including the staff, so much so that my boyfriend and I felt out of place for wearing ours. Also the line for the attraction was still very long and they didn't have us social distancing so we were all packed together in the line like previous years. It seems kind of unnecessary to not have the other attractions if they don't seem to care about covid anyway. I will say the attraction itself was very well put together however not worth the 21 dollars each. read more

Hobbs effort is commendable. They really go all out and deliver an riveting experience all on fronts with one glaring exception: line pacing. They don't allow enough time between groups. I've went several times over the years and they've never figured this out. It's their only flaw but is very disappointing. They deliver such a top notch haunt experience in every other way it's disappointing they can't see this. What happens is that they let the group after you in too quickly after they let you in. If you don't want the group behind you to catch up to you, you have to move at a fast enough pace that you catch up to the group in front of you. And the experience losses all of the magic when instead of being in your 4 person group, getting jumped scared around every corner, you catch up to a large group in front of you or if you don't speed up, allow the group behind you to catch you. Now you're in a merged 2-3 groups into a massive group, such that you can see everything coming up, because you're the 9th person in a line of 17 people (2-3 merged groups) and you can no longer immerse yourself in the experience. Everything you can see coming a mile off since you're in the middle of a massive group. It loses all of the fun and fright because you now see everyone coming and it's noisy with such a loud group. It completely ruins the experience. I'm thinking they either need cameras that the gate attendant can look at to see if pacing is not working, or to wait longer between group. Maybe wait another 30 seconds between groups. I know the counter argument is that they can't wait very long because an impatient long line will build and upset people by having to wait in line so long. But that's like going to a nice restaurant and the waiter rushing you to seat people who are upset they're waiting for a table. Hobbs please look at this!! read more

They had shorter lines than usual since we had time slots on our tickets. I wish they did this every year since previous wait times were ridiculous. I wish it was a bit longer for the price but overall the characters and acting were great. I can't wait to come next year. read more
