Love this place so much! Stefi was so amazing, friendly and funny! Made our breakfast today 10000 x better! Come have some yummy food!

Wanted to have a diner style breakfast and this place was recommended by staff members at our hotel. What a great recommendation. I really enjoyed my breakfast. I had two buttermilk pancakes which were really fluffy and lite along with two pieces of bacon. It was really good and the service was great.

Hobnob Hill -- San Diego -- 3 stars Truly a gem -- easy to find, though parking can be a bit of a hunt. The food is superb: thoughtful flavors, well-balanced plates that show a distinguished palate without pretension. The atmosphere is uniquely warm and inviting, adding to the charm. Service was on point -- attentive and polished -- even though it was just the two of us at the time. Classic spot with real staying power in San Diego; love that you can still order an honest Old Fashioned here. A cool find that delivers both comfort and culinary finesse. -- Captain 619

Yummy place for a Sunday breakfast! We walked in and we were welcomed in and sat down so quickly! Our server was very kind and gave great suggestions! I'm so glad I was able to try the Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich, it was delicious and very filling! The update was a cool mix of an old school restaurant and a diner! I can't wait to come back for their jazz nights!

Been a regular here for years so we were a bit weary of the new ownership. However, a year in and the ownership has earned our trust. The food is really good and though there are things we miss, we keep coming back. Especially for Carlos the bartender. Attentive, friendly, fun, and funny. And, he knows how to make a drink or 3!

Hob Nob Hill in San Diego was a bit of a mixed experience for us, mainly because we came for one specific thing and just barely missed it. My girlfriend was craving breakfast in the middle of the afternoon and we came here thinking it was all day breakfast. Unfortunately the day we went they cut breakfast off at 3 and we arrived right after so we missed it. We ended up grabbing a quick cocktail for the road and then had to settle for Denny's to satisfy the breakfast craving, which was disappointing because we were really looking forward to trying this spot. That said the place itself made a good first impression. Inside was well decorated, clean, and had a nice classic feel. The short interaction we had with the servers was good too. Friendly and helpful, and they let us know that starting next month they'll have a stable menu with all day breakfast included so this mix up shouldn't happen again. The drinks we had were solid but since we didn't actually get to try the food, I'm giving it 3 stars for now. I'm definitely open to coming back when all day breakfast is back so I can give it a proper try.

This review is reflective of my last visit prior to the current views under new ownership. I'm catching up on reviews that include photos from my photo roll. I've been here several times -- a few times with friends, and one time to bring my parents who were visiting from out of town. The first two visits with friends, I had the same omelette with cottage cheese, and I wasn't disappointment with the dish at all. It came with toast, but I passed since I'm on keto. The other time I came with my parents. They absolutely enjoyed the experience with their dishes. My dad had a pastrami sandwich with fries, and my mom tried the quiche. I'm curious as to how the service and quality are now based on the most recent reviews, so I'm looking forward to that update after I visit again!

Sunday breakfast after church. We have been here a few times. We waited a few minutes to be seated. I ordered hot chocolate, it was good. I got the meat scramble with hashbrowns. The scramble wasn't good. It was a blob of eggs and meat. It was burnt at the bottom not even scrambled. I picked at the meat.

Delightful experience, these wonderful folks are so friendly. Parking is okay at best. Easy on the wallet and huge menu. Counter seating available.

The new Hob Nob Hill under new ownership has been open a month or so. This was my second visit, and I was still disappointed. The manager promised to up the game in the kitchen after I returned the world's tiniest quiche on my last visit. So I ordered quiche again, and they first said they have made changes to the quiche plate. But then they said, "but we don't have any today". Ok.... So I got a Mediterranean salad. I was told it was very popular. It came out with soggy cucumbers on it. They looked like they had been frozen at some point. Once those cucumbers were replaced with fresh cucumbers, it was very good! Overall, I'm still very disappointed in this new Hob Nob- they still have a lot of work to do!

The service was good. This is a San Diego classic. Street parking. They ran out of Corn Beef Hash. The Prime rib omelette was good. Large excellent breakfast potatoes. The build your own omelette also was big. Good coffee. Very solid

I knew it was a speakeasy but he did not. I was trying to double-check on my phone that Craft & Commerce was the right restaurant its housed in (yes) when he tried to jet set off down the block "to keep looking" rather than listen to me. I yelled, "MOTHER!" by accident and then he did truly leave me hahaha. He resurfaced a few minutes later, and then we walked in. It was 5:15 at the time, so 15 minutes after opening. I had NO IDEA how popular this spot was, nor anything about its nation-wide reputation. I actually didn't know that until two days ago when a Yelp-friend at home here in Richmond, Virginia, exclaimed excitedly when I told her we stopped in. The host who greeted us was kind, informed us there had been a line to get in that day, but that they had one barrel left; we jumped on it of course. It was happy hour, so the first cocktail I ordered was dirt cheap at $9. It was the Imperial Hawaiian with gin, rum, lemon, pineapple, and orgeat. I really shouldn't have ordered a second drink after that one, but I did have the classic Saturn later on in the night and it was absurdly good! Definitely my favorite of the two. The moody tiki vibe was so cool and fun. They even had frogs you could play on the tables. We had some fun neighbors too, which livened up the experience even more. We had a great time and both walked out heavily buzzed. We were asleep by 8 that night, but it was worth it!

Once inside seating is first come first served so the place is insanely crowded with people trying to get drinks. Service is a little confusing as the waiters will come up to you with a menu asking for your order instead of an order at the bar type of thing. Once we actually got a seat things were okay. The menu is mostly rum drinks since this is a rum bar however since I'm not the biggest fan I ordered the only thing with tequila on the menu. My drink was actually really good, it was refreshing, not too sweet or strong at all. I just wish there would be more variety.
