Not the food quality I will expect for a diamond member

Definitely not the food quality and service i would expect. Burnt and not even a full order .What happened Barona? Soooooo damn disappointed!

This is place is yummy! The staffs though in the front look so tired and lacking customer service. It's probably because they are busy and wanted to catch-up with work. Located at Barona. Plenty food to choose from and good amount of servings. It's a must try. 1-18-2024

How the mighty fall. Been going for 15 years, and wow this isn't the same "better than it should be" casino restaurant anymore. It's essentially cafeteria food now. They raised and standardized prices across the board whilst simultaneously lowering the quality and standards. It's a shame really.

One of the best place for roasted duck in town, I've been trying the dish at so many restaurants in San Diego, I still have to come here for the crispy juicy less fattening duck meat at Ho Wan 好運 meaning Good Luck. The place exists since my first time at the casino dated back in 2010. Although it's Chinese Canton restaurant they do serve other Asian dishes such as Vietnamese Pho, Singapore noodles, Filipino pancit and more, you can try them all since they open 24/7, so yes come here eat first then play or vice verca, I would say get your stomach full first, your call, Barona got you :)

My mother raves about this place. So, we Decided to try them out. I was pretty disappointed. I ordered Fried Spring rolls ( you get TWO ) for $6.88, Korean BBQ for $18 it was overly sauced with thick thick sauce & Cantonese beef fried rice for $16. All had bland flavor. For the price at a food court I thought for you it would taste out of this world amazing. Nope. Room service next time!

I got food poisoning from this noodle shop . Yesterday me and two friends came to Barona Casino. And me and my first friend ordered from Ho Wan Noodle Shop, and second friend ordered food from another place . I ordered Vietnamese Pho with sliced beef and friend ordered chicken noodle soup . And two of us woke up today beaten , feeling fever . After 6 hours I started sweating , I got some medicine and tea . And it kinda helped , but now I'm feeling headache , weakness of the body, started gagging and when I'm getting out of bed my head is dizzy . My friend started to sweating one hour ago and got temperature . Second friend , who didn't eat at that place , feeling yourself good . And three of us was spending yesterday's time together whole time , just in that time we changed our minds about place to eat . I hope we will feel better tomorrow . But definitely I do not recommend this place for eating .

I won a voucher to use at the food court at Barona Casino, so we finally came here a couple nights ago after playing the slots. Ho wan is connected with the Banh Mi shop and seemed like the best option out of the bunch. It was a Monday, so their special that night was Mongolian beef. I ordered that, Thai iced tea with boba, and a Vietnamese coffee for him. They handed me a buzzer and we collected our very little winnings while we waited for our order to be ready. There were more onions than beef in our entree, and this dish was wasn't as flavorful as I'd like. Our food came with some hot and sour, which was pretty good. As for the drinks, mine was a little too sweet, but huge! He did say the coffee was strong, but would have liked a little more condensed milk in it. Overall, just an okay place to grab some food if you're not feeling the buffet.

Menu - Prices definitely higher than pre-COVID ...

Overall, food is not bad ... But over the last few months, we've noticed quality of some things has gone down ... including the Lumpia and it's not a fluke - same burnt minis for the last 3 months. (Before the minis, they were shrunken to finger skinny ones ...) The To-Go Orders seriously are an issue - Obviously people are take over-advantage of the free daily food offer Maybe Barona should set up the old buffet area for take-out! Like a fast-food take-out! For those of us who are there to have fun, waiting for orders to get fulfilled and then seeing bags and bags walk out the door ‍ - We want to eat a bite and play, not wait 20 minutes in line, then another 20 to get the actual food!

09/19/2021 2:50pm , we ordered food the lady that gives food at the pickup took the pager to claim the food and the order is not completed , and the lady handed me the 2 bags and go out took the other bag and say I'm not supposed to take the food , how is it my fault she handed me the bags and she is very rude and they called the assistant manager CHRISTINE she didn't do anything they didn't say sorry for what they did, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! The lady put her ID backward so I don't see her name, I don't think you're allowed to do that working in the casino. We are a GOLD Membership here we will cancel all the membership here and would not come back here again..

When at Barona Casino, we went to the food court. The Korean ribs were tasty and plentiful. Good Service.

Ho Wan mean good luck. I understand I'm in a casino but saying good luck at a restaurant has me leary. I mean its like just before eating blowfish and the chief smiles and gives you a wink. I haven't been here in over a year and the place expanded beautifully. Well actually the whole food court has expanded. The food is still cheap, abundant, and tasty. Same standard routine just walk up to the counter and order. There's a couple of binders that display a picture of each dish and price. The funny thing is thats it, they don't describe the dish. Let me help you. Whatever you get is delicious period. All the dishes are catered to the Asian palate. Along with the Chinese, there's Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese, and hamburgers. JK, on the hamburgers I wanted to see if you are paying attention. I got the BBQ short spare ribs. My fellow Hawaiian residents refer this as kalbi. It's ok not as good as back home. They use too much sugar so it leaves a darker appearance and slightly more crunchy taste then I like. But don't get me wrong-I like. And I usually don't eat much rice but man they do it way right here. It's Jasmine, nice light and not sticky at all. FYI they don't serve sticky rice here. Overall four stars. Food and atmosphere great. Nice variety and portion. Minus a star due to hours and variety. An Asian dessert menu would do wonders for this place. Now excuse me, for some reason I feel lucky. Where's the dice? M

So, to start, my wife will occasionally get treated rather well at the restraunt; she was even given a few freebies while she was pregnant with our twins, so I usually thought rather well of this place, but every time I go, the treatment is different (maybe because I am not a tiny little Asian woman, who knows) but anyways, I go there tonight and I order roughly 120$ in food, and that's where things go south. First they charge me 1.50 for asking for my rice noodles without curry (my wife dislikes curry), which I am used to, but I think might offend them. From there, there is some confusion about my order. They almost forget one of my sides in the proccess, and forgot I ordered fried wontons, but again, that is NOT why I am leaving this review. I am leaving this review because of what happened in all this... So, to begin, I ordered off the menu because I wanted my food fresh, but still, they grabbed all our sides and two of my entrees right out of the to go bar; which would be fine EXCEPT the food on the menu is more expensive because it is FRESH, and not soggy or soft from sitting in a metal tray for like an hour and a half! The next thing that happens is while trying to find out about my wantons they: GO THROUGH MY FOOD. They literally touched all my fried items with ungloved hands while I am sitting there at the waiting table with them; trying to figure out their mistake like I was trying to steal food from them. The kicker being that they forgot to charge the wontons! So instead of being like: 'sorry about the inconvenience', they straight up go: 'oh hey, let us charge you for those after we touched all your food'. Needless to say, I was a bit aghast by all this, but what was worse than the service is the fact that the cook purposefully gave my wife bland unseasoned noodles because I asked for then with 'no curry' as if paying an extra 1.50 wasn't enough, they had to also be like: 'screw your taste buds for not liking our spices!' I mean, none of this was necessary, and it all felt pretty gross and rude by the end as I just took my food and left. All that said, my wife was pretty disappointed to hear about this and thinks we may need to find a new chinese place which really sucks. Yeah... but giving me old food, messing up my order, not preparing my food right (even after they charged extra for it), and touching my food makes me realize it's probably for the best. But hey, at least they remembered to charge me fried wontons, customer always comes last, you know?

I have been coming to hands country for 3 years and never experienced this or observed it. The staff does seem to speak limited English and I think patrons see take this as rude. You should give them a try. The prices are excellent considering McDonalds is comparable in price for less. The food is consistently good and I've been here 30+ times. Yes if you go to mira Mesa or san diego you can get more authentic Chinese cooking but for American style Chinese utvis good. The portions are on the larger size. They are almost never full but its because they have so much take out orders that the restaurant almost always has space. It's always clean. Last thing I will say is my wife is Chinese so I have tried everything San Diego has to offer, and spent weeks in China. This restaurant in my opinion is very good considering the food taste and portions, price, good service and ease of parking with no waiting. If you haven't tried them you should, if you have and didn't like, give them another try. Skip a fast food dinner and give them another shot, for about the same price. I recommend them.

Seems authentic based on walking in. Dad had sweet and sour chicken which he enjoyed. Vegetarian egg rolls were yummy. Mooshoo chicken delightfully messy and tasty. With respect to pad Thai, perhaps the Chinese version is meant to be different? Very spicy, heavy on noodles, had a lot of green peppers and very little chicken. No nuts. Not a huge fan of this style. But the moo shoo chicken made up for it.
