As a former medical school student, I am extremely familiar with the training and have known countless doctors via my education and as a patient (I am not licensed and do not practice medicine). I have Type One diabetes and Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, along with a metabolic disorder and multiple allergies: a lot to manage medically.
I have been a patient of Dr. Ho for 19 years now and he is the best and most caring, intelligent, thorough, kind, amazing doctor I have EVER met or had-- and that is saying a lot. I have had Type 1 diabetes since I was a child and he has helped me manage it to the point where amazingly I STILL have NO damage from Diabetes (and I have had it for over 30 years). I have also not been hospitalized for diabetes since seeing Dr. Ho. I have been hospitalized multiple times, and every time I have had the pure blessing of having Dr. Ho in charge of my care. I do not think I could have possibly survived all that I have in the past 20 years without Dr. Ho and I owe him my life-- more importantly, I owe him something much more valuable: my quality of life.
Although my medical history is very complex, including a metabolic disorder that affects everything- including medications, Dr. Ho was always very knowledgeable and managed everything perfectly. For example, I was in a severe accident and Dr. Ho literally SAVED MY LIFE by finding a way to help me manage the pain *(including the complexities of my metabolic disorder) until I could have major back surgery.
No matter what I have been through Dr. Ho has been steadfast in supporting me and helping me more than ANYONE by improving my quality of life tenfold. I went from being on disability to owning two successful companies and a home because Dr. Ho listened to me and he cared so much about my health; but more importantly (to me anyway) he valued my quality of life as much as I do. His sincerity and compassion are highly transparent and impossible to miss; Dr. Ho loves helping people and loves medicine, all of the hallmarks of a "dream" doctor in my opinion. Dr. Ho doesn't have or care about a fancy office or employ a team of people to sort out insurance issues- he just went online a few years ago! Dr. Ho doesn't even work in an area that is even convenient for me (I drive about an hour each way to see him), but I don't care about any of that. What I care about and why I will always see Dr. Ho is that he cares about my quality of life and HE LISTENS! I trust Dr. Ho with my life and my husband's life (he has also been seeing him for many years) and I have yet to meet a physician that is more kind, intelligent, understanding, and focused on patient care and the quality of his/her life than Dr. Ho. The trademark values that medicine is founded upon (selfless care of patients, improving their quality of life with humanity, and doing "no harm") are all values that are immensely present in Dr. Ho's character as a person and physician.
If you want a kind, compassionate, intelligent doctor-- Dr. Ho is beyond amazing; it would be impossible to say how much he supersedes the average doctor unless you've seen or worked with a lot of doctors like I have that care least of all about my quality of life. If you want a fancy office in a nice area and the physician is inaccessible (except in a month or 2 and only if you have the 'right' insurance at double the cost) and then spends a third of the time and does half as much--then don't go to Dr. Ho. If you want the most compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, experienced, patient doctor who REALLY cares about you and will listen to you for as long as necessary despite having a roomful of patients waiting-- then call Dr. Ho. read more
