He went in person to a pharmacy to make sure we got the medication- as it was out at our local CVS. He's saving my life, helping me loose weight, and it's a battle and it is a battle for our lives when we are obese. He really is the Best doctor!

He never asks her how she's doing and every time she attempts to say something to him, he puts his hand up and says wait a minute and she never gets her questions answered. A visit we had about a month ago, towards the end he said, "I think we're done" and I said "no we're not, there's something I would like to discuss with you." And yells and says, "yes we are done! I've been in here with you guys over an hour and I have other patients to see!" I could not believe my ears!!!! So he realized what he said and finally discussed the other issue. So I took my mother for a follow up visit yesterday and he yelled at her for taking 2 of the same meds that HE prescribed to her, which was causing her to throw up, due to HIS MISTAKE!! So basically he had been over medicating her!! Then he requested that she gets lab work done downstairs. Once we got down there, we looked through the stack of papers he handed us and the lab slip was not even in there!!! We had to go back up to the office, mind you my mother's in a wheelchair! By this time I'm in fumes! He's constantly yelling and cursing (which to me is very disrespectful to my elderly mother) at is laptop because he don't know what he's doing. When he walked in the room yesterday morning his rude a** didn't even speak, he takes personal phone calls during her visits with him and then step out the room as if we have all day to be in there. There's signs all over that says no cel phones, so I believe he should reciprocate the same respect. I am so over this man. I don't know what his problem is. It seems like something outside of his practice is consuming him and he has lost sight of his career or he is overwhelmed with patients because that place is ran pretty much like a free clinic. My mother has been seeing him every since they were on San Bruno Ave. She's been seeing him for over 30 years and she deserves far better treatment than that. Yesterday was her last visit with him. I will be finding her a new doctor. I don't recommend anyone seeing him.

I called to make an appointment and the receptionist made me feel like I was bothering her. She asked me what insurance I had, and I told her it was a PPO. She said I could go see any doctor I wanted, so why was I trying to make an appointment with Dr. Bonilla. I explained that I would like to have one principal doctor to manage my health. She then said that Dr. Bonilla had not been assigned to me, and repeated that I could go see any other doctor. I told her that I knew he had not been assigned to me, that I selected him and that the insurance's website says he is accepting new patients. She then grudgingly said the next appointment was in July. I said fine, I can wait until July. She then said that that my ID number and birth date did not match the insurance database. I explained that I have seen other doctors and received medical care and everything was fine with the name, ID numbers, and birthdate, and asked what next step can I take so that I am seen by the doctor. She kept fighting with me about this issue! That Dr. Bonilla was not assigned to me, that I can (should!) go to another doctor. She then put me on hold, and after several minutes a different person answered and told me that the doctor would not be taking new patients. So yeah. I had never been treated with such contempt by a receptionist and basically made me feel that they did not want me as a patient and that I should go somewhere else. Just a horrible experience.

11/05/2024: Very rude staff. I went today and had a great appt with Sophia Dinh, PA. Like most…read moredocs, she was patient enough. She listened to me & did a full intake & documented everything. The issue started after I received all the referral paperwork. Each and every referral had the wrong phone number listed, my husband's mobile phone number, which I only put down once as my emergency contact. Apparently, I should not have mentioned this. The first person I told seemed annoyed that I brought it up. She took down my current phone number (as listed in my paperwork, online in the MyChart app, in the prescreen call I had last week & also when I made the appt). Yet, they put down my husband's cell phone number on all the referrals. The annoyed person was one thing. She thought it was because I'm on my husband's insurance. She held up the paperwork & demanded if the name listed as the guarantor was his. (Guess she didn't know my name.) I said, no. That is MY name. As I was leaving, I spoke to a woman in blue at the front desk. She seemed to think I didn't understand I was the guarantor & forcefully explained that I am still the responsible party, so I am listed on the paperwork. I said yes. (That's why I was wondering why my husband's phone number was listed instead of mine) She was almost yelling as she spoke to me, as if I offended her in some way by wondering if it's a big deal to have the wrong number listed. She spoke loudly as if I didn't understand what a guarantor was or that I was one, the way you speak to an idiot. Even if you think I'm annoying or an idiot or think I ask dumb questions, or even if you don't like me, I'm STILL the customer. You have no right to treat me this way. And I was not rude to you even though I could have been irritated that YOU put the wrong phone number down. I don't know what I did to irritate them or put them in a bad mood. I felt awful as I left the place. I didn't even go next door to schedule a mammogram appt. I just went straight home. And I still don't know what I did for them to be so mean to me. And they don't care if they lose a customer because they will always get more patients. I'm sure they don't need me. They win. Update on 11/25/2024: It took a full 3 days to get my estrogen patch refilled. I called 3 times before getting a message through the MyChart app from Sophia Dinh. She had the audacity to say I should call if there is an urgent issue. In other words, don't go through the app. Again, this was after my third phone call. My estrogen & progesterone prescriptions kept showing delayed. The pharmacy kept telling me they were still waiting on the doctor's office to call them back. After the estrogen patch was finally refilled, they sent the Rx to the wrong location. This is after putting my specific pharmacy into the app, writing it in the paperwork and giving it to the PA directly in her office. Three different ways and still wrong. It took another few days to finally have the progesterone Rx filled. Guess what? It also went to the wrong location. So, I had to deal with that again. I am at a loss for what to do. I am supposed to get a mammogram, bone density exam & full bloodwork done and I really wanted to do it before the end of the year. I finally met my in-network deductible. (If I wait until 2025, I may have to pay a lot more.) So, I guess I will get everything done this year and have the results sent directly to me. Perhaps I can find a new doctor to discuss the results with me? Otherwise, I will return to this office with a companion. I do not want to go through this again, especially alone.

Met with Dr Jason Wertheimer once and it wasn't exactly the best experience. He seemed distracted…read moressn nervous most of the meeting. He is very young but I don't want to judge based on that, but he did seem a bit green and out of his element. I was happy to meet with him again but his office postponed by my appointment with him twice to like 4 months later. Very annoying and very unprofessional. I will be finding another doctor.
