I called last week to get an appt. was told Dr Lowe was out till mid-July. So i asked to get an appt with Dr Chin as she is notes as my primary care physician on the card. I was told I cannot make an appt with her as she is not my doctor and is not taking new patients. First i find it unethical that the medical profession would put that doctors name on my card - if I am never going to be able to see her. I was told someone would call me back that day to let me know what can be done. No-one from this facility called me back. However, when I went online and made an appt, they were able to call me back within 10-mins to tell me i can't make that appt. I filed a grievance with Medical regarding this Dr and facility. I finally got a call on the Thursday of that week from someone in the office, i called back friday morning and was told someone would call me back - no-one did (there's a surprise). Finally on the following Monday i speak to someone who refers me to the Rhode Island location that does not have residents and you can see a real doctor (that actually works - unlike those at 3801 Sacramento). Why they could not have done this the previous Monday is beyond me -i've had to be in pain for an additional week due to their sheer incompetence and unhelpful ness of this office. Avoid this Dr and location at all costs. Head to the Rhode Island location -where the staff are 100 times nice and the Doctors too!

Between my husband and myself, we have had a myriad set of very complicated health issues, and have worked with 20+ doctors throughout the Bay Area. In all that time, Dr. Carie is easily the most attentive, thoughtful and caring doctor I've had the pleasure to meet and rely upon. She never makes quick or unthoughtful recommendations, and seems to count upon me as partner in maintaining my health, not a lofty doctor on high supplying wisdom for me to accept without question. Granted the office support isn't always on top form, but they do in fact care, listen and try to improve when you bring issues to their attention. Also, I was surprised by one of the comments about the lack of notes. Each and every time I work with her (in person or online) I see careful, detailed records. In fact, before she lets me leave the office, she prints out the notes from that appointment and confirms I'm clear about next steps and makes sure all my questions are answered. Myself, I'm thankful to have her warm and supportive care, and know I can count on her for any issues big or small that require medical assistance. Just wish all doctors cared about the people they treat as much as Dr. Carie cares about her own patients. She's a true gem in an increasingly impersonal medical world.

Seriously. Every time I have any type of interaction with the office staff I feel grateful for their efficient, kind and professional follow-through. They are on the ball and happy to help. Recently i ran into a scare about my lungs which lead to a scare about my heart and they beautifully coordinated all the referrals I needed to see the right specialists and made sure test result after test result got to the next doctor i needed to see. Dr Lucas even made a point of calling me after hours to be sure i got the latest results and reviewed them with me to let me know my heart was working well - because she knew I was worried. Now that is genuine care. Thank you Doctor Lucas and your Great Team for always being there for your patients. You are the BEST. : )

She is easy going but very thorough…read more I find that I can go to her for a variety of broad and specific medical needs and she is very good at advising and referring to another doctor as needed. And her assistant is amazing, she goes out of her way to accommodate patients. There have been a few times when I've needed a quick turn around on appointments or sick notes from the doctor and they do so same day, not because they have time but because they make time. Big difference! I think much of the art of getting to know people, making them feel cared for and just having the human connection is lost in medical practice these days. But Dr. Y-S and her assistant do a great job with that part as well as the medical care part.
