He was on time and about the same price as a shop to complete the job, but the convenience of being at home and not waiting in a shop made him more appealing. While he had the wheels off we discussed installing the shocks and struts for my truck. There were full size struts in the front and shocks in the rear. I made an appointment 2 weeks later to install the struts and shocks. David came to my house but did not have a compression spring to install the struts. He said he was going to get some tools and come back. I said ok no problem. He never showed back up at my house. I had to work that afternoon and his assistant said they would come to my job and do them. They had to go pick up the compressor needed and would be at my job. 2 hours later they never showed up. I texted saying that Its safe to assume you are not coming back out tonight. The next day I got a text message apologizing for the mix up and they wanted to do the job. I said Ok Im at work but have money on me its not a problem. My truck is just sitting there. I told them exactly where I was located and they said they were there. I went outside and nobody was there. I texted and call several times but had no response. i finally get a response saying that we were there but you weren't so we left. If the job was too big for David to do I wish he would have been honest up front and said that he could not complete the job. If he didn't want to do the job he could have said that as well. Instead I felt like I was dragged around when I could have found someone else to do the job. So no I won't recommend him for anything other than a simple brake service, and even then I might shop around for a cheaper price.

It was recovered on Friday evening just before ER Transmission was closing. the battery was stolen, the catalytic converter was cut out and the ignition was destroyed. Honestly one of the nicest people at a shop I've met in the Bay Area especially Oakland. After finding the problem and suggesting a rebuild I decided to just get a new car rather then spend on a whole rebuild. He was not pressuring me or rude after declining the work and you don't see that often most people just want to get over and make their money. Drop my car off he breaks my wheel bearing then charges me for it . Comes up with crazy prices $950 for breaks and rotors and the wheel bearing he broke. I've have 10 Diff cars never have I paid that much for breaks and rotors . To me that's outrageous then he said $850 so you really are just making up prices . I begged him not to leave my car over night and to fix the wheel bearing and we will worry about breaks tomorrow. Nope so I had to leave my car in Richmond over night . The next day comes and hours go by I finally get my car he only ends up doing the back . He tells me my car is shaking bad bc of my bad tires . Well 2 days ago before I brought my car my car was driving smooth as a babies bottom. Literally no issues . Get it back and it's a lil bumpy but I get 5 min from my job and it's unbearable. Shaking so bad I had to pull over in an unsafe location on Hwy4 . I get out and my front driver side lug nuts are completely loose . He sends two men out 30+ min later (at this point my job calls me off) they get there and they tighten them but I can tell something was still wrong , I'm still in a unsafe location so I don't look. Then I get back on road and my engine light comes on. Mind you my car was in perfect condition before brining here . I called him and sent pics of my engine he refused to look at it after I told him I did not want to leave my car there overnight. So anyway then a day or 2 later it's back shaking bad, I get out and look and my whole front driver side lug nut is missing broke in half . So when I had the concern something was wrong when the two guys came to fix my tire I was right, they broke my lug nut and did not say anything to me about it. Then I called him and he was trying to give me the hardest time about it when he was the only person working on my car and he already stripped my first lug not on my back passenger tire . To say the least I'm glad he did the payment arrangement because I will never be going back and he will not be getting a full payment from me . I paid $200 and with the work I received and the amount of backlash I got for his shi* work . I think we are even . Plus I'm not paying $150 for a wheel bearing you broke. I just got that tire changed a week before this and they got the tire off perfectly fine . To say the least I had the WORST experience I've ever had at a car shop

For some reason, as soon as something was repaired, another ghost ailment to the truck revealed itself! I began to question this shop...a lot! I wondered if we were getting swindled for repairs or in actuality, is the life of an American car just the shits after some years? The money that was being poured into our truck was faaaaaaaar more than what the truck was worth (in my opinion). Now, here comes my Acura TL spitting out symptoms of repair needs badly soon after I made my very last payment on it! Sheesh!!! I gave in and drove my car into the shop. I asked for Lou and introduced myself as dudes wife. I can honestly say that I had NEVER taken my car in for any major work since I bought it. Lou said he would drive it around and give my husband a call....I was nervous as hell! I knew it was going to cost me some change $$$. $2,000 later I got my car back after one day and she is running like brand new! I know that is A LOT of change $$$ but we are talking wheel bearings on both sides, a timing belt, a water pump and then my major tune up!!! I assume those are all major components to ensure a safe drive in any vehicle. Moral of the story is, Lou and them dudes up in City Auto Tech shole is expensive but they definitely keep you running them streets like a champ! I will do my best to keep up the maintenance on my car, Moët from here on out to avoid taking out a line of credit to get her repaired but I will say that I am pleased with the work that Lou at City Auto Tech has done for her and all of the other cars that we have brought into them!
