I found HiveBoxx while looking for reuseable boxes for moving. We were planning a move from Greenwood to North Beacon Hill and wanted to start packing ASAP. I really didn't want to buy U-Haul boxes, spend time assembling them (and get super dry, cut up fingers/hands) and then disassemble them and get rid of them. It seemed like such a big waste of time and not the most environmentally friendly. I was willing to pay a little bit more to try and help the world. In comes HiveBoxx! I checked out their website, liked what I saw and saw that they serviced both the neighborhood I was in and the one I was moving to and sent in an order to rent boxes from them. Their service was flawless, the boxes came at the timeframe and date I requested, with the delivery driver giving me a call on the day of with an approximate time. The boxes came and he helped take them up to my condo and went on his way. I don't know what I expected the boxes to be like, but they were so durable and so heavy duty! I could pack a lot of things in there and it felt like my items were super safe and secure. It didn't seem like the box was in danger or collapsing or breaking at all and boy did put some heavy things in there. Unpacking and stacking the boxes was a breeze too. On the day of pickup (which you also choose), HiveBoxx saw that I had finished emptying all the boxes early and sent their driver over early (before the scheduled pick up time) to pick them up. What a win-win and great service! I'll definitely be using HiveBoxx for all future moves. These heavy duty totes required WAY less work than cardboard boxes, which need to be assembled and broken down. Seriously, there's already way too much work involved in moving. Literally the only downside to these boxes is that they still take up some space once they're empty. But your new dwelling will be chaos anyway! The rental window forced me to be proactive about unpacking, which was a real blessing. Once they come take the boxes away, I found that I was settled in much faster than I'd normally be. I was extremely happy with the whole service. The website was easy navigated. They were delivered right on time and the driver was nice. Unfortunately I had a sudden surgery during my move. HiveBoxx was extremely understanding when I needed to extend and extra week. These boxes making moving 1000% easier. You won't regret using these guys. My movers loved them and it made the move faster, also making bet t er use of space in the moving truck. The drop off and pickup service is so quick and easy, and then you just pack your stuff. Becuase of the strength of the boxes, you don't need as much packing material. My kitchen fit in 4 boxes and it was awesome. I've used these guys twice and now I'll never move without them. I just can't go back to packing tape and 50 misc boxes I don't need. I am so thankful for HiveBoxx! My real estate agent recommended their service when I was looking into renting used boxes, and I am so glad I took her recommendation. I requested boxes for a 2 bedroom; they provided both regular and large boxes, labels, zip ties to secure the contents of the boxes, and packing material for fragile items. The number of boxes I received was near perfect (I ended up buying four cardboard boxes, however, if I had been a better packer, I probably would not have needed these). While HiveBoxx will pick up your packed boxes and transport them to your new address, I had already scheduled movers and opted to just let the movers handle it; speaking of, even my movers were impressed with HiveBoxx and expressed appreciation for the ease of moving the crates over moving traditional cardboard boxes. Once my move was complete, I simply stacked the boxes and HiveBoxx came and picked them up. All of this, and the cost of the service was not much more than the cost of the used cardboard box services I looked at. And while my review is for my experience with HiveBoxx, my choice to use them had much to do with their mission of environmental advocacy. I will absolutely use HiveBoxx again if I need them. As a New Yorker who moved every time my lease was up for mice or some other classic New York issue (why do I still love it lol) I have moved essentially every year for the past ten years and hated every. single. one! My husband and I relocated to Washington and made the mistake of moving to Kirkland and have started the yearly move trend here. HiveBoxx saved my entire moving experience AND saved me a ton of money. I dreaded the move, having done quite a few in my day. I found a Groupon for HiveBoxx and decided to give it a try.
