This is a fairly new park Long called the 37th Avenue Park, this South Beacon Hill park was renamed…read morethe John C. Little, Sr. Park in September 2004. The park is located next to New Holly with picnic shelters, a plaza, an expanded children's play area, landscaping, and a community garden. Even so, for a small park, it does have a lot to offer for recreation. There we're quite a few people walking there dogs there too. Great place to sit & eat that to-go-order on a nice sunny afternoon.

Surrounded by two large baseball fields and new and improved tennis courts, the Rainier Beach Playfield is adjacent to the community center and now more modern than ever. Your little monkey will love the giant spider-web of climbing ropes, and the new fitness equipment makes working out the wiggles even more fun. Kids (and parents!) will also enjoy scooting back and forth on a skateboard attached to rails, working their legs on an elliptical-type contraption, and scampering up and over the mini-climbing wall. When your kiddo is ready to take a break from all that climbing and jumping, this newly renovated play space is home to two large yellow swinging chairs with chest harnesses--perfect for ages 5-12. Unfortunately toddlers are too small to fit comfortably in these bigger swings, but other swings with updated padded seats are also featured--great for big kids and grown ups alike! Toddlers and waddlers will find the manicured green space in the center of the play area an excellent place to explore. And when your family gets tired of the play structures, there is plenty of shaded green space to relax, kick a ball around or play tag. Nice park, love all the new equipment.

It's very short, but it's nice and steep--enough to burn off your dog's energy without committing to a giant walkaround. It's also great to run it and break in your new trail runners. Maintaining its greenspaciness, there are not lights on the trails to distract you which lets you take in the smell of green and feel the lushness. It's a nice calming pause if you're walking around the neighborhood.

It's a beautiful park with a basketball court, huge big toy and a long slide. The park was calm and brought back memories of my childhood. I just didn't like how the park has a bad rep to it because of the neighborhood it is in. It's a place to stop by after shopping by Safeway or grabbing food nearby Othello/MLK strip. Also, bring a snack and wear the right sliding outfit so you can shoot off the slide quick!

I've once sat at the top, meditating the rapid descent of 20-30 ft - and nothing more. I mean it's only sharp angles at the bends, no curves! I can only hear the: "Weeeeeeeeeeee!---[thump]---OWW!" It's a nice park/playground (parkground/!), though. Just watch out for the inconsiderate poop plops from dog owners who aren't quite mindful and some trash. Besides that, check it out a bit the next time you're in the area winding away from time.

Covid was still raging strongly and not many people were out but it was a spot of novelty as it was my first time to this neighborhood. It was in Spring I believe because blooming trees were in full affect which was interesting timing returning here again as the blooming trees were at work again in the park. The park isn't all that large and doesn't have a lot park amenities but it's a nice stroll for visitors and the residents for this mixed use business and residential area. It's a very clean looking park with no rubbish anywhere to be seen.

On a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of Mount Rainier as you lounge under a tree and look out over Lake Washington. It is a very simple park located on Lake Washington just south of Seward Park. With a very large green lawn, you could do any sort of activity here. Other than just a few picnic tables, trails and cut grass, you won't find much else. The beach area is a good distance from where you park and kept in a fairly natural state, yet easy for people to sit and enjoy. It's the perfect little neighborhood get-away for a contemplative stroll or a romantic picnic with views out over Lake Washington.
