Try sitting in the spinner chairs and seeing how fast you can get them going without making yourself sick.

Such a cute little gem and has potential to be great if the King County invested in remodeling or upkeep this park. Pretty clean as far as we could see. No parking though, just street parking. Would come back, pretty neat.

Surrounded by two large baseball fields and new and improved tennis courts, the Rainier Beach Playfield is adjacent to the community center and now more modern than ever. Your little monkey will love the giant spider-web of climbing ropes, and the new fitness equipment makes working out the wiggles even more fun. Kids (and parents!) will also enjoy scooting back and forth on a skateboard attached to rails, working their legs on an elliptical-type contraption, and scampering up and over the mini-climbing wall. When your kiddo is ready to take a break from all that climbing and jumping, this newly renovated play space is home to two large yellow swinging chairs with chest harnesses--perfect for ages 5-12. Unfortunately toddlers are too small to fit comfortably in these bigger swings, but other swings with updated padded seats are also featured--great for big kids and grown ups alike! Toddlers and waddlers will find the manicured green space in the center of the play area an excellent place to explore. And when your family gets tired of the play structures, there is plenty of shaded green space to relax, kick a ball around or play tag. Nice park, love all the new equipment.

We took our son to burn off some energy and let him roam around. They've got a nice little playground that's perfect for toddlers and older-aged kids. They've also got a nice picnic area for nicer weather. Another thing I thought was pretty cool - they've got some workout equipment here! Nothing fancy, but I'm sure somebody could get some use out of it. Definitely think that's something more parks should be doing. If you walk the whole entire park, you'll find that there is a community garden here. There was even a rooster roaming through it? That threw me off, LOL. Such a great idea, though! It's nice little spot to have "me time" I guess you could say, haha. It's beautiful, quite and serene. Pritchard Island Beach is located in the Rainier Beach area, north of Beer Sheva Park. Several large cottonwoods flutter in the breeze as swimmers head for the raft, where they spring into the air from high and low diving boards. Others just sit on the beach admiring the view of Seward Park to the north and Mercer Island to the east. You'll find this a fine, quiet complement to the Atlantic City beach to the south, since there is no boat ramp ruckus here. Bathhouse is a great spot for your community gathering, family reunion, wedding or other event. We love this small and convenient dog park located centrally on the main walking street of Burien…read more It is close to multiple restaurants and shops, the library, and residences. It is designated only for small dogs, which is a welcome thing for us as our dog has been harassed by larger dogs on more than one occasion. We rarely see anyone there but that's more space for us! It's on one corner, with street parking, a sturdy fence, and a security gate. We were impressed with the amenities provided, incl. water, a pooper scooper, and poo bags. There's an effort at landscaping and a fun dinosaur statue. The ground cover is rock - which we really like because it is less muddy and there is no chance of stickers from grass or bushes (which has been a hazard in other parks nearby). We really like this park and were so happy to see it go up.

This trail is about 20 miles long and (surprise!) follows along the Green River. Fairly wide,…read morepaved, and overall well maintained this is a popular biking trail, but works just fine if you're on foot as well. Smooth enough for rollerblading in most areas. There are numerous parking areas along this trail, and it connects directly with the Interurban in Tukwila and Kent for those looking to keep going south. There are a ton of parks and rest points along the way where you can see a lot of what Washington has to offer. At dusk and dawn you can find a TON of bunnies and perhaps even a coyote. Most areas have good lighting, but I wouldn't recommend using this trail as it gets dark due to random homeless encampments.

This is just under a 20 mile stretch of rail to trail project. Goes from the Tukwila-Seattle…read moreborder all the way to Kent starting along the Duwamish River which becomes the Green River. On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon it was pleasantly quiet, saw a few joggers and other bicyclists, but not crazy busy, made for a very pleasant trek down the first 8 miles or so and back. There are several spots where you can interconnect with the Interurban trail as well, paved with some bumpy spots, and mostly level without too many changes in elevation, so great for casual bikers like myself.
