I like the parking on the west side of the park better than the spot on West Lake Sammamish Parkway, but the latter is good too.

We ended up exiting the park and walking back through the surrounding neighborhoods to complete our loop, which felt a little unconventional, but the residents were surprisingly friendly and welcoming. A significant drawback of the main trailhead is the extremely limited parking. For future visits, I will definitely explore alternative parking options around the park's perimeter, as there doesn't seem to be a strong necessity to begin at the designated main entrance given the park's layout. During this visit, we didn't venture down to the lake or explore all the various routes, but the trails we did experience were peaceful and scenic. There were a few sections that presented some minor challenges due to curvy inclines covered in roots and uneven ground, requiring a bit of careful footing. Overall, Weowna Park offers a pleasant and serene hiking experience. While the lack of a dedicated scenic loop and the parking situation at the main trailhead are points to consider, the park's natural beauty and friendly neighborhood make it a worthwhile destination. Especially for a quick weekend walk. They allow pets, but be sure to keep them leased and bring clean up bags because that's also required.

Overall it's a beautiful place to walk. The trails are well maintained and there are some great views. This area has a few different trails to choose from that appear to be mostly loops. It's close enough to the freeways that you get a good amount of traffic noise, but if you go early in the morning it's not too bad. The mosquitoes are most certainly the worst part of this area. Either way, I think it's great we're letting nature be nature.

Admittedly, having Green Lake at our front door was both a blessing and curse. Now we live right across the street from Mercer Slough, and it's been great! Nature right at our front door without the crowds!!! If you walk/run the perimeter it's about a 10k. Inside you'll find trails that are great for just about everyone. Beware you may see garter snakes, but also the occasional otter, beaver, and rabbits too! It's also great for birdwatching. Parking is VERY limited, especially with sound transit light rail being built by Bellevue Way. There is a small parking lot off 118th Ave SE, and some parking along that road, but check the road signs. There is also an Environmental education center and event spaces available. Overall, I enjoy being able to just go across the street and walk my pooch without fear of being run over by bikers and skaters.

The newest 'Fritz Hedges Waterway Park' really has some of the bleakest landscaping I've seen. I'm not sure why nobody put any thought into providing shade. It seems somebody landscaped it back in 2021 and forgot about anything but cutting the grass. I'm sure they send the folks in with gas powered blowers twice a week but god forbid they actually pluck a weed or water a tree. The grass is great if you're a goose or duck, and it's great for you to poop on, of course. It's a fine place to go swim or launch a boat but staying on shore...well you'd be better off visiting Greenlake.

We loved watching the ducks and enjoying how peaceful the park is. The one star loss is that if you look a little closer you'll notice that the chairs are bolted down and could use a new coat of paint. The park is generally clean, but it appears that they've been doing some weed work on the garden and haven't yet cleaned out the dead plant material. I expected a bit more of Sakuma Viewpoint since wasn't really a viewpoint - it's just a water overlook and you have the same view almost everywhere in the park, but beyond that, we really enjoyed how relaxing the space was. So all in all, if you're in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to drop by.

Lake Washington Boulevard, at south of 90, starting at Colman Beach, is a continuous narrow strip…read moreof waterfront walk that loops its way all the way to Seward Park. If I look at Google map magnified, the skinny green space is named Lake Washington Blvd Park while the green dotted and solid line is named Lake Washington Blvd Trail. The map/address that is identified in Yelp is roughly where Mount Baker Beach is located. For the summer, most of Lake Washington Blvd is closed to cars, so plan to park on the side streets to get to Lk WA Blvd itself. I've been visiting and walking along parts of this trail for several weekends now. It's very nice to hear the sounds of water as I walk. There are several restrooms available along this walk. The one thing that is missing is water. No water fountains, no shops, etc. The air felt particularly dry today, and we turned around sooner than planned because we didn't bring water. Bummer! The lower trail that is closest to the water is starting to have weeds grow into it too. May need to take the higher ground trail soon. Wear a hat - parts of it is shaded, parts not. Folks come for picnics, swimming, fishing off the piers, and there are multiple small entry points for kayaks. Look in the sky for bald eagles; we spotted one today and it even landed by the Stan Sayres Memorial Park. We were just there!! Speaking of which, near the Stan Sayres Memorial Park, there is a giant lily pad, at least one turtle, and duck families. Have fun nature walking!

Beautiful park in posh Mercer island, so close to Downtown, yet so mentally far away from…read moreeverything. It was my first visit and enjoyed a lot, in particular the blackberry foraging! Someone told me summer in Seattle is the best of the best, and a visit to this park (and generally speaking Mercer island) is a must. I got hundreds of blackberries, the smell of fresh grass, the pure air breathing and a nice hike close to the water. Some people were fishing, very postcard idyllic. Go and visit!

This review is for a hike in WA Mountain State Forest. Meeting friends for a hike on south tiger…read moremountain loop in the tiger mountains. Still orientating myself with logistics here in WA. This hike was approximately 7 miles and beautiful! The forest here is absolutely gorgeous. Green trees and so many ferns. Super wet and foggy but not raining. Our trail destination was the south tiger mountain loop. I followed (and trusted, lol), my more experienced hiker friends with following signage. This, so many photos of signs. The trail had one muddy spot but the rest was easy to follow. Signage mentioned that horses share the trail but we didn't see any. The peak was very foggy so we didn't see anything. No restrooms anywhere that I could see. Parking, I followed AllTrails direction who h led me to park on the road. Beautiful forest! Can't wait to explore more. Happy Yelping.

For this brief excursion, we parked at High Point Trailhead and did the West Tiger Trail #3 and Around the Lake Trail. I'm in absolute awe of this forest, especially knowing there's so much more to explore. I love looking at everyone else's photos of Tiger Mountain because there's some cool tree formations I want to check out. I'm obsessed with foot bridges, greenery, and lakes. It's notoriously intense, though. Other things I've read in reviews include only bringing active dogs and watching out for mountain bikers. Would totally come back to Washington just to explore more of Tiger Mountain. Beautiful chunk of nature.

I can see why people would be a little off put by this park. It's got a lot of concrete, blind…read morecorners and (unfortunately) homeless people all around. The shortcut up the hill is way worth any of that though. And I think the park is beautiful in it's own way. I love the industrial look and how it melds with it's environment. Our experience was a good one. It was a bright and sunny day with minimal wind. We saw over 6 sets of homeless people and they didn't bother us one bit. Our hotel overlooked the park and we saw people in it with their dogs all the time, even when it was raining.
