That's the moorage itself. Don't expect to pack a picnic with a view of the water. That doesn't mean Leschi Park is anything to sneeze at. It's sizable with a portion that is well manicured and good for a picnic. There are several benches in this area and some portions are shady. When we went, the rose hedges were blooming and quite pretty. There's also a sequoia that was dedicated to the head gardener from 65 years ago. There are a few tennis courts too. The parts that I like more are the trails that have a forest vibe. Leschi Park is adjacent to Frink Park; together, they form a very large area to explore. I didn't find much signs or maps so I just used Google maps to choose walking paths. Cell signal was solid inside both parks. On a hot day, these two tree filled parks provide lots of shade; they would be an excellent place to visit.

There was a couple spots open, but limited. It wasnt until after 3 pm that the park started to get busier and the park began to pile in. People started looking to park outside of the lots for a spot. Most people tend to park at the bottom lots due to convenience. There are multiple parking lots spread throughout the park with walking access to off-leash dog parks, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and baseball fields. When we were here there was a good amount of parking but I'm guessing it probably gets packed during the summer and weekends. A short walk away is the swimming beach which has views of Lake Washington. The facilities are nice and there are restrooms and porta-potties throughout. You can reserve the picnic tables on their website. Overall this is a very peaceful and quiet park and this is definitely a park that I'll come back to and explore more of because it's huge.

Ravenna Park is connected to Cowen Park and is located near Green Lake and University of Washington. It's bigger than Cowen Park but they are connected by a trail that spans the length of the park, popular by joggers and bikers alike. Multiple small paths are broken off from the main trail that are covered making it very hidden and peaceful. However, because of that I wouldn't come here when it's completely dark. On the southeastern part of the park there are more parking lots with a kids playground and tennis courts. It's a peaceful park if you want to get away from the noise and venture into its nearly 50 acres of nature.

A visit to Lincoln Park along the shores of Puget Sound is a wonderful way to spend time outdoors…read morein Seattle. The park offers complimentary parking lots, plenty of picnic areas for both large and small groups, a playground, covered shelters, outdoor restrooms, and it's very dog- and bicycle-friendly. One of the best parts is simply relaxing along the waterfront path and watching the steady stream of Washington State Ferries traveling back and forth across the Sound. During the summer months, the park even features an outdoor swimming pool. Our main reason for visiting was to see Bruun Idun created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, and it did not disappoint. While walking the Puget Sound trail to find the troll, we also spotted a bald eagle perched in its nest--very cool! After snapping photos, we were treated to a beautiful sunset over the water. With nature, art, and incredible views all in one place, Lincoln Park is absolutely worth a visit.

I planned to spend the day here on my most recent trip to the area, but I probably wouldn't do it again. The parking was a nightmare. I tried multiple times to find a parking spot in one of the available lots and it was impossible. I drove around blocks and blocks of residential areas and finally found a place that I could park for a few hours (according to the sign) and walk to the park. I know it sounds a little unnecessary to remark on how there were so many people in a hugely popular space, but I think my problem was that there were so many people in specific areas. I tried to walk down the concrete path from the lower parking area around the water and there must have been hundreds of teenagers hanging out. I would love to say that I'm exaggerating but at one point I started to count and I got to at least 80 before giving up. I think it's great that young people have a place to hang out; they were playing music and playing games and laughing and getting into the water... But it was so very loud. Maybe I came during some sort of event but it was the middle of the week early in the afternoon so I'm not sure what it could have been. Nevertheless, I saw a family packing up their picnic to move to another area because the teens were being so obnoxious. That wasn't the only place either. Many of the grassy areas were packed with people, some screaming or playing loud music. I found it very difficult to find a quiet space where I could just enjoy being in the park. The park itself is huge, so I continued on. I spent at least 2 hours in the park walking. The only things I really enjoyed were seeing the Dambo troll and probably most enjoyable was all of the bunnies! I must have seen dozens of bunnies as I was walking. I tried to stay as far away as possible because I had my dog with me but they were so sweet. They didn't see him at all bothered by all the people walking by them. The sunset was quite nice too but it was just starting as I was heading out. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm not from the area or if I happened here on a crazy busy day for some unknown reason but where I am from, people can enjoy parks while still being respectful to others around them and that did not seem to be a priority to the people visiting this park. I would definitely come here again to see if my experience was situational but I would maybe take public transit to avoid the parking headaches and I would absolutely try and get here during a time when school is in session.

While going down the stairs, there is a small dirt path you can veer off and see the plants/some flowers. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, you'll see a nice open space with benches and a grassy area ideal for a small picnic or playing with your dog or kids. Venture a little further and you'll see a small ramp that leads out to the water. Here, you can easily launch boats/canoes/kayaks or simply just sit and enjoy the nice view of the water and such. For a sunny day, this place was close to being super empty (at least, to me when I visited), which is pretty awesome if you're seeking a nice oasis from the busy city vibe and such. Do be aware that there are quite a few gnats and bugs near the grassy area but nothing near the water :) Also, the park itself super small and you can easily just finish everything in like.....10min or less.

It's a small park hidden off of Eastlake Ave. Here you will find two or three benches, a small patch of grass, a neighborhood garden patch and a boat launch that's perfect for canoes or kayaks. I love to sit here and watch the last golden rays of the setting sun slowly disappear and then wait for a few minutes until the bats come out, darting here and there.
