A lot of tables, grills, a bathroom, and all the things you'd want when getting outdoors for some fresh air. There are a lot of old-growth trees that provide shade all year round. When it was 100+ during the summer of 2021, it was a good 20' cooler here. For the tourist looking at the dry grass, we are in the middle of an unusual drought here. Take care of your parks and they'll take care of you. There's a good bit of aerial acrobatics from the local hawks. I've seen them take out other flying friends.

On the other end of the park there is a basketball hoop as well as a workout structure which is unique for Seattle. There's no dedicated parking lot for this park but there is street parking in the neighborhood. The busiest part of this park is the skate park because there's not much else here. The fences make it look like there's stuff still being worked on but also looks deserted. It's a quiet park and is a nice place for a stroll.

Steve and I were in Seattle's International District a few weekends ago and I had the community…read moregardens that are within Kobe Terrace (there is a separate Yelp entry for that) in my Yelp bookmarks. I didn't know anything about Kobe Terrace so it was a nice bonus as we were coming here just to check out the community gardens. The wavy chairs down at the bottom of the park is cool as well as all the woodwork around the bottom entrance which is right next to those chairs. As we went up the stairs that reach the top of terrace and through the community gardens we enjoyed all of the greenery and the informational plaques as we made our way. At the top of Kobe Terrace there is a beautiful stone lantern at the top. We definitely took some pictures of it. Apparently going off of some of the pictures other reviewers have made it's beautiful here in the Spring as many of the trees are blooming trees, it looks like cherry blossoms to be specific and it looks so amazing and enchanting strolling through those trees from those pictures so that's definitely something to keep in mind!

Sure, UW has them, but this place doesn't have the crowds. We were there in late March. Some of the petals have fallen. With every breeze, more petals would fall as though it's raining petals. In Japan, the favorite viewing of cherry blossoms is not necessarily at the peak of the blossoms, but it's just a bit past the prime, exactly at this time of falling petals. We stumbled on this time at Kobe Terrace, and it was just the best. The ground is white-ish with the infinite petals. They also have wave benches and a lantern from Kobe, Japan. So, what's the catch? Well, this park attracts 'others', too. You are very likely sharing space with them. Hey, it's a public park; they can sit on the benches, too. With every breeze, you might pick up extra scent. Enough said. Just be mentally prepared. An Asian gentleman was doing tai chi at the park. Good for him. I am happy to see a local enjoying the park. A group of five young ladies were happily snapping photos of the cherry blossoms. Yay for them. I will likely return during cherry blossoms season. I doubt I would return during other times of the year. It barely feels safe in the daytime because this park is in a corner, backed up against I-5, away from any visible crowds or street traffic. It's always shaded from much visible light. There are several low-income housings nearby, but very few choose to spend time at this park. It is fine if you are in a group. Side note: Adjacent to the park is the Danny Woo Community Garden, tended to by several local communities.

The shortcut up the hill is way worth any of that though. And I think the park is beautiful in it's own way. I love the industrial look and how it melds with it's environment. Our experience was a good one. It was a bright and sunny day with minimal wind. We saw over 6 sets of homeless people and they didn't bother us one bit. Our hotel overlooked the park and we saw people in it with their dogs all the time, even when it was raining.

Wallingford Playfield is the main park in the namesake neighborhood where mostly families take…read moretheir children for some play time. There are also some areas for Basketball & Tennis. Wallingford Playfield is mostly a wide-open field where students from the nearby high school are often practicing field games, usually Frisbee and Soccer. When these activities aren't taking place, it's often a unofficial off leash park for dogs of the neighborhood to run and play through the park. There is a playground that looks fairly new and well-kept that children are often on. On the back side of the park are some tables where folks can sit and maybe have a picnic. Presently there is a petition posted around the neighborhood to save the park as it's at risk of being redone as an official field for the schools. The biggest issue is that the field will be changed to artificial turf. There is a website that goes into all the details and hopes to preserve the park. Personally, I think the Park is fine as is but have not strong opinion on the matter. As it stands Wallingford Playfield is a nice park that I enjoy walking through occasionally.

Big parties enjoy the swing at the playground. It also has a great drum station. Very attractive for toddlers. Kids will also hang out by the climbing net. A lot of movement for sure. Lots of kids. Some of them were in summer camps with their guides :) Restrooms just steps aside the pool. Loved that there is a "deeper" part so todds can swim. Everyone is friendly. Benches around to sit and watch. But it can be tricky to find shade sometimes. Just 2 sits :S It also has a kind of beach for babies. There is plenty of room to run down the park. Green grass makes it nice :) Street next to the park can be closed for neighbors only. Parking was no problem though.

It is some steps aways for the parking lot and playground but not that far. Part of it is under a tree, giving it perfect shade on those hot days. I think there are only 2 benches side by side, but you can always sit down on a concrete part near the pool. In fact, it was the perfect spot when the ice cream truck came on the street behind it and played it's song. We ran towards it. It was the perfect treat for the summer...and by the pool! Great for kids. They even get card now a days :D Very friendly families so kids can play with each other and share toys :)

My grandparents bought land in this area (Wedgwood) in the 1940s and built their own house. The…read moreland and house is still owned by family and the Dahl Playfield is a nearby field of choice when going for a walk from the house. When my mom was growing up this was a playfield she visited. In my lifetime, the Dahl Playfield has been a place I have visited for sports and as a place to go and meander and/or play with my family. The playfield is much greener than it used to be, the wading pool has remained the same. The skate park is a relatively new addition. It is not a park where I have felt unsafe in my visits. In my experience the fields, trails, wading pool, and playground have all been well maintained. There is a parking lot where you can park your vehicle if driving to the park on the 25th Avenue NE side of the park. My mom and my most recent visit to the playfield on 23 June 2020 after visiting the Wedgwood house we walked through the park and reminisced about how it has changed over the years. Lots of kiddos when we visited, tis the summer season though.

There's not many amenities other than some art, trash receptacles, and park benches (so no playground or bathrooms), but it's nice place to stroll through or sit down and enjoy ice cream from near by Molly Moon's or a sandwich from PCC. During the summer, the Columbia City Farmers Market, SEEDArt Summer Series, and Honk! Fest West use this space to hold their events, so this place can get quite busy. I did notice that parking appears to be limited to street parking, so good thing that this park is within walking distance from the 1 line light rail station (just a couple minutes walk).
