I don't usually write reviews, but my experience with Hitching Post was so positive that I wanted to share it! I was looking for a shed to help me organize myself, and from the very beginning, Mike and his team made the entire process seamless. When I got to their showroom, I immediately felt like I was in good hands. They have a lot of sheds and other outdoor structures to choose from. They really took the time to walk me through everything. They listened to what I needed and helped me choose the perfect shed for me and my home. They were not the typical salespeople trying to push things on you. I was able to browse, and they were there to answer all my questions. This was all new to me, and I was really worried about making the wrong decision about which type of shed to get. What really impressed me was how helpful they were with the entire process, especially when it came to permitting. I had no idea what was involved in getting everything approved, but Mike and his team took care of it all. They handled all the paperwork, answered my questions, and made sure everything met the requirements. Knowing they were on top of it was a huge weight off my shoulders. The installation process was just as smooth. The team was professional, friendly, and efficient. They made sure every detail was perfect and even went over how to maintain the shed so it would last for years to come. You can tell they take pride in their work and really care about their customers. The shed itself is REALLY NICE! It's solid and well-built and fits perfectly in my backyard. Thank you Mike and the Hitching Post staff for excellent customer service and for an excellent product! First of all, when my daughter and I first went there we were enchanted by the variety of swingsets and gazebos, hammocks and the like. We hung out exploring for a while and felt as though we were in an environment where the owner loves what he does and created an inviting setting that inspires creative ideas for how to set up one's garden or yard. Then we met Mike, the owner, who was compassionate, truly listened, and met our desire to have a swing set in time for Christmas even with a full schedule of orders and deliveries already under way. He knows his field very well and provides only the best products on the market. The delivery of our swing set was punctual and very professionally done by his team, and my daughter and I use the swings daily. It is a way that we bond and share quality time together and enjoy our garden. We are very happy with having done business with Mike and Hitching Post for their high quality products and high quality personalized rapport and customer service. For sure our experience has and continues to be a positive one as we just had a slide addition delivered today which we love. Take your business elsewhere. Horrible customer service. We were very excited to purchase a swing set for our daughter here so after communicating back and forth with Mike he urged us to make an appointment with him. After speaking with him on the phone for about 20 minutes we set an appointment and showed up promptly at our appointment time. It was very difficult to make an appointment, as they wanted to schedule only morning time slots and we both work full time. We moved our schedules around and made the 30 minute trek out to the Hitching Post. As we were walking up a woman named Lorraine came out to meet us and we informed her we had a scheduled appointment with Mike... We took a seat in the office (which smelled like cigarette smoke) and began to wait. She finally told us Mike wasn't there as she was handing us brochures and magazines. She said she attempted to call and text him but he wasn't responding. Definitely not good business practice to schedule an appointment and not even show up. Very disappointing, as we were ready to purchase today. They lost out on a guaranteed sale. I would not recommend this place to anyone.... Summing up my experience with Mike Skiera at HITCHING POST BACKYARD SPECIALTIES, INC. in Delray Beach, Florida...Run don't walk. He is everything that is wrong with doing business in South Florida. A red flag is that he does not accept AMEX and he demands full payment before the product is installed. He does this because he knows the timeframes he quotes is made up and he thinks having your money will make you more patient. He has a " Hey I'm at the beach what's the rush" attitude. He can't tell you when a product will come in because it's all about the "truck " that he's waiting to fill. He has to fill a truck before an order is delivered it saves him money at your expense. After reading all the reviews I still went with the HitchingPost and Mike as the main component of his business. I bought a picnic table in the mid 90s that is still functioning. This trip I wanted a Pergola, and in my discerning eyes, was some of the best selection and quality around. Through a few hoops and some time Mike was able to get the job executed in fine style.and it's a beautiful, quality, structure! Anyone can tell that he really loves what he does and aims to please even if the surprises of life create setbacks. Very pleased. Was not rushed in the showroom by Mike. Kids were allowed to take their time to choose their equipment. Either Mike or Cathy always picked up the phone when I called and were never annoyed with my million questions. First quote was slightly off in the equipment requested, but immediately corrected. The owner of this place is a straight up lying scumbag, his entire crew is full of relentless drinks n crackheadss. A friend of mine was the receptionist there for years and said Mike would constantly sexually harass and belittle her constantly. My friend with the help of some of her friends was able to quit but only after we had to show up there because it she was quitting he was refusing to pay her. manager or owner with mullet on site is unprofessional has no idea how to speak to customers. If toddlers are too small for your playsets maybe list ages on them instead of aggressively yelling at customers. Would never give you my money, no wonder you have bad reviews. Hitching Post has done an amazing job for our community in Villa San Remo. 42 days from deposit check to permit to installation.
