Instead of testing the 7 wire connectors ..Jim cut them off put new ones on...there are testers for this job? If they were dirty they can be cleaned. Tried to order a hitch receiver on line, was promised 5 percent off if I signed up for a newsletter. So I used my junk email address and did not get my discount. I called and was told the web guy was away and I should just reorder using a coupon code. After ordering twice, then you would expect prompt service - two days later they said the hitch was in Ontario. And it would take weeks. So I cancelled the order and 2 weeks later the order was still on my credit card - not cool. The moral: don't offer web service if you only have one "web guy" to service it - their website makes it sound like a modern operation. With a week's notice and confirmed app't, dropped off vehicle to have hitch installed. Was informed that install time was 2-3x any competitors estimate. Had to return to pick up vehicle because they didn't actually have the hitch! Tried to blame both their system and the newness of the vehicle despite listing 4 options as available on their website. this place is a joke prices inflated they lack customer service go to Edmonton for exactly the same thing much less much better customer service slaeperson did not say it was special order he said he could get them from the warehouse. I did try calling at 1:41 then again at 2:15 each time I was put on hold and after approx 2 minutes of waiting each time I hung up I called back at 2:18 and after 3 minutes of being on hold i talked to somebody Never once was it told to to me it it was special order the restocking fee was printed on the receipt after I had given my deposit. Once you got the deposit you handed me the sheet with the return policy on it. Not once did he say there was a restocking fee. He said some money on it to hold it so we know you are serous about it. It also say returns accepted within 14 days on the same sheet. how can you charge a restocking fee for an item that I don't even have and is still in Edmonton. . the t conector was going to be 89 until I said kurt had one you charged 59$ i picked up the same item for 29$ Also When you charge 50 dollars more the same hitch you can get somewhere else its call ripping off a consumer. When you tell a customer that you have a particular item instock but you really don't its call bait and switch. When I ask for a particular item such as euro mount and Im told that it wouldn't be available so you can upsell a in-house hitch ball for the standard mount. That's called being crooked.Not only that but I said I was going to install the hitches and I lost count of how many time the sales person ask if I wanted it installed How difficult it was to install. Ect Ect. All I asked was for the return of the full deposit less then 24 hours after the order was placed. Wow. On Easter Monday my husband and I were traveling home with our newly purchased travel trailer. Much to our distress we discovered we were missing a vital piece of our sway bars and had a very, very long drive all the way back to Fort St John BC. We traveled from Fernie BC all the way to Calgary as there was not much on the way for specialty stores that would be able to help us. After calling much in advance to Hitch Experts to make sure they were open we made our way there. They were nothing short of rude and unhelpful. We were in quite a pickle as the roads and wind were treacherous!! My husband recalled using Hitch Warehouse in red deer previously and having a very good experience. So with fingers crossed we called while still in calgary and low and behold the phone call was answered by a very friendly gentleman. He had the on call phone as they were closed for the holiday, and most generously offered to meet us at the shop and get us all set up. So we did indeed just that! We cannot express our gratitude to the kind fellow for making the rest of our trip sooooo much better. Saved on fuel consumption and certainly made the rest of our journey A LOT safer for us!!!
