Buyer beware. I placed an online order and cancelled it within 13 minutes. Despite the cancellation happening almost immediately (around 8 p.m.), I was charged a $20 "restocking fee" for an order that was never shipped or fulfilled. I really want to like this place and support a local business but I just can't. I've been here several times, spent hundred of dollars and every time we visit it's as if we're an inconvenience to the employees. Their attitude is terrible. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Took my son there to return a birthday present and they wouldn't take it back said it didn't have their price Sticker. Showed them an electronic receipt, not good enough. Brand new item, in packaging. That would be one thing, I understand hidebound, old, unhappy, conservative people, but they act totally perturbed by being asked a question, so annoyed when you purchase something (seriously), appears they should've opened a different business. So I went to get my son a new bat for his league because he needed a new one so I chose them to help me out since I don't know what to look for when it comes to see what bats are okay for his league. When I walk in I asked one of the employees what bat he can use and even showed him a message on what the coach said in a text message. The message said, USA and -3bbcore but USSSA bats are illegal. So he points to a wall and said all of those bats are fine to buy. So my son picks out a 199.99 bat he liked. Well we buy tokens for the indoor batting cages for him to practice swinging his new bat then leave. When we get to the field the next day the coach tells my son that the bat for the league is illegal. So I'm upset because I thought that it was good for him to use since that's what they told me at the store. I call them and explain to but they say they don't take back bats that have been use but he'll look at it. When I get to the store the next day they guy said he wanted me to show him the message that the coach sent. I do and he tells me the bat is fine. I told him no it's not because apparently it was a USSSA bat. He said that his employee point to a different wall of bats. The guy said he'll take the bat and told my son to get a new one. The whole time this guy is giving me attuite and apparently was talking about me to the employee who pointed to the wrong bats. We take the new bat to the counter that's 119.99 to exchange and the guy looks me dead in the eyes and said, I'm taking responsibility for my employee but YOU have to take some to for not checking the bat so I will NOT give you a refund on the difference. I don't make a scene since my kids were with me and politely said okay. I come to this place for help because I don't know what to look for "which I do now" and they said that to me with a mean look and a smart attuite?? I should have been given my refund that was owed to me since the employee was the one who DIDN'T help me at all. I will NEVER go there again. read more

When you approach this place you are met with huge, red signs of what is not allowed. I missed them when walking in...but now know they are indicative of this place. It's has a huge selection of products (their primary business) and I thought, "wow, this looks really nice." We were with a softball team who had rented an hour of cages. No one could bring in water or drinks...even into the observation area. Staff were quite abrupt about this with a few parents. I then caught the full gruff of the angry owner who lacks any sense of decorum or awareness of appropriate behavior. I'll spare the details and be clear I had no involvement with the sports equipment sales. What I can say is that I will never set foot in this business again and I would encourage anyone to find another place for batting cages. It was disgusting. read more

A swing...and a miss!!! I will not be coming back to Hit After Hit. The first time we came, my husband took our 7 year old. He is catching on a travel team this year, so we are needing gear. First, we bought a catchers helmet. Before we left the store, the adhesive for the padding was coming loose. My husband went back to the counter to return it. The owner was very rude and inferred that our son picked at the adhesive and caused it to come loose. (Our son is super serious about gear and would NOT do this). We purchased a second helmet. More than TWICE the cost of the first. My son walked in the house, put the helmet on to show me, and the shell lining came unglued from inside the helmet. (!!!!) After his experience, I offered to return the helmet. I thought that it surely could not have been THAT bad. Oh my word. It was worse. I returned the helmet, but I will never return to this store. The owner and the person running the register made it very clear that they thought we did something to the helmet. I have not been treated so poorly as a customer in a long time. In conclusion: 1. Their catching helmets are not quality products Or if they were quality at one time, they've been in the store for a long time. I cannot speak for any other gear they carry. 2. Their customer service is some of the worst I have experienced in Nashville. We are just starting our baseball journey, and Hit After Hit is losing out on a LOT of money we would have spent with them over the years to come. read more

Horrible, unfriendly service. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt like second class citizens. Here's the nearly verbatim conversation with one of the staff when we were getting ready to use the batting cage -- and note that it was a very slow day, no one else was there to hit. We had paid for 30 minutes. Staff: Ok, I've got your start time at 10:17 Me: Can you please back that up 5 minutes so daughter can stretch and warm up? Staff: I don't care what you do, I have you down at 10:17. Me: I understand - what I am asking if you could just give her some time to loosen up and get ready. The guy looked at me like he wanted to fight. Literally just stared me down for a full five seconds before saying: I have you down at 10:20. Really??? You are going to treat us like this because we are asking for five minutes to stretch and swing the bat a few times before hitting balls??? No one in line, no one waiting, and you are still going to "relent" by giving her 3 minutes. I don't know if it was because we are not associated with a team or what - but this was the worst service I have experienced in a long time. I have been coming to hit after hit since I was 4 years old. Throughout my pro career I would stop in yearly to get baseballs, batting tees, hats, and an occasional bat/glove for my younger brothers. Lem, Cassandra, and David stay ready and on top of all the new and popular stuff, they are consistent, and they are honest people. For any baseball need, there isn't another store similar to this within 200 miles , much less with batting cages. read more

I am a hitting consultant in professional baseball and work have independent clientele in the league. Over the dozens of cities I've been in to work with guys, never have I experienced what I did here. First, we were given the contact by a friend at Old Hickory, who suggested we hit here as his staff was out of the area at their complex. We were charged an exorbitant rate to utilize the cage - far more than anything I'd ever pay in Los Angeles, the city I am from. Typically we work out a deal with a cage - especially when it comes to professional hitters. Second, I was not allowed to bring my coffee into the facility. There are signs everywhere that say "no outside food or drink." It's very apparent that this was a money grab. Apart from selling some apparel (which, am I going to throw coffee all over your stuff?) they sell beverages in house. Third, the staff were not engaging, kind, or able to meet the needs of myself or the player. The baseballs in the cage were incredibly old and many were dirty and/or water logged. Not exactly what I'd expect when paying 50$ over a premium cage in LA for an hourly rental. To not allow an adult to bring in a coffee, a player to bring in water, etc it shows a company that is looking for a money grab. It was incredibly disappointing to run into a place like this in the greater Nashville area where baseball is growing. Hate to see cages for under, but the way business was run here was incredibly unprofessional. read more

Not a big fan of paying $20 to test swing a bat and only receiving a $10 credit on the bat if you decide to buy it, but hey that's the nature of this beast. They redid the lacing for my partner's 25+ year old glove. They were very careful with it and chose a lace color to match almost exactly, which was hard to do for a glove of that age. They were extremely kind and professional. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

This store has the rudest employees especially the blonde head older lady and also so freaking Anal on everything, if you have kids they will literally hover over your child plus all the signs telling parents to keep your child from touching things. These guys said they would fix my son's catcher's mitt, which had a broken lace. They charged my wife $40, and gave it back with loose laces. When I asked about the laces, they rudely blamed my wife saying it would cost more money and that she had only asked for part of the glove to be fixed and that the whole pocket had to be relaced for more money. This was not true. She had simply asked for it to be repaired. The kid in there was quick to try to sell me a new glove, though, rather than do a simple fix. Another person (apparently the glove lacer) pulled it tight and again, blamed my wife for not asking for the glove to be repaired. This was a poor overpriced job, incomplete and terrible customer service. Had planned on spending money there. No way now. Very frustrating. read more

I've dealt with HAH for almost 15 years now. Don't expect free hugs but do expect great service as that is the norm with this place. Lem and his staff always go out of their way to take care of not just me, but my players and other teams and their players as well. I appreciate the fact that this is an individual owned business and they don't put up with people that are obviously just looking for something to complain about and get something for nothing. We visited today and the first thing I felt when I walked in was UNWELCOMED. The older lady behind the counter was rude and made me feel like was bothering her and that I was inconveniencing her. There were two young men who were working there around high school age who had to have sensed this because they rushed over to try to help as best they could. Our coach chose this outfitter so we had no choice. I cannot tell you just how much i detest giving our money to this jerk. Our new Coach used him last year & the parents complained....but he thought it was just an isolated case of disgruntled parents. Two years in a row now ....2 different schools, same result.
