A friendly greeting when I walked through the door. They weren't overly busy at 1 on a Thursday afternoon. I ordered a Sapporo beer and three rolls, Philadelphia, spicy tuna and they're Mexican. The spicy tuna was perfect as was the Phily. By the time I had eaten the 2 spicy rolls I had to use the napkin on my forehead :-) Everything was very fresh I enjoyed my lunch very much. My husband and I had lunch at Hiroba today. We have been searching for great sushi since moving here in January and I believe we have finally found it! As sashimi fans, it's critical the fish is super fresh - and it was...mackerel, toro, yellowtail - so good! Also tried the Barbie Roll with their special black rice; filled with shrimp tempura & cucumber and topped with crab meat and crunchy bits. Super yummy! (See pic below). The prices are super reasonable for the portions and quality of sushi/sashimi, and they have unique offerings like black rice sushi and no rice rolls. The best deals seem to be the special box and the sashimi/sushi lunch specials ($11-15) because they include a good amount of extras - for special box, your choice of 1-2 entrees with miso soup, salad, 5-8 pieces of California or spicy tuna roll, and tempura; for the lunch specials, miso and a decently sized side salad. You'll leave full and satisfied. This is my usual go-to sushi spot in town. Sometimes can get a bit busy with reservations and can be tricky to get a table so I usually call first to see if there's a wait. Spicy pork was tough to chew but chicken Katsu was good. Nice assortment of tempura with the bentos but the batter, texture had too much flour mix? BBQ beef ribs (kalbi) was tender but the teri sauce was watered down too much. Lacked the umami flavor. Service was slow and no refills on the water during the entire meal. There's no all you can eat option, but I don't mind here This most recent visit we got the Jumping Lobster (my all time favorite!!) Sunrise, and a fried philly roll. All were good. We were visiting Vegas for a family vacation. After seeing a show on the strip, we were heading back to our vacation rental, and looking for a place to grab a late dinner. Unfortunately, it seemed like everything in Henderson closed either at 8 or 9pm. We found Hiroba Sushi because they were open until 10. Wow. We are so glad we did. The menu is a bit overwhelming by the vast array of sushi offerings, which is not a bad thing. The staff was extremely friendly, and our food arrived pretty quickly. My daughter had beef yaki udon (which was delicious), my husband had chicken fried rice, and my son and I tried a few different rolls. Everything was fabulous. My favorite by far was the crispy spicy tuna on black rice (Crispy Black Lotus). The cost of the food was reasonable and worth every cent. We will definitely go back next time we visit Vegas. read more

New management/ownership and it shows. Quality of food and service has gone down, and prices have gone up. No familiar faces at all. It's sad. It used to be a great neighborhood spot where the owners worked at the restaurant, striked up conversations with their regulars and first timers, and remembered your face when you walked in after a while of not visiting. My daughter and I had lunch there, and it was almost like trying a new restaurant for the first time. It was awkward going to a place that was so familiar to just see strangers' faces for employees this time around. Service was ok, not attentive and friendly as before. Food was noticeably downgraded (ordered a lunch set with short rib/kalbi, tuna nigiri, teriyaki salmon bowl). And the prices are definitely reflecting inflation. The owners, Yoh and her husband, worked themselves to the bone at this restaurant. I'm hoping they sold to retire and not sold because they had to. They are missed very much. read more

Hiroba sushi is located in a small commercial complex on S. Eastern in Henderson. There is a fair amount of parking and the parking lot is well lit. Hiroba sushi was moderately busy when I attended and most tables were full. I was immediately seated upon entering and given a menu. Any questions I had were promptly answered by the server. The sushi came out quickly and it was well put together and full of flavor. I couldn't eat it fast enough so I could order more. The fish was fresh, the rice was perfectly cooked, and overall, I cannot day enough good things about this place. It is a great place to eat and in a good location that isn't as busy as some on the S Eastern corridor. The price was what you would expect from sushi, and the overall quality was fantastic. Wow seriously? I don't have a rice cooker so I stopped by here to get a side order of rice for the food I was cooking at home. I come in, look at their desserts, buy one and order the rice, pay for it and they say it'll be 5 minutes. Ok so it shouldn't take any longer to scoop rice you've already cooked in a to go container and hand me my premade dessert right? Nope. After waiting outside for 15 min I go inside and ask what's going on. The same exact guy who took my order asked me if I was a table for 1. SAME EXACT GUY! I said I'm the guy waiting that placed the order with you. All of the staff near him ask to see my receipt to see if I paid except for 1 cognizant lady who says she remembers me. So then they scurry off the kitchen to work on it while another lady walks up to me and tries to hand me two bags and asks if I'm Kevin. What is going on here?? It takes another 5 minutes somehow to scoop pre-made rice into a container and hand it to me. Then they say here you are sir and expect me to leave. I then ask if my dessert is already in the bag. And then they say what dessert? You know the dessert we talked about for 5 min before I picked one and that you said you would leave in the refrigerator to keep it cold while I waited? I found this spot on a whim a year ago, and have been trying to find it again ever since. And it is WORTH it. Went on a Saturday evening with no reservation, and came in to a line. Nothing wild, maybe 4-6 groups ahead of us, but the lady running the business was kicking ass and taking names. She was a whirlwind of greeting people, seating them, taking names, wiping tables. We got seated in under 15 minutes, food was DELICIOUS came fast to the table and was fresh and tasty, living up to my memory of the place! The waitresses were all super attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. Can't wait to go back, this place is a GREAT establishment. If you love hand rolls get a yellowtail hand roll. Can never go wrong with a "oh my roll" Also try the "screaming O" and it will keep you coming back.. don't let your server take the left over sauce! My buddy and I went here about 5 min ago, and we sat down, the server was great. We got our pellagrinos in near seconds. This gentleman was super nice and efficient! An older lady with glasses came up to us and asked to take our order. Once she walked away, our server came up and asked if we wanted to order, and I told him the other lady took our order. As we're talking I'm asking my buddy why the food was taking so long... A new server asked me if I would like to order, after 30 minutes of waiting for our food... we said that we ordered, and they confirmed there was nothing there... Unfortunately, I love this place and take all of my clients there, but now I won't be returning with any of them. We've been coming to Hiroba since it opened. While I would have never rated it as the best sushi place out there, it is close to home, the food was good, reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly and attentive. You can definitely tell that ownership has shifted. Wait staff has completely changed over. No familiar faces. They are friendly enough, but not nearly as attentive as the previous staff. Menu items have remained the same, but they've increased the prices. Food quality is slipping a bit. Hiroba was a decent local place. After a few recent visits, I'm not fully convinced that the new ownership can meet the standard set by previous ownership and staff. This is a competitive area for sushi places. I hope the new crew can pull it off. We'll give it a while. read more

Yoji and his team craft the most inspired sushi plates, I'm talking stuff you find on the strip for way more money, made affordable at Hiroba. Like the elegant salmon carpaccio with an herbaceous lemon drizzle, and the hearty seafood fried black rice. Had some super fresh sashimi and the nicely spiced Valley of Fire roll. My favorite Japanese Sushi restaurant! I'm from Hawaii, born/raised and finding good sushi in the desert is definitely a challenge. If you're like me, your standards are pretty high when it comes to sushi. So finding this gem was such a pleasant surprise. My "go to" order is the Special Dinner Box...I normally order the teriyaki chicken and Spicy Pork as my mains, spicy tuna sushi roll and the box itself also comes with tempura, miso soup, salad and rice. The portion size is enough to feed 2 people. Lena is the sweetest! I frequent this restaurant so often that she remembers my order by heart! If I'm not ordering the dinner box then you can catch me sitting at the sushi bar, I normally do nigiri (served with wasabi and rice) or sashimi (no rice). If you like raw fish, fan faves are hamachi and salmon. Overall, the service and food is amazing. I will definitely be back for more! read more

I was on my dad's side of town and was craving sushi. I hopped onto Yelp and started hunting for a place that wasn't too expensive. I saw the reviews were all pleasant with the exception of one comment on there. I'm so glad I tried it! From the moment I walked in to the time we left I was greeted and felt like I belonged. As soon as I placed my order the food came out within a couple minutes if not less. The freshness is unbelievable and the presentation is beyond expectations. I am not a fan of green muscles, but they changed my mind. It was so soft and the flavor was extremely juicy.
