However the scallop nigiri tasted off, and unpleasantly bitter. The rhubarb dessert I didn't like at all, and left the whole thing. They gave me a chocolate mousse on the house because they noticed I didn't eat the dessert, but I didn't really like the mousse either. The desserts really weren't well balanced, I'd take them off the menu entirely. The cream was overwhelmingly sweet, rhubarb mushy, and crumbles perplexing. I get what they were going for with adding texture but it didn't work. The mousse was two note, raspberry and chocolate, overwhelmingly sweet. The worst part was about 10 minutes after leaving, my stomach started to hurt terribly. It was definitely something I ate there. I had horrible stomach cramps/pains and sickness following. I won't go into the details, but I didn't have anything else to eat and this came upon pretty soon after leaving the restaurant, so I'm certain it was from something there. Maybe the scallops I thought were off? I trusted all of the great reviews.. assumed they know how to handle their shellfish. Maybe the dessert? From the moment we walked in, the staff welcomed us with such warmth and kindness. Despite being walk-ins, with drenched clothing, they quickly found us a table, offered menus, and made us feel genuinely cared for. We noticed many of the staff spoke multiple languages. The service was prompt and attentive. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, talented, and gracious...always smiling and checking in. I've traveled quite a bit around the world, but I can honestly say I've rarely experienced service this warm and genuine. The food was absolutely delicious, well-prepared, and seemed authentically made. The restaurant itself had a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
