We had a lovely dinner in this quite and sober location, with very kind waiters and in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere! And the food tasted as good as expected, no high quality fine cuisine but definitely fresh and tasty. Big news though: the menu changed last week, with more sea and fish offers! Can't wait to try it all!

Kiang is a restaurant I have passed by several times and it's never crowded. It's also in that…read moregroup of Asian restaurants that tries to be all things to all people....in other words it specializes in three different cuisines - Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. Actually more than that because it has Szechuan, Shanghai, and Cantonese dishes on the menu in the Chinese section. (I sure hope that as people in Vienna get more sophisticated in their Asian tastes, restaurants can specialize in one cuisine instead of trying to cook several.) Now saying all this, the Szechuan dish that I ate here was very good. It was the famous Gan Bien and the strips of dried beef were cooked and flavored nicely. The menu indicated that the Gan Bien would be spicy (scharf) but I learned long ago that scharf in Vienna is not really scharf for a Philadelphia guy. So I ordered it Super Scharf with a side order of hot chili sauce. The waitress was great. She did exactly as I asked and the homemade chili sauce was totally excellent .... and hot. I added it liberally and enjoyed a really nice, spicy, and tasty Gan Bien. Next time I will go to Kiang with friends so we can share and try multiple dishes including the classic Dan Dan noodles. I did like the service here very much .... and even if the dining room is rather plainly decorated, the serving staff added a nice warmth.

The toilets are veeeeery tiny but I liked the very big windows, giving an impression of space. The menu has for me the right amount of offers: every one could easily find something he/she would like :) without spending hours looking at the menu... Plus, it tastes amazing! Fresh and tasty, not too fat but with the exact right amount of spices (for my taste)... and in big proportions for such fair prices! It was a lovely dinner, I'm looking forward trying the other affiliate across the city!

We ordered the buffet (unfortunately) and were very disappointed. Half of the containers were empty and most of the food was drowning in sauce. Between 12 and 1 o'clock they couldn't be bothered to refill the buffet. All the good stuff had been eaten by 12! Another annoyance is that they charge 50 cents for tap water, without telling you in advance. That's not ok. The music today consisted of one short Chinese instrumental song that was repeated over and over the whole time we were there. It's really enough to drive you crazy!
