I was being pretty indecisive about what to eat when the tram we were riding stopped out front of the shining new Wien Mitte Mall. We jumped off and instead of wandering into the standard yet satisfying Vapiano, we ventured upstairs to try out the latest outpost of Ra'mien. The food there was excellent: I had the La Mien with coconut curry and duck and my girlfriend had a large bowl of their wanton soup. Both dishes were huge, filling, and super tasty! The price was right at under €10 for each of us, perfectly reasonable for the quality and quantity. The food came out pretty quickly but was clearly made to order. They make their own noodles on site (or at one of their other local restaurants) and both the chewy wide noodles of my La Mien and the thin shrimp noodles of the wanton soup were delicious. The perfect lunch or dinner stop if you're nearby or as a fuel break during a big day of shopping along Landstrasse.

I had (vegetarian) chicken with rice and it tasted really nice. Everything was fresh and the service is great. The background music was jazzy and made me feel relaxed. The interior is modern with purple and grey tones. The bathroom was impeccable. The number of dishes on the menu is limited but that is mostly an advantage. I will certainly come back for more.

If you're looking for noodles or rice, look no further. There are other happy noodles around the city (I can also recommend the one on Mariahilferstrasse), but this is by far the biggest. They run a tight ship and get you your food quickly. I had fried rice with chicken, but their noodle choices are also good. They have chicken, beef, duck, and even kasekrainer for your meat options. That's right, a sausage sliced up and put on top of your noodles. Only in Austria :)

I pointed this out and was given a side box of noodles. I picked the few pieces of tough meat out and ate it. Threw the rice away and ate my sorry noodles with soy sauce and siracha. Wasn't worth the 15 dollars. Also was interrupted three times by people asking for money. Vendor should be a little more proactive on this situation, as well as the exterior surrounding of the business.
